Ok so I'm looking at replacing my front discs sometime, and managed to find a contact who can supply Znoelli Discs for dirt cheap (compared to other options and OEM)

So here are the options he can get:

Posted Image
S6 Sports Disc Rotors - These are directionally slotted (grooved) to provide benefits such as reduced brake fade through pad de-gassing, increased wet performance through the dissipation of water, mud & dirt, improved pedal feel through increased pad bite, improved rotor life through pad deglazing and of course they look more purposeful behind alloy wheels.
Part Number = ZR42.032.02

Posted Image
DDS Sports Disc Rotors - These utilise a curved wide slot to provide all the advantages outlined above. The wide slot draws cool air across the face of the pad allowing cooler running and the dimple drilled areas further break down gases. They also provide a great look but without the risk of rotor cracking that can sometimes be associated with cross drilled discs.
Part Number = ZR42.032.DDS

Posted Image
S12 Sports Disc Rotors - These brake discs are designed with the track day enthusiast in mind. Utilising 12 curved slots and TTP technology, S12's offer excellent performance with good pad bite and provide you with the ability to monitor your disc temperatures.
Part Number = ZR42.032.S12

Prices:
S6 - $xxx per pair (including gst)
DDS - $xxx per pair (including gst)
S12 - $xxx per pair (including gst)

Retail price for the S6 is $431.07 +gst ($485.95 per pair!!!)
(Look HERE if you dont belive me, same part number as our cars and look at that price!!!)

Total Bargin at this price

Will place order when I have 5 sets total (of any type).
They will take about 1 week to reach me once the order has been placed.
Pickups from my work or house, or can ship them around the country, shipping prices might vary though, will need to check when I get the discs in my hands

Only fronts are available for now!

What's a "Slotted Disc Rotor"?
A slotted disc rotor is a high performance product that has a number of grooves (slots) to both the front and the back of the disc rotor.

Why is there a left and right rotor?
Slotted rotors by design are directional and this means there is a left and right rotor which must be fitted as such. Think about tyres for a moment. Many high performance tyres are directionally designed because you spend most of your time driving your car forwards not backwards. So it makes sense for the tread pattern on high performance tyres to be designed optimally for that direction. Similarly our slotted rotors are also designed for that forward direction.

What do the slots do?
They reduce brake fade -
Brakes get hot, the more you use them the greater the heat. Brake fade occurs when the heat causes some of the bonding agents to fume or produce gas. This gas on a standard rotor, creates a cushion between the pad and the rotor. As a result your ability to stop is massively reduced. The slots are very efficient at removing that gas and thereby maintaining braking ability.
They increase pad bite
The slots have sharp edges that increase the pads ability to grip the disc. This helps the vehicle stop faster.
They de-glaze the pads
The sharp edges of the slots "shave" the face of the disc pad. This means that there is alway "fresh" pad in contact with the disc.
They help pads wear evenlyThe shaving action helps the disc pads to wear more evenly which means that there is more effective pad area available to stop the vehicle.
They increase rotor life
As a result of the pads wearing more evenly, the rotors also wear evenly which extends their useful life.
They dissipate unwanted contaminants
Water, mud, dust and dirt are all expelled from the disc rotor surface which is especially reassuring in adverse driving conditions.

Wow god damn those S12's look awesome would be functional, i love the colour and trust me guys going this option would be much better than getting your discs machined which if you are lucky is atleast 80 a disc. So really you are getting a set of discs for relatively 100 bucks, a must do if you are going to new pads (especially sintered ones i think?.

Ps i'd get a pair if i wasn't selling my lex.

OK just following an online postage rate finder to Australia, for the following dimensions (for 2 discs)
350x150x350 - 10KG (I think that should be safe for a pair of discs)
Shipping prices are as follows to Australia:

Quote:

International Courier Services
International Express 1-5 working days $117.16
International Economy Courier 2-6 working days $82.01
International Postal Services
International Air 3-10 working days $60.84
International Economy 10-25 working days $51.71

So using the Internal Air Post ($61) its still probably going to be cheaper then discs you can get there in Aus!!!
Thats under $xxx for the DDS or S12 discs for a pair!!!

Now any more takers?

And that is xxx NZD right Nick so about xxx AUD according to xe.com ...that is a neat deal including postage !!

So why are the DDS not associated with rotor cracking since it is cross drilled:

"They also provide a great look but without the risk of rotor cracking that can sometimes be associated with cross drilled discs. "

So are they made in NZ - are they popular there just like DBA's are to Oz?

Will read a bit more and get back to you Nick but am keen :)

Yup all NZD, good bargin here guys I'm keen to get mine ASAP :D

They are actually dimple drilled, the holes dont go right through!

They associate themselves with a few good people.

Made to order right here in NZ, only made when they are ordered.

They are quiet well known to some of the circuit drivers here in NZ, talked to a few track day enthusiests and they all seemed to use it (especially one with a 600+kw R32 GTR!)

I love the look of the 'track' S12 discs would they be really noisy on the street?

Yeah I'm now thinking about perhaps getting the S12s maybe instead, but the DDS just look so naturally good!

Went for a blat in the GTR around the dairy flats back roads a few weeks back, that had no braking noise whatsoever!
He had the S12s on the GTR, however he had to get custom Znoelli discs made up as he was running Evo 7 Brembos, and even still they fitted perfect.

Someone in Aus could probably get a few and sell it off on Ebay or something and make some $$$.

Hey nick, - transferred today and should be in your account.

- What difference is there in the DDS and the S12 when using it mainly for everyday driving? would be interesting to see considering they are going for the same price. The DDS does look nicer but thats just my opinion...

thanks

Can you contact the Supplier Nick and ask this Question I wouldn't mind knowing the answer also!

The aggressive slots may give you more bite and be harder on the pads and transmit more noise that's all I can think of.

What production standards are these rotors produce to? eg AS/NZ TUV etc?

Ok got off the phone, for road use, both are fine.

The S12 is more for track orientated cars as it has the TTP technology that indicates the disc temps etc, which are crutial for bedding in the discs for track cars.

The S12 will however "HUM" slightly more when braking really hard consistantly.

Performance wise the S12 is probably able to withstand more abuse, but the DDS are also not far off. The prices are the same because more labour is involved in producing the DDS Dimples on the discs

They are made to ISO and NZ standards, but ISO is international so will be ok for AU aswell.

They have lifetime warranty againsts manufacturing faults etc.
Never had a cracked or warped rotor on a normal road car yet!
(as with all disc manufacturers, warranty does not apply to cars used on the track, however many cars use them on the track with no problems)
