I've emailed the supplier several times, and haven't heard back. I'll try him once more now.

It's very similar to the noise the shifter in my MK5 cortina used to make, but that was only held in by a single nylon thread. Real bitch when you went to change gear and the whole shifter came out in your hand.

The vibration is defiantly coming from the two piece shifter arm

If you scar the thread on the shifter connection point with a file and wrap 25 to 30 times with plumbers thread tape the thin kind the vibration is barley notable

If you do not scar the thread the thread tape just binds inside and will not work

Give it a go it worked for me

Cheers,

What do you mean by "Scar" the thread?

What do you mean by "Scar" the thread?

rub the file down the thread of the male thread just hard enough to sharpen the thread

The thread tape will then bind to the male thread when you apply

When you screw the female and male threads togeather the thread tape will stay in postion

I had to use multi grips and a rag to get the shifter arm on tight

Cheers,
