Hey Guys,

Getting a warrant within the next couple of days and I will need to get two new tyres.

Wondering if anybody has any recommendations about what is best for the price.

Looking to spend around 200 per tyre.

Running stock mags (17's).

Cheers

I like Toyo T1-R's, are good in the dry and great in the wet. They seem to be slightly softer than say a Dunlop DZ101, but can still get 30,000kms out of a full set if you look after them.

All my cars wear them.

I purchased 4 Falken Ze912 215/45/17 tyres on my Altezza and are happy with them. Was running Eagle F1's
These will last longer are quieter and still have great grip and feel.

$210 per corner at JR's Tyres papakura

yep we have 101's on the front, happy as with them
They seem to be wearing well 12,000 k's in, had 101's on the rear and they didn't last well (approx 11k) must have been the Diff :) ,
In my defence it does spin the inside wheel a lot even when the wiffee drives :D

would love to have toyo's when the next lot are due

I'd vote Toyo T1-R better, but its a matter of personal preference really.

I replace them a pair at a time using different brands, to get the feel of one tyre brand versus another.

Last time I did mine I just printed off Hyper's page and took it into Beaurepaires, they matched the price (was buying mags at the same time, interest-freed the whole lot).

I have DZ-101s, had T1R's before. The T1R's were horrible, but they came out of Japan and the alignment was nasty off the boat, so I think that was the actual problem. DZs seem pretty good, fronts are wearing quite well, but the backs are getting low kinda quickly - probably my fault tho.

Not sure if this deal is still going, but this a good price for 17's. I am running the same tires in 18's and they are great :-)

Eagle F1s are awesome, they're around the $200 mark.

I originally had Toyo T1R's on my factory 17's, handling was awesome even in the wet,

Lets say when I got the 19's with Triangle's I felt like I was riding on spacesavers, as soon as my poor alignment eats them up I'll be considering some Toyo's again :)

Oh and a decent alignment!

Eagle F1s are awesome, they're around the $200 mark.

Got to make sure you get the German made ones though. The Chinese & Aussie made ones aren't as good. They're a run out tyre now also so you may have problems in the future if you have to replace one. The new F1 Asymmetrical is an amazing tyre by all accounts but they're not cheap.

Bridgestone Potenza RE001 Adrenalin is another tyre to look at in this price range. (I've just put two on the rear & they're very good)

Out of interest has anyone tried Hankook Ventus V8 RSH424 They're at the cheaper end of the scale & don't look half bad

Hey I was going to get the Toyos but got a crazy deal from Firestone on the Bridgestone Adrenalins - $170 each. The people I spoke to said that the Adrenalins were quieter than the Toyos, but otherwise you couldn't go wrong with either tyre. Am loving the Adrenalins, but I have always been a Bridgestone fan, tried Goodyears, Kuhmos before (instead of the old Bridgestone G Grids) on other cars and have always been disappointed.
