Depends what kind of track day it is, drags maybe around the mid 20s, but around 30-35 would probably be ok for circuit ![]() Now doing: Front 18x8 Dunlop Direzza 40PSI 215/40/18 Rear 18x9 Kumho Esta 712 42PSI 225/40/18 |

30-35 on the circuit? I pump my 215/45r17 and 225/40r18s up to 45 PSI (on the pump) then get out a gauge and they are usually around 40 then, then once they get a bit of heat in them recheck and lower to around 38, Haven't blown one up yet

My suspicion is that you probably want a lower pressure because you wil get higher temperatures, so you want the cold pressure a little lower to compensate. But having glanced at a few other replies on other forums, it seems that some say higher, some lower and some the same as road pressure. It all seems to come down to personal preference and how it changes the handling. The only consistent thing i found was that if you are going to experiment, you shold sart high and come down in pressure |

On the road it may be down to personal preference, but with decent motorsport tyres, it pays to follow the manufacturers reccomendations. I have used everywhere from 9 psi to 38 in radial motorsport tyres, surprisingly less is usually better ( up to a point). I tend to think if you need to run 40+ spi to get the right performance from your tyres - you need to spend more on tyres. |
