Area of lip perhaps 100mm long bent in and scraped up. Can I get it fixed? If so, where in Dunedin, and how much will it set me back?

The second picture makes it look like the inside of the rim is buckled - it's actually just the end of one of the spokes. Only the lip affected.

Tire is still fine, and still at full pressure.

(Not my fault :ph43r:)

$90 to do it the cheap way, $200 odd to do it properly. Will just go the cheap options - otherwise I'll just curb it again the next day.

Just gotta see if I have a reasonable condition spare to throw on, or go to the space saver for a few days...

You'll see me a mile off now. Standard 17" mag on the front left, 18" aftermarket ones on the other corners.

Got my wheel back from Automotion today.

The good:
- Was cheap - $67.50
- Looks OK when it's on the car, can't expect miracles with the deeper scratches

The bad:
- They didn't bother phoning me to tell me it was done (had work and cell numbers) so it's been waiting since Friday
- No longer has my ricey chrome valve cap on it
- Still an obvious bend in the lip (though of course I doubt it's easy to remove)

The not-too-sure:
- It doesn't look like the wheel has been rebalanced, and if they've had the tire off, and shaved some metal off I'm pretty sure this should have been done. I'm away this weekend so might need to go get Beaurepaires to do it later this week.

So, to sum up, it was a cheap job, and I got what I paid for. Still, a phone call and my valve cap might have been nice.

Fortunately the wee plastic spacer that sits around the center of the hub is still there fortunately - it occurred to me as I was heading home from picking it up today that I should've taken that and the valve cap off - too late though!

Always go to Beaurepaires down the road from Repco - within walking distance of work, and I figure the amount I go there (two cars of mine plus three work cars) they'll start looking after me. They're always pretty good price matching stuff.

where's work?

ProSouth - bottom of High St.

Took it down today. Dude told me it would be $13, did it on the spot, then said not to worry about the money. Two thumbs up there! Was way off too apparently.

And got my valve cap back :)
