hi guys

I think someone had a similar problem recently

My car cut out as I was coming home, engine light would flash first, then TRC light flash then engine cuts out. Particularly happens when I lift off the throttle.

This only happened today, and "randomly" because I eventually managed to make it home.

Any ideas?

Does it happen when your on-boost and let off coming towards a stop (lights?)

Try disconnecting the BOV vacuum line and run it without the BOV and see if it stops the problem.

OK I will

Gut feeling its more electrical related. Also I read others with the TTE kit have this problem when they have the TTE black box installed, but I have a HKS FCD.

Here

The symptoms are exactly the same. I'll start narrowing down by setting my FCD to conservative and take out the vacuum tap.

Thanks Nick

Shouldn't have anything to do with the BOV venting airflow as the 1GFE runs a MAP sensor which reads manifold pressure not airflow at the intake so you could be running with just an open throttle body and it'd still run fine unlike the 3SGE which needs the AFM reading airflow prior to the throttle body...

disconnect your BOV and connect your bypass valve as per normal. You aren't getting enough air into your throttle body so the car stalls. Even if it is an automatic.

Heheh

Ok I disconnected anything along the vacuum lines and set the FCD closer to normal. Car seems to run fine now, it also got rid of the cold start gurgling problem!

Fantastic.

Now I can actually pass the car to my sis and buy my GTR
