$99 from Dicksmith...probably all sold out at Dicksmith, but if you are really want one, here's a tip. Go down to your local Noel Leemings, and ask for a price match ![]() Most likely will have stock, and will sell for $99 as i just purchased earlier today ![]() Happy easter everyone! |

Not bad, AUD$92 over here at the right places for seagate or western digital drives, so i guess with the exchange rate that works out alright

Just a word of warning with these high capacity "green" drives. They are cheap for a reason, over the last two years I have had 6 out of the 8 "green" drives I have bought die, only the high capacity (1TB/1.5TB/2TB) ones seem to die quick. Have switched to using the WD black drives and they seem to have much better life in them, they just cost a bit more. |

I just bought a new Seagate 7200.12 1TB for $137, with a 3yr warranty. WD Green drives are at the lower end of their spec range.. and personally wouldn't buy any of the green drives. |

Yet you buy a Seagate that when it fails will be replaced with a refurbished hard drive which will be lucky to last two weeks? We've replaced maybe a dozen Seagates that have come back with refurbs, and all of them have failed inside a month or two. |

Seagate did have a big batch of failure in the 11 series, so stay away from those. Otherwise I've always bought Seagate and they they last longer than the life of the computer. |

I'm looking at upgrading the HDD in the laptop with one of these http://pbtech.co.nz/index.php?item=HDDSE4322 Should be sweet? Can only find good reviews online. Also looked at a WD black but PB's is out of stock at the mo I've also got a 1TB Seagate external which is running fine. Although it's only a few months old so only time will tell I guess. |

Should be alright as its not one of the later models with the high failure rate. Maybe try these guys if you're after a WD black? http://www.computerlounge.co.nz/components...asp?partid=9624 |

Should be fine as long as your existing laptop hard drive is sata not ide, and if your running xp you will need to have sp1 or higher (which is pretty darn likely). |

Yep it's SATA but not sure if it's 3Gb/s but from everything I've read it should be backwards compatible with 1.5Gb/s. Running Vista SP2 as well :ph43r: Should give the old girl a new lease of life. |

Hehe, just checked how much space I have left... I have quite a few Spinpoint F3 1TB's, I won't say how many because its just depressing, but I can't recommend these drives enough. But WD is quite a reputable brand. |
