The IS300's Fuel Consumption should be around the 10.9L/100KM mark. I think most people are averaging 450KM's to Fuel Light on a Full Tank.

Unfortunately there isn't alot you can do about that, replace the Air Filter and Fuel Filter, Do a MAF Clean, and at a worst case scenario get the O2 sensors checked.

Fuel Economy depends on the type of driving you do. If its alot of stop/go or short runs then your Fuel Economy will be terrible. You'll be lucky if you ever see 10.9L/100KM's even on the highway.

I'm guessing you're referring to the Economy gauge? If so its probably measuring KM's per Litre or MPG which only would work if the vehicle is moving.

Fuel Tank is 60/65L I'm pretty sure.

Not an IS300 but the procedure should be the same:

MAF Sensor Cleaning

They mention using a cotton bud to clean the wires but I would avoid that as they are very delicate, the force of the cleaner should be enough to remove the dirt.

440KM's to a tank would be 14.7L/100KM's.

I read the owners manual and it said that the fuel economy gauge may not be accurate during low speeds, that's probably why its on 20 when you're stopped.

Well technically while you're stopped and at idle you will be getting the worst fuel economy possible as well.... you're using petrol and not going anywhere :P

If you open it up all the time it will be thirsty, Most engines are when your foot is on the floor :)

Even smaller engine are thristy if the foot is on the floor all the time.

The Litre gauge will alway be moving up and down, Unless you are doing constant speeds all of the time and that is all it can be used for. (Sitting on the same speed for long distances.)

The economy gauge is a pos don't even bother looking at it.

I've gone to coffs harbour on one tank easy with plenty to spare, that's roughly 550kms according to whereis. My car was packed and me and my mate weren't exactly being kind on the highway... we were doing top speed high scores on the gps lol.
My nightmares consist of potholes and speed bumps.

on avg i get around 550-650km per tank depending on how heavy my foot is and where i am driving. fuel economy is generally abit better for me after a car service.
