Vvti P1351; Check Engine Light

Hey guys I have been getting a Check Engine Light lately, I had the ECU checked and it gives a code P1351 VVT (Variable Valve Timing) sensor/camshaft position sensor circuit range oreformance problem (bank2) , do you have any clue what can cause this? do i need to change the sensor?

whats the service history like of this motor? pull the rocker cover off and have a look how gunked up everything is.

this code is common for when the vvti pulley isn't operating correctly, because of the amount of gunk in it from poor maintenance.

I have recently change the timing belt & water pump................I will have the cover removed and see how it looks, do you have any info on where i can find a giude on how to get that done?

Did the Check Engine Error start after the timing belt was changed or did it run ok for some time after changing the belt.

It worked fine for a while after i changed the belt, sometimes it works for a few days no check engine light and then i comes on, once i shut off the engine it good for a day or two again
