Transfering Money From Aust To Nz; how/what is the best way to do this?

hey guy i want to purchase some items from members in NZ!

was wondering if you could guide me on how to transfer money.

Pay Pal? Money Order?

PM me how much... I run bank accounts in both countries, although I have no income in NZ these days so I can't empty that side out completely.

It costs $15-$25 to do an electronic bank transfer between them I think, I can't remember exactly but I do remember getting screwed by Westpac on both sides when I last did one!

the seller just notified me that he has a commonwealth bank account does that mean i can just transfer money through?

If he has the account in Aussie, then yes you can deposit the money straight in.

If he has it in NZ it will still cost to get it into his NZ account.

Westpac NZ and Westpac Aussie don't talk to each other it seems, they are not one company, so they treat each other the same as dealing with a another banking company.

I don't know if Commonwealth bank is the same or better.

Paypal would have to be the easiest, well from my end.

Not sure about the exact procedure as I was on the receiving end. Worth noting that there is a small fee on the receiving end though, about 4%.
