ok i have been setting up my new engine with big cams etc and i decided to see how much the cams move in a std motor did the inlet and i do all of this with a dial indicator on the bucket at tdc any way the inlet is 5 thou at tdc and the cam will advance all the way to 250 thou lifter rise the exhaust is 55 in the off posi and advances all the way to 150 so there you have it so 205 for the exhaust and 255 for the inlet when you go to big cams and big valve releifs it becomes a bit tricky as the most you can advance is about 210 thou lifter as on 230 lifter and 190 on the exhaust the valves will hit each other |
