Temperature & Oil Pressure Gauge

Hello everybody,

I dont know if its normal or abnormal, but sometimes when I am stopped on red traffic light, I can see that this gauge shows values higher than the usual values (on the middle), it usually shows level under the middle, but sometimes it shows higher levels, you can see the photo.
When it shows higher values the fan next to the radiator starts to work and a seconds later the meter show the usual level...

Could you please tell me if its normal??

As you can see the oil pressure meter doesnt work, when I turn on the engine the oil pressure meter just rise to that level, and never moves to higher levels, does anynone know whats happening here??
when I turn off the engine the meter goes down next to the L.

regards

Faulty dash cluster, remove it and send it to me. Thanks.

Has the oil pressure gauge ever worked? Could be a faulty sensor, or bad connection. Hopefully not just that you have no oil in your car as that never ends well.

The temperature going up when parked up isn't that abnormal in cars as there is no air flow over the raidiator until the fans kick in, so if you're in a warmer climate it can rise, but I haven't ever noticed it on the Altezzas I've been in before. If it only rises that much though not that big a deal.

**edit** Noticed this is posted twice and another topic on the same thing, try to keep it into one topic to make things easier**

Most likely the oil pressure sender, have you had someone check it out for you?

For the water temp, have you checked your coolant level? Fans going?

that sounds normal, your fans turn on when your engine temp exceeds a certain temp and then turn off again when the temps gets down to a required temp again. usually stoped at lights or driving slowly around town etc is when this works.

unsure about your oil pressure guage tho

your oil pressure sender is faulty or you have a short in your wiring. diagnose and replace accordingly

Maybe coolant issue??

The gurgling noise behind the dashboard means that cooling system needs bleeding to get the air out. Check level in the overflow tank behind the radiator cap. It's a bit of a pain of a job, but well worth it.

When mine is idling, the oil pressure is always slightly above 1/4 mark and the tempt is slightly above 1/4 too...
When cruising the oil pressure is at 3/4 mark and the tempt is at slightly above 1/4...hope this helps.

From previous very simlar experiences, one thing can cause this, thermostate. Change your thermostate B)

If you don’t change it soon, the excess water pressure will cause one of the rubber engine-radiator pipes to rupture/leak.

This noise usually comes from the air bubbles trapped in the hot air radiator inside the dashboard (for the cabin hot air). If your coolant level is correct, then it should go away after a while. Otherwise correct your coolant level.
I had this before, the noise disappeared after I added coolant.

Great... Im gonna chek that cause I hate that noise, so maybe this bubbles cause this overheating mark? is it correct?

regarding coolant... and the air conditioning pipes behind the dashboard, Have anyone aver touched the white plastic thing(inside this thing there are the air conditioning duct gates) where is the radiator from heating system?... when I touch that thing , it is too hot, it burns my hand so quickly... is that normal...
or maybe theres is a problem?

Yes, low coolant level means bubbles have gone through the system and hence the noise and the high temp level. This can also be another cause for the high temp level. Otherwise it can still be the thermostat.

In that white plastic is the airconditioning evaporator also. Its best if you find it in a manual and understand the structure. May be you have a leak from the cabin internal hot water radiotor. This will actually explain why you have low levels of coolant (if that is the case).

What sort of suggestions would you like?

Perhaps reword this so that we can understand what problem you are having with the heater so we can make helpful suggestions.

Have you resolved the coolant problem ie gurgling noise.

Get this fixed, check thermostat, then check if heater is running all the time.

Sounds like heater is on HEAT all the time, but until you get the others sorted who knows.

Hello guys, Im back.
I went to mechanic for the problem of the gurling noise, so the mechanic took out the radiator and he made a deep clean of the cells, then we made a bleeding of the cooling system, and added full red coolant.

The radiator cleaning and the beeding of the system resolved my 2 problems, the hight temperature, cause now the temp never pass the middle line of the gauge, and the gurling noise as well.

But after 2 or 3 months that sound came back, I dont know why, when I see the coolant level it seems that is decreasing, and in the reserve tank there is no coolant. So for now I guess there is a leek of coolant, or I dont know.

Regarding heating radiator inside of the cabin, Ive noticed that the forced air or heating air doesnt work, I bought the car discharged of refrigerant gas as well.
Do you have guys any idea of why I have these issues???

Thanks in advance!!

PD. Do you know guys where is the oil pressure sensor?... I need to check if it is ok!!!!

If you are in any way capable of diagnosing and repairing any of your issues then this link will provide ALL the info you need to locate, diagnose , R&R , repair any faulty part of your car. If this document doesn't make it easy - you should probably book it into your dealership for repair.

Hello, does anyone know why I cant obtain hot air from the AC system?, when I am driving more than half an hour the dashboard, near to te A/C controls is very hot, even in the clock, but when I want to obtain hot air it doesn work, I just obtain air at ambient temperature.

I still have the oil pressure gauge problem, still at the bottom of the meter, the only time it went up to middle was in the oil change last month... does anyone know which pin of the comb meter connector I should test?, any troubleshooting procedure?...

regards
