Altezza Tuning; best bang for bucks

im doing some research into the best bang for bucks on my altezza.
what is the best option available?
turbo the standard engine,supercharge standard engine,
engine swap for sr20,1jz or v8....
im only going to do it once and dont want to spend stupid money on it but i want it to be reliable.
any help greatly appreciated

Depends on what you want, they will all give very different feeling cars, in power delivery and weight distribution.

It's really all down to a personal preferance really.

And what is your budget, you say you don't want to spend stupid money but to one person stupid money is $20,000 to the next it's $5,000.

Also if you will do alot of the work yourself or a workshop.

Best bang for buck to get hp at a low budget is a bolt on turbo kit, but without touching the engine you will hit a ceiling that costs alot to push further.

I think you will need at least $10,000 cash before you start. Turbo/SC will cost that much, engine swaps at least that.

The worst thing about engine swaps is trying to get the car to behave like a stock one. Usually the computers don't talk to each other, dash lights stay on or other systems like climate control give up. The car goes OK but ends up a bit tatty and cheap.

Read some of the build threads and PM the guys concerned to find out what the worst problems were.
