Hey guys my rs200 turbo is going over to keith stewart over in fielding on Wednesday to go on the dyno which is about an hours drive from where i live, im running the apexi power fc, do yous reakon its ok to drive over or best to trailer it over, iv been driving the vehicle around and it goes so well, havn't push its limits yet tho ill wait til after the tune, also how much boost can i run on the factory valve springs, i herd no more than 10psi, mine running just over 0.5 bar which i think is about 8 psi correct me if im wrong, im not sure if my power fc has a basemap on it or not, as i brought second hand from ebay, is there anyway i can tell if im using the base map or not cheers

i trailered mine when i got it tuned. mine ran like shit az tho. do you have the n/a or turbo version of the power fc? did you lower your compression?

i have the turbo version of the pfc, um yes compression lowered 9.4.1 stronger rods and pistons etc. how are you getting on with your build bro

true, what brand pistons and rods are you using and where did ya source them from? i only run the n/a power fc tuned to suit, so you wont be running the airflow meter then if you have the turbo version? i may have to change to a turbo ver pfc yet depending what i do. i havent started my build yet, just priceing up bits and looking at my options at the mo. will be interesting to see how much power you get. whats it going to cost rough figure to tune with keith???

i have the st185 rods and mr2 turbo pistons been machined and heat treated etc, he quoted me $600 same as roskilda so yeah i cant wait to c what he can do, im just wondering if i should throw my 540 injectors in, does anyone know how to set these on the controller? iv gone 340/540=0.62x100=62.9% and 0.89-0.76= +0.13msec is that correct, does anyone know, ill let keith sort that out if no 1 can tell me

63% on injector and +0.02ms. Im running 530cc sard injectors and 64% and +0.02ms.

Probably a good idea to get them put in, then you dont have to worry about them later on.
Just wondering why you got the pistons heat treated? They worked perfectly fine before in my engine.

Hey man keith a real nice guy hes really laid back, yeah tune went well, no dramas what so ever oh except for the start we couldnt figure y the car keep stalling and about an hour later i said to him the traction control so we pushed the button to turn it off and boom it was mint lol basemap was 130kw at 7psi, i mange to get 154.1kw at 10psi which is shocking, so gota get a fuel regulator and a bigger turbo etc, but then again its a turbo altezza, stil alot beter and faster than the standard altezza, and sounds heaps nicer, love the turbo spoil up

yeah thats shocking im running the vf 8 turbo similar size to the td04 i herd and the 540cc injectors, im pretty sure he didnt know what he was doing, i dont think he has to much experience on the Apexi power fc.

tuning the VVTI properly will make a big difference to that number I reckon!

Get someone who's more familiar with VVTI.

Standard settings will be constantly adjusting the dynamic compression AWAY from where you want it to be for a low comp motor.

what did he use to tune it? hand controller or datalogit or??? hmm even mine makes more power, only 180kw and i thought it wasnt enough and u got similar mods to me apart from mines a apexi turbo kit. what size is your exhaust? maybe roskilda aint so bad after all. do you still run a afm?

vf8 is a little small for making power, though would be on boost fairly smartly.how much power are you wanting?

lots of gains to be made with tuning the vvt-i on the exhaust cam. thats where i got most anyway, roman is dead right, adjusting this is definitely a must given you're a low comp motor now.

na just running the standard fuel system, walbro pump and sard 530cc injectors. my compression was standard 11.5.1. but of course its not that in 2 of my engines cylinders at the mo..lol if you have the turbo version of the pfc you shouldnt have to run the afm as the turbo ver pfc runs a map sensor, unlike my pfc which is the n/a ver and i have to. im sure my vvti was played with as i dont feel it kick in at 5000 ish rpm like i used to.

i was hoping to get 200 at 10psi, thinking about going to someone else that has heaps of experience on how to tune the vvti and the apexi power fc

my map sensor is hooked up, but when i disconnect my afm, the car keeps stopping therefore i have to have it on to have the car running

On mine it's using the MAF for off boost and MAP for on boost, don't know if that's the same for yours, but you also have to remember the factory MAF sensor also has the intake temp sensor built in to it.

You must have a special PFC turbo version, mine still uses the AFM - no MAP sensor. I would like to have MAP, easier to tune, bit more scope aswell.
