hey guys I had this happen twice already. On the 2 occasions, i was accelerating hard (full throttle) and the throttle will stick and the car will just limiter bash by itself. only thing i can do is put the clutch in, pull over and turn the car off. if you restart the car, it will limiter bash again. after keeping the car off for 15mins or more, it will be fine again. From what i have searched, they're listed issues with the electronic throttle bodies on these cars, but i haven't read anything like my case. my car is a converted is200 with a G1 altezza 3sge beams, running a power fc. i cant replicate the issue either. its random. any ideas guys? |

Power FC's and the Throttle Bodies have issues. This is similar to what happened in mine at one stage and the throttle body had to be replaced. If you do replace it just remember there are two Part numbers for the Throttle Bodies. One pre 2001 and one after. |

Also check that it's not something silly like the pedal getting stuck under the carpet, have had this happen in the Altezza and several other Toyotas, I pull the carpet back quite often now just to be safe. |

i thought it was the carpet the first time it happened. but the second time it happened, i was just pressing the accelerator repeatedly and it seemed to move fine (while it was limiter bashing by itself) |

The fact that it resolves itself after the car has cooled down suggests to me that the butterfly valve might be getting stuck open??? How about you take your throttle body appart and give it a clean/service? |

I have heard a few cars having that issue but they are generally cars from the 80's with gummy throttle bodies. Power FC is an unknown variable for most people unfortunatly! |

I've got a spare throttle body motor kicking around here if you end up needing one. |
