Radiator Cap

Yes exactly so using a higher radiator cap will raise the boiling point of water to around 230 deg celcius. Add a little coolant and water wetter for a safety gap on hot days and in a 1.3bar system you will never over boil.

The ideal coolant is pure water as it transfers heat to the radiator core more efficiantly then any glocol based fluid. All they are designed for is inhibiting rust and preventing boiling/freezing.

Some tracks wont even allow you to use glycol based coolant including wsid...

If this is untrue then why are we even using water why not go all out and put 100% elthlene glycol. Riddle me that...

I think you may mean deg Fahrenheit. I know those technical websites can get a bit confusing. And for the record, I haven't even started discussing the coolants themselves, only system pressures.

The whole argument in itself is based on running what coolant to water ratio under a 1.3bar system. My question is why up the pressure when you dont need to, its not like your going to run 15 laps on a super hot day with the aircon on!

So my advise is improve your efficiency and half your coolant ratio ffs how is that wrong?

And fyi race tracks wont let you on with glycol based coolant because it slicks the track if you burst a hose ect. I know this but it doesnt stop street machines and funny cars blasting down there in under ten running only water and wetter..

Distilled water = best coolant ever...

Stop ass clowning around, the OP has a stock 3s-ge. There is nothing extraordinary about his setup, Toyota coolant at the reccomended conc. with a new cap will take care of this side of things. Don't make something so simple harder than it needs to be.

Why stress the system for nothing but? Why not get the most out of your system and drain half keep it for a future coolant change and have a more efficient system is all im saying jeez your a Nazi

Thanks for all the info. Just dropped it off at Toyota they doing a pressure test and refilling with new 1.3 cap
I will let you know what they say

How did this go?
