I know that my engine is a swap and it could be a number of issues but Im stumped and I jsut dont know where to start looking. Since Ive wired it all up, 70% of the time it starts first pop. The other 30% of the time it just cranks over. After either running or cranking if i check the error codes I get the same 3, #14/#15/#21 (igniters/oxy) so i dont think its to do with any of them. After checking I always leave the battery unconnected to clear the codes to start from scratch. Ive have used a multimeter to check that the ecu is getting 12v to all inputs and that the earths carry connectivity to chassis / engine. When it doesnt start I unplug the injectors to check that they get shorted to earth by the ecu and they do. I also check the plugs are sparking and they do. The later leads me to beleive crank angle is working fine or i wouldnt get spark. To me air in + fuel + spark = go ... but only 70% of the time. Help, i dont know what else to check. |

If you measure the resistances through the sensors via the computer plug & post them up, I can post up the readings I got when I did the same. After logging all the sensor resistances I found there was nothing wrong with any of them, so I assume my readings are correct for a working unit. A couple of errors automatically generate each time you turn the ignition on as the motor is not running at the time. I can't remember which numbers they were. |

greeneyes - sorry for the slow delay. have been working on other facets of the car that require work and have had engine out of the bay for a bit. Hope to get it back in the hole and wired again next weekend. Do you have a list of ones you could post for us to test against. assume you meant cam, crank, tps etc etc and did you measure against engine earth ? Q |
