Is there any recommendations of what i should get done on the vehicle before getting a cert, is it true iv got to upgrade my brake calipers and get a strut bar etc, any idea on what is cost to get a lvv cert? Help would be much appreciated cheers guys. |

No, VTNZ don't do certs. The list of certifiers is here |

Expect to pay $400-500 for cert, certifier will let you know if any aditional mods are required. There a few other cert threads around here with other peoples experiences. |

don't think they'll be too worried about brake callipers(as long as they're WOF'able) or strut bars, but they will likely need you to put in a drive shaft hoop. |

Pretty much exactly that, stops you pole vaulting your car or the shaft comming through the floor to meet you if a uni fails. Bit of an overkill for the sort of power increase we are talking here IMO, but they seem to be flavour of the month at the moment so yeah will probably get stung for them. |

The only thing im worried about is my front mount, i had to drill holes in the front crash bar so i could pop rivet my bracket on to hold my front mount, im not sure if we are allowed to drill into that, can anybody confirm me on that? Thanks |

should be fine, depending on how big and where the holes are. the bumper support(the aluminium bar going across the front) isn't strictly speaking a structural member. -- and yeah it most likely was me. i sold my old C-west style bumper a while back, and i haven't seen any other two tones in Welly (well except from a few CF bonnets and unpainted crash repairs :D). |

Only think I had to do for cert was put drive shaft loops in my old altezza. That was in December 2011. They wont pull you up for anything to do with your crash bar as it isn't structural, Hell I didn't even have my bar on as the front mount took up the space. Cost me $420 |

Ideally you'd want it as close to the diff if possible, the idea is that if the flange breaks the hoop will catch the shaft and prevent it digging into the road and launching your vehicle into the air. You'd also want one just behind the gearbox if im not mistaken. Strange how you guys all have to put these hoops in, mine flew through a cert without them. Also they can certify the front mount at the same time, I actually cut a section out of the bottom of mine to fit the intercooler. |
