Hi, I was thinking about improving the power of my tezza RS200 Z 6MT Beams, and I was thinking about buying a new aftermarket ECU, I would like to know if you have some suggestions about this ecus.

Toda
Power FC
Haltech E8
Toms

Which is the one which can give me more power at low rpms, I was trying the car on drag but I feel it a little dumb. I have Stock internals, and pod Filter which I unplug when I wanna try some drag, Exedy stage 2 clutch, and this Jasma muffler that I dont know which brand is, but people tell that this muffler make the car more dumb, is similar to this muffler

Ive got some pics

Any suggestion to make the car ready for 15sec on 1/4 mille

Get rid of the pod filter and put back the factory airbox. You'll notice an immediate improvement in low and midrange power

There's not too much you can do to improve the low end, short of forced induction.

Well, there's always this :D

Any of the ECUs except the TOMs are fully tuneable so it doesn't really matter it's down to personal preference of the tuner.

As for getting better drag times, it will do bugger all as it may gain you maybe 10-15Kw which wont make a huge difference.

The biggest gain will be in your driving, tyres, your driving, weight, your driving, getting rid of the podfilter, your driving, giving your car a good service, your driving.

What time did you get? How far off 15sec are you?

My driving is ok I guess, I have stock rims 17", I know the pod filter is a problem, if I would like to apply some improvement, what should I do? camshaft? pulleys? to gain extra HP?... dou you have idea of something basic Im not considering?

Camshafts will give you a gain, quad throttles, high comp pistons, we can't just tell you to do random things without knowing your budget.

Lighter rims, lower tyre pressure, etc. Pretty sure even stock the RS200 should be able to crack in to the 15s.

What time are you currently getting?

*edit* Just saw on Toyspeed a member has done a 15.9 sec.

Thanks for your support Soiled, by the way I am from Peru, Lima Peru, nice to meet you.
My budget for now is at least 1000 USD, I was looking for someone who can manufacture throttles, but the 4th gen 3SGE Beams vvti is not so popular as the 3th gen 3SGE beams, so I couldnt find this part, every part I bought for the tezza came from ebay sellers in USA, but I know I need throttle, if you know where I can find and pay with credit card, I will be grateful. Time is not problem. Do you know where I can find a Power FC not so expensive as in Ebay?... Ive hard Haltech E8 is a huge problem due the new wiring. About rims, cheap and lighter rims I could fin the Kazera rims, but only in USA, what about 16" rims?

I would like to know your comments on this muffler, its seems is Jasma, but I guess this muffler make the car a little dumb.

Thanks in advance

16" rims are fine aslong as you can get them to clear the brakes.

The muffler will have little to no effect on your HP unless it's a smaller diameter than factory or collapsed.

The biggest gain in the exhaust would be the headers and the mid pipe (Where the cat is) as this goes down to 2 1/4" where as the rest is 2 1/2" from memory.

Quad throttles have been covered a million times on this forum if you use the search function you can read up on them, most people use modified 4AGE throttle bodies, a guy on this forum makes his own quad set ups and sells them (CelicaRA45) and is the one with the most knowledge and actual proof on gains in the set up and probably the most knowledgeable on NA gains as he seems to have done lots of different things with dyno run proof.

But in the long run getting gains and staying NA is going to be big money with little gain (Sounds great when done right though!!)

The cheapest way to get hp is forced induction, don't know if you want to go down that route or not.

PowerFCs for these cars tend to stay at a pretty high price, but they are plug and play so no wiring cost. Basically you'll just have to keep your eye on places like ebay or NZs Trademe to find one, or importmoster.

Weight reduction on the car (and yourself if you have a couple extra kgs), lowering the tyre pressure, and practice will give you the biggest gains for no money though :)

I would like to try NA for now, with the stock parts Ive destroyed many Subarus WRX, VW GTI MK5 on 1/8 mille, but without pod or airbox filter, stock ECU, and Exedy stage 2.
I wanna play with this engine for now, next year Im gonna swap into a 1JZGTE Single turbo, the only problem I have here is the gearbox...

I have some more question, Is it reliable to turbo a 3SGE?, I guess the engine life would not be the same, and the boost presure would be too low...

It'll be as reliable as your tune, I ran 16psi with all kinds of crap tunes and it lasted 30,000km's.

If you threw forged pistons and rods at it then you'll have no problem.

Just buy a GReddy kit (TD04 good for 220KW with appropriate modifications) and intercooler and be done bolted on you'll get approx 160Kw. For a little extra power you could run up to 10PSI with but its recommended that you get at least 1.6mm head gasket for reliability which will drop your compression to 10.5:1. With a good tune and caldina injectors/fuel pump this could get you close to 200KW.

If you wanted more power and have more to spend then open up your engine, drop cp down to 9:1 with low comp pistons. You would also want to get some better rods, race bearings, arp head studs, strengthened valve springs and new stem seals. This will allow you to run a bigger turbo say a GT2871 (even a GTX3071r if you had more to spend) and more boost at higher rpm. Also You would need to control all this with at least a Link G4 but a motec M400 would be a better option and you would need to get your fueling right with a decent fuel pump and 1000cc injectors.

With the right supporting mods and this combo, you could put down close to 300KWatw on a conservative tune.

Anyone here knows who made 1JZ single turbo swap? I think this is the better way, I need contacts to give me some advices, if I could use my gearbox or which gearbox I can take, I guess gearbox is the main problem here, how I can make good engine mounts, which bearings, if I run stock internals with open ECU and a bigger turbo...

No you cant use your gearbox. Use a R154 or V16x. Use IS300 engine mounts. You can use a JZ ECU to run your engine and your IS200 ecu to run everything else but the best way to go is to buy a standalone.

Leiden do you know where I can find forged pistons for the altezza? (im not considering toda pistons)

Nick Chiew From North Shore Toyota in New Zealand can supply CP pistons at a very reasonable price, wiseco have also been used but Toda are the best option. You might also want to get a set of Eagle rods or if you have a little extra to spend I bought Carrilo rods TO-3SG>-65433S. Regardless of the brand you go with the most economical option is to buy later gen 3SGTE rods for a ST205 celica and have the pistons fabricated to support the rods as the small end is larger.

Wiseco does not manufacture pistons for 3SGE, I know it, but where I can find CP pistons for 3SGE??
