Yes. (Same part number rods as Caldina 3SGTE) If the pistons you have change the rod/stroke ratio by having the mounting pin higher up, you will need the rods to match. |

Half right. The earlier 3SGTE rods were wider at the piston end, you may need to shave off a few mm off the rod or piston. Same length tho

as roman said, the conrods are the same length and diameter big and small ends between 3sge and 3sgte. as nick said the thickness at the small end varies between 3sge and 3sgte it depends on the generation of motor as to how thick they are. the earlier the gen motor the thicker and heavier they are. |

Just using the Toda low comp 2045cc pistons. Thanks for the info guys. Probably going to source some Early gen 3SGTE rods from Carrillo or Eagle and machine the pistons to suit. |

machining the rod is alot easier. and cheaper if you have to pay someone to do it. once you get down to actually doing it you will understand |

ST205 Eagle rods with the top machined, still ends up half the price of the TODA rods and are forged not just shot peened as I'm lead to believe the TODA items are. |

Toda I-Beam rods ARE Stock rods that are shot peened. Not interested in them at their ridiculous prices at all. The pistons on the other hand are forged and are perfect fit and compression for what I need them to be but finding a forged rod to suit that wont cost me my left kidney is like finding a needle in a haystack! Ive settled with just getting some carrillo or eagle rods and machining them or the piston to suit (That will be on the advise of my engine builder). |

Im running the same setup in my engine - Toda low comp pistons and eagle 3s-gte i-beam rods. I picked the set of 4 rods up 4 $695 I think it was. Got the pin end of the rod machined down to suit the piston - think there was about 1mm taken off either side from memory. Just a bit of FYI ![]() Cheers Corey |

I can still get Eagle (ESP H-Beam Connecting Rods) 3SGE rods for: $570.00+GST for VIP members ![]() Think they might even do SXE10 specific rods but need to check at work |

What fasteners are they using though Nick? Corey, I wasn't aware Eagle did I beams for the 3SGTE. Do you remember the part number or were they a custom rod? Im pretty keen on building a high rpm turbo so the rods are extremely important given the piston travel and weight. Im still on the fence about using H beam and I beam rods. The arguments for and against sound too much like personal preference but just going of a basic knowledge of mechanical engineering and physics I would say the I Beam type would be more appropriate for my application given that I want to stay in the high RPM range. On a side note, has anyone heard of anyone throwing cranks? (Stock bearing issues aside lol). Its my understanding that the 3S cranks are all identical, is that true? |

They use the 3/8" ARP-2000 rod bolts ![]() Sorry the Eagle rods I get are the same for all 3SGE/GTE engines, so machining will be required to suit an Altezza piston. Also have access to custom made CP Pistons for the SXE10 3SGE. $910.00+GST @ VIP price for the pistons! 8.5:1 CR with OEM Toyota 0.8mm headgasket
