Did you ...

A. Clean the MAF sensor
B. Clean the butterfly intake
C. None of the above but need to do so

I find the car tends to do this when its relearning the trim's.
I cleaned my butterfly intake in the weekend and I had this for a couple of days as the computer relearns.

All gone now ;)

Yea definitely if the Ecu is relearning it will hunt around between 600-2000rpm and it sounds bad but it's normal if it's still doing it after a week then you might have a problem but I'd say it will be fine by then

Cold weather can bring this on too if you have had an unusually cold snap. If you havent cleaned your maf in the last year I would be cleaning that and the rest of the intake including the TPS

I realize it mainly happens when I have a cold start, once the engine is warm it starts fine.
