after reading here and there about having an intake for an IS200, and it doesnt seem to be a good idea to have one. but it seems like Simota has made one up. so was wondering what people thought or has anyone got one? http://www.simota.com/productsinfo.php?ID=679 Cheers William |

In my unprofessional opinion give it a go. It appears to be all enclosed which means no hot air & depending on what the filter is.. oil based or not which will mean you will just be cleaning the MAF a little more often? Probably less turbulent air also than an open pod filter. |

Have done one for a customer in the past, got it in for approx $325.00+GST (NZD) off the top of my head and took about a week to arrive to me! Idea works, cold air is always better than hot air! |

So i decided to be a test pig and gave the Simota a try. Thanks to Anthony from Shift Performance for getting it for me. $259 + 20$ delivery to melbourne isn't so bad. had to wait about 2 weeks for it come in, since they didnt have any in stock.![]() It's really simple to install, pretty much plug and play. all brackets and mounts included. give or take 20mins all up. Result: ![]() ![]() it doesn't go down to the foglight which i was hoping, but it didn't matter. i'll eventually do a DIY for it. but overall, really does fill up that engine space on a IS200, some more bling if you like. Sound is very subtle, gives it a nice hum with a HKS hipower silent at about 4000rev. Taking it for a test run on the freeway, throttle response was a lot better and smoother. low end was a bit better than stock, but once it got to approx. 50km/h, you can notice the car pick up around the mid range section. Overall, great product and a good price. So if you're a 1G-FE owner that wants a little more kick from the IS200, recommended. |

Thats sounds to good to be true but kudos for you for taking the leap! Be interested to see a before and after dyno. If you had made a fitting for ram CAI it would give you an exceptionally good response on the freeway! |

Just make sure you fit your CAI first and find a dyno with a bfo fan to simulate road speed
