I saw this on couple of other forums, its great for keeping the forum rolling over and gives you some where to yarn about what you have done to your pride and joy :D

Lets get it going. It can be anything from 'drooled over her, sitting the garage to chucking in a 2jz

To start us off, today before work i finished painting up my stock chrome grill to black and painted my Altezza Emblem so now its blue to go with the body colour.

Going to be painting the headlights and tails tonight

Not quite something I did today but during the weekend.

Swapped in a new Deschwerks DW300 fuel pump and converted my non return setup to a return setup using a SpeedFlow 90deg bulk head fitting and -6AN hose.
Blocked the intank reg with some sealant and a large rivet :)

Not the tidiest but shall do the job no doubt!
Shall see what I can find in stainless ties rather than the Otara styled plastic cable ties!

Good idea starting this thread Andy

This morning I replaced my paper air filter with an HKS Super Hybrid dry filter.

I had earlier removed the K&N as I'm not too keen on oil sucking in sticking to the MAF sensor, etc.

Testing different fuels for fuel economy at the mo, will be interesting with the new HKS fitted. :P

Good luck with the headlights and tails mod, chuck some pics up when you're done!

What about last night?

I removed, reconditioned and replaced my alternator, then tested the charging system.

Made up some spacers to provide some clearance from a universal joint and my fuel tank. Fitted said spacers.

Then drove for an hour to attempt to revive the dead battery and test the spacer mods.

Result: no more driveline bangs
Solid charging voltage of 14.8v at the b post.
One dead optima yellow top battery - overheating and venting like a mofo - I guess it didn't like sitting dead flat for 7 months.

Has some fun in the old girl like I hadn't had in ages. Blazing tyres into 3rd on 12psi put the first smile on my face regarding this project in a long while.

I looked at the empty space in my garage, read a few threads and wondered where the hell you all get the money for modding your cars and where i can get the same . . . :D

I've had mine installed for about 3 months.
Didn't provide the more noticeable difference usually swapping to a K&N does but it's still a bit better than the factory replacement.

Just need to wash it every few months and watch for any ware of the foam filters.
Idle seem's to breath a bit easier.

I thought i would throw this up to show what the grille/badge looks like:

Posted Image

The grille looks alot darker in person and the badge is a bit darker, sadly my iphone likes to make things shiny apparently.

(ignore the dirty car...washed it 2 days ago damn cats and roadworks!)

Hey Nick,

Just a note regarding your return fuel hose. Even though it is braid, that hose is most likely not rated for immersion in fuel. There are special hoses designed for this (stupid $$$ - buy by the cm over here). If it isnt it will swell and disintegrate. Same with the red tape, it will come apart and block fuel filters etc.

Best to change it now before you have a messy cleanup or a failure.

Thanks for that Matt, the hose I got is rated for fuel immersion (was $7.50+GST per 10cm so wasn't too bad I guess!) so that's fine.
It's the dual stainless braided over NBR hose which is also OK for immersion even in E85 :D

The tape was only there for me to get ends of the braid tucked in while pushing it up, has since come off :)

Good stuff, should have known you'd be all over it. When I did mine braided submersible hose was not available.

I made this mistake twice would you believe it!

This is why god invented serviceable billet fuel filters !

Too true but they are right round the corner from my work and offer decent price compared to the rest.

Had to go in there twice because they failed to cut my dimensions and the hose clamps they have are rubbish...
