Okay, so maybe we have been approaching this from a wrong angle. Perhaps the idea of setting up for "non-masters" exclusively was a bad idea, as it would open too big a can of worms to keep it at least a little realistic, once we consider all the details.
But what about a board somewhere for "long-distance interaction", so to speak. Could be used by character who communicate through letters, or for all kinds of electronic communication, be it pages on "iFriends", emails, IM chats or whatnot?
A general board like that would require slaves to police themselves, in a manner of speaking, when it comes to what they could - or could not - realistically put online without arousing too many suspicions from their masters, but it may be a possible compromise.
Any thoughts?

That sounds good to me. It leaves things ultimately up to the Master to decide whether or not slaves are allowed to participate, which allows that some slaves might sneak and do it.
It's ambiguous enough to work, in my opinion.

Okay, I created a new sub-board for it in The Whole Wide World. Gonna add to the official announcements in about... 0.5 liters coffee.
