SEATTLE (Reuters) - Microsoft Corp (MSFT.O) said on Wednesday its Xbox 360 game machine beat Nintendo Co Ltd's (7974.OS) Wii and Sony Corp's (6758.T) PlayStation 3 to reach 10 million units in U.S. sales. "History has shown us that the first company to reach 10 million in console sales wins the generation battle," Don Mattrick, a Microsoft senior vice president who heads the company's Xbox business, said in a statement. The Xbox 360 was the first of this latest generation of game machines to launch in the United States when it was released in November 2005. The PS3 and Wii were launched in the United States a year later. The Wii is closing in on the Xbox 360, with 8.8 million units sold as of the end of March, while Sony has totaled 4.1 million PS3 units sold, according to market research firm NPD. Microsoft also said global membership of its Xbox Live online service reached 12 million members. (Reporting by Daisuke Wakabayashi; Editing by Braden Reddall) |

The Wii wins this round. The best console lost, the PS3 may pull it out in the end but Nintendo has kicked everybody's arse by getting women and older people on board, it's only gonna get worse with wii fit coming out. I find it hilarious that the piece of crap they call a Wii is gonna win, the PS2 woulda killed it 4 years ago, but hardcore gamers are not the deciding factor I guess. Hardcore gamers would have chose the PS3 on console alone, and Xbox 360 for online. If the PS3 wanted to stop the Wii it would just offer PS Live for 50 bucks a year( with EVERYTHING the Xbox has ) and then we might have a fight, but as it stands that low tech Wii is winning and nobody can stop it. |

You're looking at what they want you to see Noz. Look at all the figures and the Wii has by far the lowest software sales of any console. No one is buying games for the Wii. Most people who buy it are staying with Wii Sports and stuff like that. And the 360 is only doing well in the US, which the PS3 is catching up on by the way. |

All Sony has to do is Match Xbox Live. If they do that..Game Over. Sony will crush Nintendo and prolly become bigger than ever. Online is the hole in the bottom of the PS ship..it's leaking a lot of money |

Once again i say whooooo givvvvesssss a fucccckckckckckckkkkkkkkk....... Competition breeds greatness. the ps3 is a great machine. The 360 is a great experience. I hope no one ever wins. Cause all that will happen if one dose is it will stop the innovation and gaming will die. |
