Procrastination is a hell of a thing -------------------------------------------------- Scenes open to a condo in Jersey City overlooking the waterfront. The sounds of a few jetskis and boats riding along the waves were a familiar sound but soon that will be a thing of the past. With October being in full swing with cold days and nights, it would only be a matter of time until the waterfront would once again be quiet and plagued with darkness before seven o'clock. Jason stared quietly from the window in his father's bedroom into the waters. His cold calculating eyes took a break once in awhile to look at various people wearing their scarves and leather jackets to deal with a rather Winter-like Autumn. Of course once in awhile, you'd see an odd siting like a man in shorts walking along like it's summer but it was no denying that the later part of the year was upon them. However, he was hoping that where he would be heading today would be a bit warmer. He dressed as warmly as he could wearing a long sleeve black shirt and a brown leather jacket over it with jeans and brown Timberland boots. He soon looked at his watch and realized in a few hours his plane would be ready to depart. His father had left early for work. They had a talk the night before about him leaving - discussing business and Jason's departure to Nevada. It was the same as other nights where the two would show no emotion to one another. It was a house but a house is not a if home without love - if there was any sort of love between the two relatives it most certainly couldn't be seen from the exterior. Jason walked out of his father's room with the great over-look and went into his own that consisted of four walls and other various bedroom-items. Laying on one half of his queen-sized bed was his luggage that was already packed. He quickly zipped it up and placed it on the carpeted floor. He headed over to his computer chair where his gym bag hanged from it's strap and put it on the bed. Unzipping the gym bag he grabbed the ticket out of it and zipped it back up. He had to hurry as he couldn't afford to miss his flight. Jason slings the strap of his gym bag over his shoulder and wheels the luggage out of the condominium. He locks the door behind him and heads off to the parking lot. Earlier this year after his twenty-first birthday, most of his time was spent doing security at one of his father's many night clubs. As he placed his luggage in the back seat of his blue Toyota Matrix, the drinks and the fights ran through his mind. Some nights were a blur and some were just as clear as HDTV. Hell he even moved out and got a girl but his father was controlling and choose not to pay him until he moved back home. Now he was his own man a few months later and was ready to make a living doing what he saw as an interesting and decent paying job. He looked at the world of professional wrestling as a place where he could take out his misplaced anger and get paid for it. You rough up customers too much in the night club scene and you're looking for a visit by a local attorney - in the wrestling world the worst off you are, the better. Jason got into the driving seat, prepared to head to a new life. He wasn't sure where it would see him as most people who went into wrestling had connections or wanted it since they were little. He wasn't a crafty veteran, just a couple of classes spread it from last year to this year that taught him the technical aspect of wrestling along with the basics. He had a decent array of tricks up his sleeve. He reversed out of his parking spot and drove off to the airport. After leaving his car in long term parking, he heads to the airport. As he sits in the chair, waiting for his flight to arrive as scenes fade. Scenes change to Jason wearing a black v-neck shirt with a pair of blue jeans and black sneakers. He stands infront of the back of the arena. He stretches and yawns after what seems like a long night and heads inside the building. He sees various staff members walking around getting things done at the last minute. He walks around the corridor, biding his time before he has to wrestle his first match. Soon he hears hurried foot steps coming towards him, he looks over his shoulder to see a young woman with a microphone. He turns around slowly and stares at her. She is a bit thrown off at his deameanor but she soon gathers herself, not willing to back down. She clears her throat and approaches him. Jackie Camini: Welcome...Jason Williams right? Jason: Well if you don't know, there isn't much for us to speak of? Right? Jackie Camini: I know who you are, Jerzey Devil and I'm also aware of your anti-social demeanor but if you can swallow your pride for a few minutes and answer these questions I can let you be well on your way. Jason: Anti-social demeanor? If you're aware of it you should be aware of my short temper as well. I'd like to send a message to the rest of Majestic, now if you want to be the person I use to send that message to that's fine by me as well. Listen to yourself, telling me you can "let" me go on about my business as if you give me orders. No one gives me orders, do you understand that? Jackie Camini: No one threatens me either, do you understand that or would you like me to tell Allocco and you are fired from your first real job? Jason is a bit shocked at her response but regains his composure staring back at her. Jason: Ask your stupid questions, already. Jackie Camini: How do you feel about your match against "Dangerous" Dan Jacobs? Jason: Another UFC mixed martial arts brat coming into a wrestling federation because that worked oh so well in the past...I've dealt with kids like him. They learn a few moved, they do kick this and flip that outside the club after being loaded full of liquor then get hit with one hard right hand by me. They drop and get carried away like the failures they are. Jacob is another kid following a pipe dream that will lead to nowhere. If you come in here tring to play Chess with Checker pieces - expect to be schooled and thrown out like the chump you are. We can go on and on about this kid but at the end of the day he has his reasons for being here as much as I do. Jackie: Why are you here? Jason: Outside of bordem? I couldn't tell you but I figure that hanging around this company with give me a reason to stay. Jackie: What title do you intend to chase after? Jason: Wrestlers, titles, and other things are irrelevant to me until I've truly surveyed the landscape. If they choose to put me one place that's fine but if not, I'll take my time picking out which division to join then rip their champion from limb to limb. Whatever I decide, I promise who I put my sights on will have a hand full but for now it will have to be taking down Dan Jacobs. Jackie: Do you think you will truly put down our resident martial arts newcomer? Jason: I'm into the business of predicting wins but I can guarantee you he will not leave out the ring as the same man he was when he entered it. Williams sneered and walked away as Jackie looked on a bit worried while scenes fade. |
