Oh no problem, bro. Thanks for the continuing support. Might I refer back to something a friend of mine from the forums once said? I'd also like to note that this was a couple of pages ago in this thread. And who was it who wanted to continue the discussion? Alright, I've had my fun, but you get my point. We've covered pretty much every aspect of what appeared to be from the start a minimal discussion. As for stages, that will be a whole other topic all-together, so please do NOT talk about them yet. It was really a stretch for me allowing items in the discussion since , but I did so because without including it the discussion probably wouldn't have lasted nearly as long as it did, but I don't want to include what would otherwise be in another topic in this one just for the sake of elongating it unnecessarily. Also, you must understand that even as it is, it is going to take me a while to come up with the winners of the accolades and to count the word totals and what not. So I would appreciate everyone's patience this time around since I do have schoolwork that happily loves to get in the way as well. If anyone ignores me like the last topic, it will probably just result in me deleting your post; nothing too harsh. But I may feel inclined to be silly and edit your post saying, "I am the most rebellious little rebel that ever rebelled." Let me know what you guys think of that idea! XD Yes, I will definitely let you know when I have decided the winners for sure. Until then, if you really have the urge to work on it, you can always get a head-start on some of the obvious little changes since you do know most of the accolades still (although a couple will most likely be added). Anyway, consider this topic CLOSED. If you are really sad about this, I can always add very mini topics at the end when I run out of ideas, but that shouldn't be for quite some time from now. |

I came up with more ideas for the topic I CAME UP WITH! Also... Maybe you should make your own banners? Edited by Kouzetsu, 29 Feb 2012, 04:10 AM.

Honestly, what difference would it make? MvS's banners already look fantastic, so I don't see any reason not to continue using them. Plus, I'm not beating around the bush or anything, I'll flat-out say that I lack any real skill in the art of Photoshop or Paint.net, although I do have minimal access to them both. I'm just wondering what problem you have with the current banners...? |

I have no problem. MVS has a lot of work to do already on the site so it'd just make it easier for her. ![]() But I suppose it is her decision. |

Presenting... Endgames Accolades #2! It's that time of the thread once again! This is Endgame Accolades, where I will present the rewards for the deserving members based on the award categories shown below! As always, the banners are provided by MariovSonic, but I handpicked the winners fair and square! Enjoy and feel free to use these banners in your signature if you won anything as always! Also, only things specifically about the second topic are included in these accolades! This means that any posts from the first topic and anything off-topic in this topic are not included! Participants In This Topic (in order of their entrance): Pokemon Z RPG, MariovSonic, Kouzetsu, chronokatz The Accolades Most Talkative: Description The Winner and the Totals Most Quantitative: Description The Winner and the Totals Most Outlandish Idea: Description The Winner and Idea Brightest Ideas (in no particular order): Description The Ideas Most Recited: Description The Winner and the Totals Most Valuable Poster: Description The MVP And that's it! Thanks a ton to MariovSonic again for the awesome new banners! They came out just as awesome as I'd imagined them! I should have the next topic posted sometime this weekend, so look forward to that! But as always, your patience is appreciated! If you do have some suggestions for endgame accolades, let me know, but I will most likely be more picky this time around since now I already have so many that take quite a while to put together, too. Don't feel discouraged, though, because I will definitely take them into consideration! I hope to see you all participating in the next topic! |

v Thanks to MariovSonic for helping me again and making me this banner! v Topic #3: The Forgotten Characters in Smash Bros. ![]() To put it lightly, there are a LOT of characters in Smash Bros. as a series that seem "forgotten", but are thrown into the franchise as "Nintendo icons". But are they really? There is no denying that all of these characters have made impacts on the lives of many as Nintendo characters and franchises, but at what point do you say "Okay, you're time in the spotlight is over." With this topic, I hope that we can cover all possibilities of these characters' futures with Smash Bros. and Nintendo as a whole. This topic will probably reach further out of simply their roles in Smash Bros., but what will happen to these characters in general! The reason that these characters are considered "forgotten" is because they haven't received installments in their respective franchises for years and may be long overdue for one. We will discuss if we think they will be in Super Smash Bros. 4, as well as go on to discuss if we think there will be new games in their franchises soon or if they are done as a franchise overall. I STRESS THIS NEXT STATEMENT VERY MUCH: WE WILL BE DISCUSSING THIS ON A CHARACTER BY CHARACTER BASIS! DON'T START TALKING ABOUT ANOTHER CHARACTER IF WE ARE STILL TALKING ABOUT ONE CHARACTER. HERE IS THE FIRST CHARACTER UP FOR DISCUSSION: ![]() Ah, Mr. Game & Watch. Mr. Game & Watch first made his appearance in gaming in the year 1980, within Game & Watch Ball, Nintendo's first handheld LCD Game & Watch system. Since then, he has become the mascot for the Game & Watch series of handhelds as they helped to popularize handheld systems as a whole! He is technically the oldest Nintendo character and has appeared in an array of video games, making cameo appearances in games such as Donkey Kong Country Returns and Rhythm Heaven Fever. But, here's the catch: If you exclude all of his cameos and various re-releases of his old games, Mr. Game & Watch hasn't appeared in an installment of his own for many years, and for good reason. Obviously, the Game & Watch handhelds are a thing of the past, but this brings me to my question: What do you think will become of Mr. Game & Watch? I can almost guarantee right now that Mr. Game & Watch will never see another game of his own (aside from maybe things like the Game & Watch Collections or re-releases in the Virtual Consoles), but I am really curious to see what his fate will be. I recall hearing quite a while back that the reason he was included in Super Smash Bros. Melee and the series was because Sakurai wanted to honor the creator of Mr. Game & Watch because he had something to do with the creation of the series, or something along those lines. In that case, I would say Mr. Game & Watch will most likely be in Super Smash Bros. 4., especially since fans have become so accustomed to having him as a character since he has been in two thirds of the franchise. He is actually a really good character. In regards to his appearance to video games: I think he will continue to be "that cameo guy" for a while, appearing in the backgrounds of popular games and within obscure references. While I think it would be really interesting to see what they would do with it, I can't see there being any worthwhile potential in a full-fledged new Game & Watch game minus the old handhelds. So, what do you guys think? Do you think Mr. Game & Watch will be in Super Smash Bros. 4? And do you think he will appear in any more big video games in the future, or will he forever live his life as a cameo? Let me know what ya think! EDIT: Also, I edited the fancy first post of the thread! Edited by Pokemon Z RPG, 11 Mar 2012, 03:03 AM.

Mr. Game & Watch is a really awesome guy. He has one of the most balanced movesets of the mid-to-lighter weight class characters; what he lacks in long-range attacks he more than makes up for in movability. He will most certainly be showing up in Super Smash Bros. 4 -and rightfully so. The Game & Watch series will never make a comeback for obvious reasons. Though the potential of something somewhat similar -as in, a Nintendo multimedia device- appearing in the future is an interesting subject. It probably won't happen for another decade or so, but as the industry switches further to portability and convenience, I wouldn't rule it out. I guess trends sort of travel in cycles, huh? It's probably never going to happen, but I'd love to see a downloadable, all-new Mr. Game & Watch title in the future. I could see this working two ways. First, as a the traditional sort of mini-game collection where Mr. Game & Watch and company do all sorts of random, wacky things. And second -and my preferred game- is a huge platformer borrowing from his Super Smash Bros. moveset. I think his various tools and such could make for some interesting skills and power-ups, leading to some great progression and replayability. The most interesting prospect of a new Mr. Game & Watch game, in my opinion, is the graphical style it will take on. One of the most fascinating things about Mr. Game & Watch in SSB is watching his movements- it's so fun to see a limited-animation 2D character strolling along in a vivid 3D world. I could see so many interesting art styles for the game. Be it as a classical black-and-white only outing, the fish out of water look of Melee and Brawl, it'd look amazing. Personally, I'd probably go with a bright, fluid, cartoony 2D world with 3D effects, ala the Paper Mario series, to contrast Mr. Game & Watch's olde-timey appearance. But I digress. So yeah, Mr. Game & Watch. Out-of-date, but one cool dude. |
