Terumī Kazu (バキ メイ, lit. shining beauty, harmony) is a young Genin from Konohagakure no Sato. Some have described him as 'the meaning of happiness'. Kazu is always smiling, no matter the situation. Kazu typically comes across as happy-go-lucky, something that could be considered a flaw, as it often leads him into trouble. Despite this, he is extraordinarily determined. Kazu isn't the type to back down, even when the chances of success are zero. As his last name suggests, Kazu is a Terumī, something he is very proud of. He believes that his clan were, and still are one of the most powerful clans in existence, and won't let anyone tell him otherwise (he literally outright refuses the notion that there are clans stronger than his own). Though he has high determination and confidence, Kazu isn't exactly what you'd call a prodigy, unlike half of the Shinobi nowadays, no.. Kazu's Ninjutsu knowledge and skill is frankly poor. Though, this is where his determination makes up for it. Even with his poor skills, Kazu has the mindset that he can do ANYTHING if he focuses on it (though that isn't strictly true). Because of his lack of skill, he didn't manage to pass the Shinobi Academy until the late age of 11, when most of his friends were Genin. However, he didn't let this knock him down and continued to work until he eventually passed. Kazu is often called a Joker by others, as he is often pulling pranks on the older residents of Konoha, which has given him a somewhat bad reputation across his village..
