This here is the welcome thread for SUPERNOVA, the Hi there everyone~ <3 Since I'm super bored at work, I decided to finally fix this all up and such. I'll be editing things within the next couple weeks, such as rules, the character list -- all that stuff. But I wanted to get the rough version of this up now... because well... I'M OMG BORED. XD Since this thread is locked (I'm trying to keep it tidy! GENERAL RULES: ACTIVITY: you have to stay active. The last day of each month, any character that hasn't been active for a period of three weeks (your characters aren't either posting in their journals or taking part in an RP on the board) then your characters will be placed on the inactive list -- then wiped at the end of the week if they haven't been updated. CHARACTER LIMIT: there is no limit to the number of characters you can have -- but please be sure you can keep up with them all. BACKGROUND: Please have some previous knowledge of the SW universe (If you come in here and say "OMG I'M GONNA TAKE OUT MY PHASER AND KILL U" -- I swear I'll be beating your hide in seconds.) and the New Jedi Order -- since this does take place after it and all. It would also help to have knowledge of the Young Jedi Knight series too, since alot of the characters are punks from that series. I'm not saying you have to do extensive research of each and every SW book ever -- but know what happens in them. Know what the characters do, how they react, what happens to them in the longrun. It'll help the game work like a well-oiled... starfighter thing. PLOT: You're character must have a storyline, whether it's by themselves or with another person or a group -- there has to be something going on -- a story, if you will. EMOING AND WANGSTING EVERYWHERE is not a plot. SEX is not a plot. GIVING UP AND RETARDEDLY KILLING A CHARACTER just isn't cool. Plot is cool. Cool like jawas. And jawas pwn all. STUDY UP: you have the internet at your disposal, so you can easily use it to check on things like spelling names (please no "Tahari" or "Tenal Ka") and study up on anything crazy your characters might be planning to do. (Pregnancy, illness, anything of the sort.) LANGUAGE: correct grammar and spelling PLEASE. I know there's some words in the GFFA that are impossible to spell, so those can be exceptions (or you can use the internet to check spelling, like stated above, HEH!) - but if you spell silly things wrong, no. no. and no. As for curse words, Star Wars has it's own set, which is awesome -- hell & damn are also acceptable in the GFFA. But if I see the more colorful kind then you're getting pointed at laughed at cause those don't exist where these characters come from. If you're looking to join... shouldn't you know that already? POWERS: no god-modding, which means... you're character is not the most powerful thing in the universe. This all has to be played at a believable level. CHARACTER TRAITS: I know we're all on crack at some points, but PLEASE keep your character IC to an extent. If you're gonna play a canon character, know where they come from, how they think and so on. You can tweak them a bit, and make them grow and all that. But show us that you know what you're doing with canon characters. Make them MAKE SENSE. PERMISSION/WARNING: If one or more of your characters is thinking about doing something that will DIRECTLY AFFECT OTHER CHARACTERS, ask permission first so everyone's storylines don't drown in retardedness. Let people know what you're doing. I know it's nice to surprise people every once in awhile, people like plot twists --- but not ones like, "OH OOPZ, U MEAN WE DIDN'T TELL U ABOUT TEH SUICIDE PACT TEH ROGUE SQUADRON HAD. MY BAD, I THOUGHT WE DID... SURPRISE!" ....no. Just... no. GAME MODS: I'm your friend. We're your friends, I promise. Talk to us if something is bugging you. Who knows if we'll be able to help, but we'll try. Scouts honor and all that jazz. DELUSIONS: You aren't any of your characters. You're a human being playing fictional characters. I don't believe in "character bleed" and "omg i'm the only person who can play so-and-so right in the universe" ... this also leads me to: don't bring OOC problems into the game and don't take IC problems out of it. On a final note, IT'S A GAME. G-A-M-E. You PLAY it. You don't LIVE it. So don't crap out if you're character gets hurt somehow because IT'S NOT REAL. And I love you all. Onward to the next set of Supernova goodness, my children. |

HOW TO PLAY: // journals are used just as they come. They're journals. XD The characters write in them and react to different things such as things that happened, what they ate for lunch, how much they want to kill someone... you know, like real journals that we see HERE ON EARTH OMG. // obviously, if the players aren't on the same planet and near each other, AIM will be used as a "holonet chat program" -- the person sits in front of the screen and blabs. And since it's a holochat, the other characters can obviously see your character's face, so expressions (*smile*, *smirk*, etc.) are all seen. // AIM can also be used for roleplaying "in-person" -- where the characters will get together (one-on-one or in a group) and each take turns performing actions and speaking and so on. Board role-playing can also be used for this and usually will be, but if you want to get a scene done faster, you can take it to IM. // please, please, please when you're roleplaying "in-person" (whether it's AIM or board)... (Zekk will be our example.) DO NOT: ::walks in the room:: Hey guys! Blah blah blah! ::sits down:: Blah blah blaaaah. DO: Zekk stalked into the chamber, eyeing the patrons slowly. Emerald orbs narrowed for a moment, until the tense feeling in his head lifted and a smile crossed his face. "Hey guys! Blah blah blah words and speaking go here yay!" The ebony haired man slid a chair out from under the table and set himself in it, crossing his arms over his chest. Treat it like a book, like a piece of writing. Really get into the character. But please, no one/two/three word actions. It makes baby yoda cry. ;-; --------------------- RULES FOR POSTING YOUR IC STUFFS: Make sure you post them in the correct forum and have the characters in the subject line and the date (and place, if it's a roleplay) in the topic description line. [ - HOLONET CHATS: when you're using AIM to have one of your characters "chat over the holonet" with another (or group, depending). You ARE NOT required to post it (since there will be so many) ... but you are welcome to if you want. ] [ - COMPLETED ROLEPLAYS: where you are using AIM and roleplaying out a scene (or scenes) It is REQUIRED to post these. Post them in the COMPLETED ROLEPLAYS forum! Exceptions can be made, like if you want to keep part of your storyline secret and surprise everyone later. But exceptions must be checked first with either me or Tahiri - so PM one of us. XD We're lenient, don't worry.  ][ - ONGOING ROLEPLAYS: where you are using AIM and roleplaying out a scene - and you do not finish! Also, when you are performing/RPing a scene on the board. It is REQUIRED to post these. Post them in the ONGOING ROLEPLAYS forum! so we know you aren't done yet. When board roleplays/scenes are completed the thread will be moved to the COMPLETED ROLEPLAYS sub-forum. ] |

HOW TO JOIN: If I haven't scared you away yet and you'd like to join -- then this is the section for you. XD FIRST TIME PLAYERS: 1.) Choose a character you want to play. If it's a canon character, make sure they aren't already taken. And if it's an OC then you don't have to make sure they're taken. XD [ If you want to play an OC but can't think of a good idea, you can check out the character template section (OMG COMING SOON) on the site -- where we've compiled a few ideas for OCs that people are welcome to use. You could use one of those -- or just use them for inspiration. ] 2.) E-mail us at supernova.sw @ gmail.com with your character name -- if it's a canon character tell us why you want to play the character. If they're an OC - give us a little bit of background on them (what they do, where they're from -- stuff like that) --- then we'll reply and give you the go ahead. When you get that... 3.) Head on over to http://www.greatestjournal.com and get them a journal, also get them an AIM screenname -- then e-mail us back and let them know what they are so we can add your character(s) to the list. Also let us know if there's an actor you'll be using on icons, so we can update that list as well. (Just make sure it's someone not taken already. ;D) 4.) Make sure you login as your character and join the Supernova community on there. And friend all the other characters. Hehe~ 5.) The start playing!  CURRENT PLAYERS WHO WANT TO START A NEW CHARACTER: Make sure they aren't taken already and email me at supernova.sw @ gmail.com with the info. If it's an OC, tell me about them and all that jazz -- also tell me their journal name and AIM name. As well as what actor you'll be using for icons (if you'll be using one)... IMPORTANT NOTE: If someone (first time player, or someone already in the game) wants a character on the adoption list -- when you e-mail me, let me know if you want to take over the old journal/aim name and storyline... or if you'd like to start a new one with that character. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH! <3 I know I rambled forever but now I feel like I got something DONE HEH! And this thread is always being updated -- rules, character list, everything. So check it out every once in awhile. ;D You might learn something new. With much <3, your game mods, Tenel Ka, Tahiri and Jacen [More will be added to this thread soon; such as character info, RP tactics, and so on.  ]
