There he was. Ben, leaning out the open window along the street, waving his arms wildly. "Hey Zekk! Heeeey!" His voice only caused the Jedi to run faster, dodging beings, ducking under arms and around groups of people. He stopped dead in his tracks once he saw a pale arm snake out and pull Ben back into the confines of the building. Zekk could feel himself shaking, his hands balling up into fists. His nails carved creases into the skin on his palms, and he could feel the inside of his right cheek numbing up from where he had been gnawing on it. "Ben?" He called out, standing feet away from the restaurant and it's open windows. He could see the child inside. And he could make out shapes of people around him. He didn't have to see them to know who they were. |

Jaina stopped short bedside Zekk, taking in deep breaths as she looked up at the window in front of them. She took a deep breath, calming her heart, still pumping fast from the race through the Theed market. "Ben's in there?" Jaina asked, reaching to place an arm on his shoulder to get his attention. She glanced up at Zekk for a moment before turning her gaze back to the window. "With Kaidin?" |

Snaking an arm around the child's neck, Kaidin pulled Ben back into the restaurant, his hooded eyes falling on the Jedi outside. "Looks like we have company." He took a fairly large gulp of his ale and slammed the glass down on the surface in front of him, narrowing his gaze to Tessick and Alema and then looked down to Ben. "Wanna go see 'em?" Kaidin nodded to Tessick and motioned to the drinks, then he picked Ben up and playfully (if not a little roughly) threw the child over his shoulder and began making his way out of the restaurant. |

Instantly digging into his pockets, Tessick pulled out a few credits and dropped them on the table beside their almost empty glasses. "Come on," Tessick wrapped his fingers around Alema's upper arm and gently pulled her up, aiming to lead her out of the establishment. He had forgotten for a moment that she was still their hostage -- she had been getting along with them and drinking with them like it was nothing. He had no idea what was about to happen. But he had that feeling in his stomach. The one that told him something would go wrong. It always did with the two of them. With a chuckle, he began leading her towards the exit. |

Alema's lekku began twitching in frantic agitation as she stood and allowed Tessick to lead her out of the restaurant. She had no idea how to react to Jaina and Zekk's arrival. On the one hand, she was glad of the chance to get Ben out of danger. She liked the kid, and the last thing she wanted was to see him get hurt. On the other hand, the arrival of the other Jedi indicated that they were probably here to attempt a rescue. She appreciated the thought, to be sure, but found herself strangely reluctant to consider the idea of leaving. Shaking her head slightly, she decided she was just letting her worry for Ben color her thoughts. Once he was safely out of the way, she would worry about her captors. |

It had been years since she had last been on Naboo. She had always intended to come back before now, maybe for a vacation, however with the war against the Yuuzhan Vong not allowing any time for rest, she and Luke hadn't been afforded that luxury in a long time. She was rather soft to the scenery, she had decided. Even the surroundings in the middle of the big cities made her feel calm. However, that was another luxury she could not yet be afforded. Not today, anyway. She knew she should probably be a lot more calm if she wanted to get through this with as little incedent as possible, and had been doing meditation exercises all throughout the ride there in the Shadow. She kept hearing Luke's voice in her head all the time, warning her that her restlessness would lead to rash and angry actions and all that, and as much as she wanted to tell it 'Shove it, Skywalker', she knew it was right. But to her dismay, the meditation hadn't helped, just like it hadn't been helping for the whole time Ben had been away from her. She had thought that going to retrieve her son would calm her down a little bit, but it only made the her anxiety rise. She couldn't sense him very well in the Force--never had been able to, for reasons that eluded her--and so she was ever unsure as to wether he was in real danger or not. If she could just feel a little inkling of something for more than a few seconds... Agitatedly, Mara rubbed her right shoulder, her muscles still stiff from the long flight, as she walked purposefully through the town. Even if she couldn't feel Ben well, she could feel Jaina, Zekk, and Alema. Their presences weren't as clear when she was back at the apartment on Coruscant, but now they were clear as day, little beacons leading her straight to where her son--supposedly--was being held captive. To lessen her agitation with the search, she finally spotted her niece and Zekk a half hour later, in front of a restaurant. Approaching them from behind with stealth techniques that she sometimes wished she had never learned, Mara stood mere inches away from their backs, undetected. She crossed her arms in front of her chest, once again trying--still futilely--to calm herself down before she had to get into anything. "So nice to see you two again," she stated mildly, not bothering to hide the annoyance in her voice. How could they tell her to not worry for the life of a child that she had nearly given her own life trying to bring into this world? They would have a lot of explaining to do, that was for sure. |

Zekk probably would've been quite startled, and even jumped a bit -- if he hadn't been so worn out. "Afternoon, Master Skywalker." He was too tired to even turn around and look at her. His eyes were glued to the door of the restaurant, waiting for Kaidin and Tessick to emerge with Alema and Ben. He could feel her annoyance, as she stood behind him and he didn't begrudge her one bit for it. This was her son. Zekk wanted to turn around and apologize for getting him into all this, but he held back for two reasons -- one, he didn't want to get into anything right now, he just wanted to keep all his attention on the captors. Two, Ben was the one who stowed away on his ship -- so for once, Zekk could safely say to himself that something wasn't all his fault. With a deep breath, he watched Ben skip out of the restaurant with the others in tow. |

Jaina blinked, and whirled around to look up at her aunt. She grinned sheepishly, feeling her annoyance in the Force. "Aunt Mara. Hi." She didn't wait for a response, and instead directed her eyesight and attention back to the restaurant entrance, waiting for Ben to appear with his captors and Alema. Any second now, she thought, hand slowly reaching down towards her lightsaber. |

Exiting the restaurant along with her captors and Ben, Alema glanced around quickly, her dark eyes scanning the street as she reached out with the Force as well. Jaina and Zekk were no surprise, and it only took her a moment to find them. When she recognized who was with them, however, she felt her lekku thrash with surprise. Master Skywalker. "Oh, sithspit." She muttered, her gaze settling on the red haired woman. The situation had suddenly become much more interesting. Even as she though that, she found herself wondering why, instead of relief at the sight of Mara, the unexplained anxiety she was feeling had intensified. She had a bad feeling about this. |

Mara drew her lips into a thin line as she was greeted by the two Jedi Knights. She knew that they could no doubt feel her agitated presence through the Force. Zekk didn't give much reaction, however Jaina seemed a bit sheepish in her hello. "I wouldn't suppose that you two could save me the trouble and kindly direct me towards my son so that I can retrieve him and get home, could y--" Mara's sarcasm was cut off immediately as she spotted a familiar blue face out of the corner of her eye. It was Alema, and she was leaving the restaurant. And there were two men with her. But more importantly, Ben was there too. For a split second, she caught the Twi'lek's eyes as they settled on her. She felt the surprise radiate off Alema's being... obviously, she hadn't expected her to come after them. Mara's gut was urging her to jump out there, draw her lightsaber, and make them pay for thinking for even a second that they could take her son from her. Surely she could take a couple of kidnappers on without a problem. But she could tell they hadn't hurt Ben and to attack them unprovoked--even though her idea of unprovoked and Luke's were certainly differing in this situation--would be the path to the dark side. If she could, she would keep it clean... She did not wish to kill--even injure--in front of her son. Taking a deep breath, she quickly calmed herself, attaining a sembalance of serenity from the fact that Ben was there and unharmed. When she was sure that she was level-headed enough to tackle the situation wisely, she rested a hand lightly on her lightsaber and stepped forward, going around to head off the group. "Can I ask you what you think you're doing with my son?" she asked quietly. Her tone of voice, however, suggested that they may be better of not even answering, because nothing was going to justify it. |

"Alema," Jaina shouted to her fellow Jedi and pilot as her eyes took stock of the situation again. The fluttered close for a moment and Jaina reached into the Force to send a message to the blue colored Twi'lek. Think you could get Ben to saftey for us? Right now, her cousin's saftey remained her biggest concern. It would be much easier to deal with the other two if the kid wasn't in the way. Her hand closed around the hilt of her lightsaber and she waited for the next move to be made. |

Alema snapped her head in Jaina's direction, feeling the question flutter through the Force. Closing her eyes, she replied, I can try. I'm not sure if I can get away. Blinking her eyes back open, she glanced at Ben, trying to decide what to do. She did not want to take any rash actions that could get the kid hurt. If she tried to grab him and make a run for it, Kaidin might overreact, and the situation could spin completely out of control. Oddly enough, she was not worried about Tessick doing anything. After a moment, she reached out a hand and placed it on Ben's shoulder, pulling him towards her, and glancing back at Tessick, who still stood behind her, she hoped he would not realize anything was going on. |

"Awwww, ain't that charming. A little reunion, huh?" His eyes flickered to Ben, who Alema was currently herding into her blue-skinned arms like a little moo-cudcowwie from Ossus. So cute. It made him want to throw up. Gaze switching to the tall, older redhead behind Zekk and his Jedi girly, Kaidin's lip twitched. She was a hottie. Kaidin could sense her feisty nature and it made him want to not bother with Zekk and the other one and just focus all of his attention on this one. But how could Kaidin let little Zekk go? There was no way of that. "I take it that's your brat?" He jerked a thumb towards the tyke. "You must be Mara Jade Skywalker. I'm a big fan." His eyes slid sideways to Tessick and Alema. |

Mara inclined her head the slightest bit at Kaidin's words to her. "Yeah, that's me," she said in that same mild tone she'd been using with Jaina and Zekk earlier. Her eyes snapped to Ben for a split second before she continued. Alema seemed to be trying to get him out of the inevitable line of fire--for what Mara saw as all the Twi'lek's stupidity on this subject, she at least had the good sense to not let Ben be harmed in front of his mother. "And yes, he's mine. Do you have a problem with that? If you do, I strongly suggest that you get rid of it soon. I don't want to have to beat it out of you if I don't have to." Mara reached out in the Force to Kaidin, seeing if she couldn't sense his motives or, well, anything that might have been helpful to her. But she wasn't reading anything off of him. She knew that something was obviously going on, but there was no way to get a read on exactly what this guy was after. Pushing her confusion to the back of her consciousness, Mara decided that her best bet was to just play it normal and wait to see what happened. She was impatient to get Ben out of danger as soon as possible, but just knocking them down and leaving went against both her better judgement and Jedi morals. Sometimes she really hated that bag of guilt at being the first to attack that came with being a Jedi. |

The faintest of reassuring smiles graced her lips and Jaina gave Alema a small nod, watching behind narrowed eyes as the twi'lek Jedi pulled Ben closer to her. I know you can do it. |
