There is lots of stuff looming on the horizon for this board and here is a small update with what is to come. 1.) Zetaboards - the board is being converted to Zetaboards at some point (meaning, I have added us to the list so it should happen at some point hopefully within the next month or two). ZB is partnered with Invision boards and so on and are offering conversion services, which is a big yay. It will be harder for spambots to register, we get more options as members and I will have to make a whole new color scheme and logo for the board. IDEAS FOR COLORS/LOGO? Let me know! 2.) Contests - there will be contests in the future possibly. Maybe a few fanfic/fanart contests or trivia contests and such. There could be prizes too. Nothing super fancy, of course. BUT SOMETHING COOL MAYBE. Ideas for contests? Let me know those as well! 3.) In-Character Fun! - There will be a new forum where you can post anything in-character, any character from any fandom you want. More details when the boards get converted! ;D 4.) Book Club - Lusa had this idea and I think it could totally work. Not sure how much I could participate, since it takes me forever to read one book, but I think it's a really good idea and will get people to read. You know, there is a book and in a month (or whatever period of time we all decide) -- everyone participating will read the book and we can all discuss it and all that jazz at the end of period (and also while it's being read). 5.) A shop! :O - Aphy and I might be doing something with a Cafepress store. Maybe. And it might have KT related stuff on it. Maybe. We might be. And that's always fun. Heeehehehe~ 6.) Avatar/Tag marathons - These are always cheesy and fun. For a certain period of time, everyone involved will have certain avatars/tags that match. You know, one month it could be favorite Star Wars characters or people we would totally hit on if we knew them or favorite animal -- stuff like that. There will be a discussion thread soon where we can discuss topics and time frames and all that jazz. If you have any ideas/suggestions on other things that could go on around the board/forums, let me know! And invite friends! And HERE HAVE SOME SPICE~ XD Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving!

I'd be willing to help out. I sort of run a monthly book club on another forum. And I'd love to get involved in another. Yays!

Did I miss 60b? Posts: 901 Group: Members Member #77 Joined: February 9, 2005	You know I am always down for writing contests. And I like the idea of a book club. We can pick different generas and crap to broaden people's horizons. If they don't like that book that it totally ok. And maybe so one person doesn't some people could take turns choosing a book, leading discussion and stuff like that. I would be up for helping with that (and have my mom pick the book since that's what she does and I'm sure you would all LOVE reading about Irish history text book style as I'm doing now).

Posts: 2,120 Group: Members Member #59 Joined: December 28, 2004	What I was thinking with the book club (which could obviously be totally changed) was that everyone who wanted to be involved could submit one book to be read, and then we'd randomly choose one each month or whatever for people. That was people get to pimp their fandoms that others might not have heard about and we all get exposed to fun new stuff!

I was also thinking maybe we could have a game night once or twice a month on the weekend for everyone with an xbox or wii--depending on whatever console is picked that month or corresponding game--could play together. That could be a lot of fun.

I keep hearing how people buy games on the first day, beat 'em 48 hours later. I'm like... I ain't paying that kind of price for a game I'm playing for one week (Because 48 hours isn't enough for me, haha).

Dark text on a light background would be much appreicated - dark text on a dark background hurts my eyes I admit. Thanks for explaining what a 'zetaboard' is! The logo should be a general one, since the board is no longer quite so SW specific, maybe stock images with a bit of fandom stuff thrown in. (For example, a pic from Jurassic Park or an anime and so on.) 2.) A fanfic/fanart contest sounds interesting, especially if it isn't constrained to any one fandom! 3.) In-character fun could be fun - posting a comment or something that your charcter would say has the potential for much hilarity. 6.) favorite Star Wars characters or people we would totally hit on if we knew them or favorite animal I'm a fan of these three suggestions! g We could also add pairings to that list, fav books.movies/plays etc.
