It was an odd sight: Lillian outside of her job for once, hair up and clothed in a simple deep blue dress. She was so used to being behind a bar in frilly little numbers that this always seemed a bit odd to her. Normal tasks like grocery shopping seemed so foreign. Her gloved hands shifted over fruits as her eyes moved to each booth. There was so much she wanted, so much she needed, but so little she could actually get. Working at Eve's Garden wasn't really a high-paying job. The tips were good (they would be better if she was actually a stage presence there, but no, only a bartender) but they didn't really add up to any real financial help. Jasmine had caught the eye of Andrew Ryan. Andrew Ryan. Why wasn't Lillian lucky enough to get some rich guy to latch onto her? She kept the flash of disgust from her face at the turn her train of thought had taken and smiled at the man behind the counter she was currently standing at. Cheese. There was meat and cheese at this counter. At least she had enough to afford dinner. |

Hungover, tired, and sore. Benjamin Casteel was all of these things, yet he couldn't muster a single complaint. After spending a night with the Reynolds twins if a man was any less than these things, there was something seriously wrong with him. Supressing a yawn he meandered through the booths and counters, stopping here and there to order products. He was here on business, afterall, and the Kashmir only ordered the finest of ingredients. Rounding a corner, he stopped suddenly and eyed the dark-headed woman across the way. Now this was interesting. It had been quite some time since he'd seen her outside of Eve's Garden. With a smile on his face, he approached the deli counter and stopped just behind her. Bending down just beside her ear, Casteel's voice was barely more than a whisper, "Fancy meeting you here." |

Lillian straightened up with a speed she didn't know she possessed, her eyes widening and her left hand tightening around the clutch she held. The voice was only a whisper, but she knew who it was without even turning around. It was odd being around him in something other than heels, a feather boa, the whole Eve's Garden wardrobe detail -- but she figured she could get used to it. She could get used to doing a lot of things in comfortable clothes. "Afternoon, Benji." |
