Mmm... padawany. Posts: 43 Group: Members Member #649 Joined: March 5, 2008	Hey guys!! So I'm organizing this gigantic costume group of characters from Greek mythology. We have a LOT of people so far, but we keep coming up with more characters that people could be, so we're always looking for new recruits Kyle and Cavalyn are already in on this, and YOU SHOULD BE, TOO. Because it'll be really really badass. We have 29 people at the moment, and even if only half of the group ends up going through with their costumes, it'll still be pretty darn epic. Check out the Facebook group where most everything goes down (though its been a little dead lately due to everyone's school/work nonsense): http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#/group.php?gid=135344613345&v=info&ref=ts (also, new FB group look is weird...click on the Info tab at the top if the info section doesn't show up) All of the major gods/goddesses have been claimed (you can see the current list on the main page), as well as most minor goddesses (plenty of minors gods left, though). There are quite a few cool non-god characters that I really hope we can get, including (but not limited to!): Medusa, Ariadne, Medea, Calypso, Psyche, Daphne, Mnemosyne (goddess of memory...only goddess left, I think), plus a bunch of small groups such as nymphs/nereids, the Muses, the Fates, the Graces, sirens, Maenads (any True Blood fans in here? your costume could double as a generic Maenad for this group, and as Mary Ann for some True Blood cosplay!), etc. If you think of someone not mentioned on any of the lists (which you can find in the FB discussions), let me know! Right now we are really looking for someone to be the Muse Thalia, muse of Comedy, to go with the girl who's doing Melpomene (Muse of Tragedy). It'd be a fun costume with one of those comedic masks! If nothing else, we will also probably be looking for some helpers/"handlers" during the con, because some of us are planning big props, big wings, and we'll need some overall crowd control if we're going to be moving at all =P So if you'd like to volunteer yourself for that instead of doing a costume, awesome :3 If you have questions and/or are interested, message me on FB (Natalie Pretzman) or shoot me an email at "maple.croix @ gmail.com".

I'm thinking we will probably meet several times during the weekend, since I am sure not all 30+ of us will be able to coordinate meeting at the same time, but hopefully everyone can make one of the shoots/gatherings...I'm also considering this for the paraaaaaaaaade so we can show off even more =P And that is SO NOT TRUE there are plenty of cool peeps left. If I had to choose one from the remaining choices, I'd do either Medea (you can look cool and sorceressy b/c shes a badass sorceress and husband of JASON durhur), Calypso, Daphne (she turns into a tree, so you could incorporate that w/leaves or some shiz), one of the Muses, or Arachne (turns into a spider, so you could use that in some fun way)...
