Bombs, you want it?

Hello people of the forum and the random observers and people who are currently observers but will eventually become members, I am curious about how you play your Megaman. Specifically, I'm talking about those lovely little weapons you grab from the cold, dessicated corpses of those Robot Masters you may have slew using vigorous application of Mega/Rock Buster to the face. Some of them are useful, and some of them are just...eh...not all that great. However, every one of those Pot Holes were useful to me at some point in time with the possible exception of Spark Shock, and not just against the Robot Masters and Fortress Bosses that were their weaknesses. Therefore, I'd like to hear what other people truly think about the Megaman weapons. Previous topic: Contact Weapons New Topic: Room-Clearing Weapons In every RPG, there are always a few items that can be too good to use because they are incredibly effective but incredibly rare. Megaman also suffers from this problem in the case of weaponry with low ammunition. Room-clearing weapons like Rain Flush, Gravity Hold, and Tornado Blow can suffer from this problem extremely, because each one can clear the screen entirely of enemies, or at least damage them a bit. Rain Flush: Toad Man's weapon. Despite that the Robot Master that wields it is rather...laughable to fight, with or without the Drill Bombs, the Rain Flush is the first true screen-clearing weapon. For those who don't remember, the Rain Flush fires an acid-rain pod up into the sky or ceiling, which then proceeds to shower the area with a powerful acidic rain capable of damaging robots. Ironically, the one Robot Master that uses its powerful "room-clearer" weapon in its own fight is the easiest to combat. Gravity Hold: One of the stranger room-clearers, the Gravity Hold is given by Gravity Man. Notably, the Gravity Hold has little resemblance to Gravity Man's own weapon, which switches the gravity of himself and his opponent. Instead, the gravity-altering attack will cause some enemies, particularly airborne ones, to be taken up and out of the screen. Strangely, the ability of an enemy to be taken out by the Gravity Hold is not always indicated by the heaviness of their appearance; the train-mets in Charge Man's stage are vulnerable to it. Tornado Blow: The Torrnado Blow is much like Gravity Hold, but with a bit less ammunition and quite a bit more power. The Tornado Blow can instantly blow most enemies off the screen and damages those it can't. It also has the effect of blowing many projectiles away. Despite its power, this weapon and Time Stopper are the only weapons that cannot solely destroy the Robot Masters that are weak to them. Discuss. Edited by Magnemania, Jul 30 2010, 10:05 AM.

Top Spin: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rPYHstNYOSM Charge Kick: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HmIP7KBn2P8 Every weapon has a use. Some are just very, VERY scenario specific. Also I think they went back and fixed Spark Shock in the GB series so that you could switch weapons while it was in effect. Can't remember which one, V is the only one I bother remembering. |

Strictly speaking, Search Snake hurts Gamma, too. O_o But yeah, the contact weapons are good for speeding through weaker enemies. The problem is, few enemies in the games you got them, precious few enemies could be one-shotted. I suppose they were also good at destroying the few projectiles you could shoot down, too. |

Pew Pew Pew!!! Rappidly tapping the shoot button with the buster, it deals with 90% of enemies in the games with little problem, Charge shot for bosses if applicable! Edited by Hopalongtom, Jul 26 2010, 06:23 AM.

In an attempt to stimulate responses, the topic is now something that people have probably used before: room-clearing weapons. See the first post for elaboration. |

I tend to use room-clearers in a last resort situation. Nothing like a storm of meteors destroying everything. |

Rain Flush kills Bright Man and can hit some enemies even in their "guarded" state. Still, the way Gravity Hold humiliates Gyro Man is something to be said. |
