This is the most recent version of the MKF level list. It has been whittled down and rearranged from what it once was, but hopefully it shouldn't undergo any more major changes from here on out. IMPORTANT: From here on out, we are no longer accepting ANY new levels that are not on the official list. MKF has hit its saturation point in regard to levels, and so we have had to put a cap on submissions. You are free to work on any levels on the list that are free, but we will no longer accept any new level ideas. The only exception is World -1, but we will be very strict about any level submissions for that world. Anyone wanting to make a World -1 level must be cleared by the Dev Team first. Special note to anyone wanting to develop a level: After some discussion, the Dev Team has come to the conclusion that we've been adding too many one-shot gimmicks to levels lately. Having unique gameplay gimmicks is fine, but not when so many of them are used in only a single level and then never seen again. For this reason we encourage you to try and re-use existing gameplay gimmicks, level elements that haven't been used very much. We also strongly advise not to try adding in special gimmicks to your levels that would not see much or any use outside of your level. If you do add gimmicks, then they should be designed for multiple use across several levels, not specifically for a single one. We don't care if you use new gimmicks, just as long as they aren't extremely limited in use. The term "gimmick" applies to any object or element in a level that would cause you to play differently than normal; vehicles, helper characters, grind rails, reverse gravity, rotating rooms, etc. Simple things like platforms or enemies don't count as this, unless they use some super-complicated interaction method like moving the player into the background or something. KEY: -Regular-colored names are levels that are unavailable to the public. This includes levels that have already been claimed by the Dev Team, are already construction, have already been finished, or are levels that for various reasons we just don't want any random forumer to be able to pick up. -Yellow names are levels that are available for the public to pick up and work on. They currently have no one working on them, and have not yet been claimed. -Green names are levels that anyone can pick up, but are strongly linked to the plot. Anyone making one of these levels will need to consult Mew for relevant info on what needs to occur in these stages. -Level slots marked <<CLASSIFIED>> are level projects that for whatever reason are top secret, and will not be revealed to the public until a later date. -Level slots marked "????" are empty level slots; there is currently no level to fill the position. <<< WORLD 1 >>> 1-1: The Entryway 1-2: Goomba Mines 1-3: The Transitway 1-G1: Boo Mansion 1-F1: Grassland Outpost 1-S1: Tree Zone Trek 1-S2: Subcon Panic, Act 1 1-S3: Tiny/Huge Island 1-4: Lake of Amnesia 1-5: Sandy Oasis 1-6: Desert Hill 1-F2: Beneath the Sands 1-S4: Birabuto Bash 1-7: Lakeshore Paradise 1-8: Shroom Lagoon 1-9: Muda Madness 1-G2: Banshee Boardwalk 1-F3: Dire Dire Docks 1-S5: Rice Beach 1-S6: Turtle Zone 1-S7: Dinosaur Land 1-10: Sky Tower 1-11: Sky Scurry 1-12: Sky World Medley 1-F4: Castle in the Sky 1-S8: Hammer Bro Hideout 1-13: Frosty Flight 1-14: Glacial Caverns 1-15: Nighttime Icecapades 1-F5: Frost Palace 1-S9: Frozen Plateau 1-16: Mushroom Forest 1-17: Storm Canyon 1-18: Isle of Mystery 1-19: Foul Fungi 1-F6: Fortress of Traps 1-S10: The Crossroads 1-S11: Mushroom Hill 1-20: Bay of Flames 1-21: Airship Armada 1-22: Barren Badlands 1-F7: Dungeon o' Doom 1-23: Savage Stretch 1-F8: Dry Bowser's Castle 1-WB: Hell Prominence Yellow Switch Palace 1-F9: Kamek's Lair (A fortress based off of Yoshi's Island. I guess I could pick up some of these stages. Definatly Hallow Bastion since I have already started work on it, (now the SMFR KH level will just have to be a Destiny Islands level) and mabey I can make some basic layouts for Tides of Terror and Ice Hotel, idk I liked those level ideas.

I've had Shadow Moses Island, Fiddler's Green, City Escape (and ARK even) in development hell for a while, I'm starting to start on those, and considering on picking up Forest Temple, been wanting to work on a Zelda level, though I feel I should talk to a Dev about that one.. |

Actually I had already decided to create the level "Tides of Terror" ... but if you want, we can work together, Theused. Ah, Lars... I also thought: Ice Hotel should not be scrapped? It's a Ghostbusters level... And then the name "Land of Electoons" should be changed to "World of Electoons". Edited by Gladiacloud, Jul 31 2010, 04:36 AM.

The rule is that we don't accept content that originates from media other than video games. As long as you don't use any copyrighted material from a licensed game, you can use anything else in it. For example, you can make a level based off of a level from a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game, as long as you remove all instances of copyrighted TMNT content, like the Turtles themselves, enemies from the show, specific objects, etc. Anything else that was created by the game developers specifically for that game is free to use. Look at Toyland, in World 7. Toyland is based off of a level from a Mickey Mouse game, but with all copyrighted Disney content removed. The same applies to Ice Hotel, Hollow Bastion, Loser's Funhouse, and any other levels based off of a licensed game. |

Whatever happened to the level Meta-Knight was going to appear in? Last I heard he was going to be in World 5, but that was before Adventurer's Domain was made. Some ideas just seem to disappear without anyone noticing, unless the devs didn't want to reveal where he's going to appear just yet. |

So Mirror Cavern is available. It's probably going to be a while before the Fire Temple enemies are coded; and far be it for me to pass up an opportunity to re-create my favorite Mega Man level. |

He's not. Battleship Halberd was originally going to be part of the whole Pokey/Kefka subquest. The FF and Kirby subquests recently got trimmed down to only like 3-4 levels, though, and that level was one of the ones that didn't make the cut. (Hollow Bastion got cut from the sub-quest too, but like 2-3 people already attempted to make that level, so it was decided to keep it on the list as a seperate level since people were showing interest in actually developing it. Plus it was the only Kingdom Hearts level on the list, whereas there are like 5-6 Kirby levels on it.)
Shouldn't that be a given by now? ![]() A lot of the game still hasn't been completely finalized. As we slowly work to solidify the game's plot, different aspects of the level list are going to change. Like with the "sub-quests", for example. All of those were trimmed down from having upwards of 7-8 levels to having only a few. We also recently decided to rework World 5 and parts of Worlds 6 and 8, so those are going to change around a bit until we have everything fully decided on. it's likely that the level list for any given world won't really stabilize until that world is nearing completion, like with World 1. |

Oh, that reminds me. I should probably mention that we've decided to allow non-Classic series Mega Man content into World 3. This means other MM game series like X, Legends, Battle Network, etc. After all, Worlds 1 and 7 use material from all over their respective game franchises, so it didn't make sense why World 3 would only allow the Classic MM series. That's the main reason why empty level slots were added to World 3 (along with the fact that there were only 3 unlockable levels there at all). |

I lack the advanced version of Game Maker, so I can't exactly make the stage, but for the people that attempt Gradius Speed Zone in the future, I'll try to get some tilesets ripped to make the job a bit easier. I can't promise anything, but since it looks like no work has been done yet for the stage, I'll see what I can do to help out. |

Well, I'm certain the Bomb Flowers I sprited can see plenty of use. Namely in Subcon Panic and Sandy Oasis. |
