That looks very promising, Mr. D. I look forward to seeing the oni, penanggalang, or Yoshi zombies in there. Don't forget I also have a link to Jiang Shi in the topic for suggesting enemies.

Gladia, it looks to be one of those original levels. Judge Spear has been aiming to include as many of those as possible.

Brian is correct in the sense that yes, this is an original level. But Gladiacloud is also correct in that it has a Castlevania influence. Namely in the tiles (which were taken from Castlevania: Rondo of Blood.)

The level will be farely straightforward and will require the player to be extremely careful with the rising and falling tide. I managed to get the skullfish used in MKF's Tower of Babel added into the source, which will be one of the major nuisances in the level. As well, I will see about your penanggalang being used, Brian.

D-D-D-D-D-DOUBLE POST!

Silliness aside, Silent Span is done in terms of its layout. It is currently awaiting new enemies to be implemented and a few minor bug fixes. In the meantime, I have been working on the last level needing to be made for World 1.

The name of the level is called Frigid Fortress. It is replacing Final Outpost, since that level was moved to the grasslands.

As you might have noticed, to the extreme right of the image, there is a stationary buzzsaw. Welp, instead of most of the traps being active, most of them will remain stationary but will still be a major hazard.

A special thanks goes out to MoneyMan, who sprited the buzzsaw and giant spikes to appear frozen. He also did two other sprites, but I will leave those for when you play the level. :)

Also, this is a conjoint project with Ultimate Gamer. Something tells me he has a few surprises in store!

Ok, so my other two WIP's (Silent Span and Frigid Fortress) have been completed. Now it is time for me to work on some of my other WIP's. Namely, 2-F1: Rebel Stronghold. But in the meantime, I need some help for when I do end up making my following level, world 4-3: Dead Air.

Here is what I need:
- Tiles similar/resembling an airport and runway.

After a rather long hiatus from working on SMF:R, I have come back with gifts of screens of my current WIP" Toad's Outpost.

This is the very first town being made for SMF:R and will be accessible once the player reaches the Badlands portion of the Mushroom Kingdom. Since other characters have yet to be implemented and there is no active "shop," the current building used in these screens is nothing more than eye candy.

Most of the dialogue will reference levels that the player will access/have accessed or will be silly stuff that the NPC's are thinking. For the most part, Toad's Outpost is complete until it is merged into the main source.

As for my other WIP's, stay tuned! For I have a lot more to show within the next couple of days.

If I've come off as impatient the last couple of days, I apologize. In the case of the Toads, I'm just excited by the prospect of seeing my handiwork in the game. In the case of that discussion of the characters' suits, at the very least I need to know about Peach's fire-flower and basic flying suits so I can get started.

Now that the writing competition I was just in is over, I have gone back to working on SMF:R.

This current screenshot is my next level project: River of Styx.

The river will actually be underground as opposed to being on the surface. When the story is actually implemented, the river will serve the purpose of taking Luigi and co. to the other side of Di Yu to find Mario.

The rest of the level will be skull raft after skull raft through a "meaty" cave with lots and lots of lava. There may or may not be a hidden room, haven't decided.

Update! The River of Styx is coming along slowly but surely. I was originally going to make it a short level, but I might consider making it a bit longer since World 4 (Di Yu) is small as it is. Not sure if I will but I will keep you all update.

And just an FYI, this isn't a right to left level. Mario is looking to the left because he just happened to be standing that way. :V

EDIT: For those wondering, the skulls work exactly like Koopas, while the Onryo (made by WhiteRoseBrian) works like a boo. The two dragon skull looking things work like chain chomps.

I am actually leaving the background up to Ultimate Gamer, as he has expressed interest in helping out with the level. Although, I would like to say that recycling backgrounds really shouldn't be an issue. If anything, the current background is rather suiting and hasn't been used much.

But yes, I do plan on changing it.

POUBLE DOST! (That was intentional.)

So, yeah, River of Styx is essentially complete. There are still a few bugs to work out, but for the most part it is done.

Known Issues:
- The Falling Burning men sometimes explode instead of falling from the sky.
- There wasn't enough skulls in the bonus room, but they will be added to provide a 1up.
- The platform at the end of the auto-scroll room is hard to see, but has already been fixed.
- The Giant Spikes will be replaced by the spider women.
- The Bullet Bill will eventually be changed.
- Red Switch Blocks will be added underneath some of the bomb blocks should the player not be able to cross.

That should be it. I give a major amount of the credit goes to Ultimate Gamer, for not only helping me out with this level, but for also recording a video of it.

Also, I think the bomb block sprites could be redesigned. I feel the current design is supposed to be a placeholder anyway, so maybe the SMB2 bombable rocks could be used.

Anyways, I am here to announce my next WIP: Dead Air. It will be somewhat based around the Left 4 Dead campaign of the same name. The player will traverse a bit of a ruined city before they enter an abandoned airport. This will be a fortress level and there is a planned boss that comes from Left 4 Dead.

As for the tiles... it's a bit hard to imagine an airport with those tilesets. Personally I would've ripped the tiles from Elevator Action Returns, level 2, skip to 5:00 to see what I mean:
