ENEMIES ACTRAISER SERIES Maggot: Enormous maggots spawned by TANZARA'S creatures, these maggots were first seen years ago, when the MASTER first came to blows with Tanzara. They seem to have taken up residence inside the BEHEMOTH- fitting for such a giant corpse. It is unknown exactly what they metamorphose into. ADVENTURE ISLAND (WONDER BOY) SERIES Man Pig: Part man, part pig, but thankfully not part bear. Quite fast despite its porcine heritage, the Man Pig is otherwise a standard enemy. Any attack will put it down, assuming you can catch it. Octopus: Leaping high into the air from water, these octopi simply leap into the air over and over. Much like real Octopi, they can change their coloration- in this case, to show how much health it has. Snail: Imagine a GOOMBA, but even slower. Despite their shells, they can be stomped. In short, there is simply no reason to fall to these living escargot. Dying to one of them would be a fatal blow to one's self esteem. B.O.B. SERIES Blocker: A strange creature native to Anciena, the Blockers resembles Easter Island monuments with huge boxing gloves. Incredibly strong, one punch will send you flying backwards. Their reach is incredible- they don’t seem to even need to connect to send you flying. It might be unfair, but ranged weapons are reccommended. Bow and Arrow: I know what you're thinking. "Aren't bows and arrows primitive and harmless?" Well, why don't you ask the dinosaurs? Except you can't, because the cavemen bow and arrowed them to death. Worshipper: Ancient priests and parishinors that roam the halls of Anciena and worshipped whatever it was that was worshipped there, the Worshippers have since given up their corporeal forms for spirit forms and magical abilities. Once you defeat them, they vanish into nothingness. BLACK TIGER SERIES Devil (Black Tiger): Long ago, these infernal pests fought against the heroic Black Tiger- one, in fact, was a guardian of a level. They have the ability to transform into spheres (Perhaps they found the Maru Mari?) and can shoot flaming arrows at you. When defeated, they can be picked up and chucked back. Skeleton (Black Tiger): A skeleton resurrected by eldritch powers. Long ago, these skeletons fought against the heroic Black Tiger, and were controlled by the Black Dragon. Now they seem to have allied themselves with SKULL MAN as his personal bodyguards. No one knows why they were buried in only a coat. BUBBLE BOBBLE SERIES Drunk: A little guy with an endless supply of booze, the Drunk throws his bottles at you. The bottles can bounce off of walls, making for nasty trick shots. Obviously in service to the Super Drunk and the Hyper Drunk above him, they share all of the gifts of the other servants. Hidegon: A bizarre fire-breathing creature. We're not even sure what it is! It walks back and forth, and upon spotting you breathe fire at you. Like all of the Hyper Drunk's Minions, they have lighter gravity and invulnerability to cliffs. Kiri Kabu-kun: Trees in service to the Hyper Drunk. That's right. He even recruited the trees. Not very strong at all, they are possibly his weakest minion. However, they love to attack in large numbers, making them slightly more dangerous. Not by much though. One stomp will kill one. Mighta: Little ghost guys from the Hyper Drunk's land. They can use boulders to attack you by throwing them. I wonder where they keep all of those rocks? Like all of his minions, they have lighter gravity and can't be killed by cliffs. Warurin: Like WARIO is to MARIO, the Warurin is to Bubblun, the Bubble Bobble dragon. Similar to a HIDEGON, the Warurin breath fire at you when they spot you. Unlike the Hidegon, though, they can't be stomped because of the spines on their back. As such, they are much tougher than the others. Yuki-Bombo: A snowman in the Hyper Drunk's army. They can use snowballs and then roll them. Like a snowball is wont to do, the snowball grows larger and larger as it rolls along. At the biggest size, nothing will hold the snowball back, so take care of the Yuki-Bombo when you can! Zen-Chan: A small wind-up robot loyal to the dreaded Hyper Drunk, these little guys don't do much. They do have one strange quirk: Perhaps thanks to the Hyer Drunk's magic, the Zen-Chan cannot be killed when it walks off cliffs! It resets atop the cliff it fell off of and begins to pace foreword again. CASTLEVANIA SERIES Bone Pillar: One of Dracula's most common henchman, the Bone Pillar is two dinosaur skulls stacked upon each other. They do little more than sit and breathe fire at those who come to close to them. Skeleton (Castlevania): A skeleton brought back from the dead by Count Dracula. They make up the greater part of Dracula's army, and come in many different variations. They attack by throwing their own bones at you. CRYSTALIS SERIES Cave Bat: A small, yet particularly aggressive breed of bat, The Cave Bat flies in an erratic fashion, occasionally dashing towards anyone intruding upon its territory. Sometimes the simplest of the enemies are the most annoying. Cave Dragon: A reptilian creature that prefers to live in dark, dank caverns. Although it possesses small wings, it is fortunately incapable of flight, although it packs a nasty bite to make up for it. A far cry from most depicted dragons. Crawlers: A strange creature that scurries around on its many tentacles, the Crawlers have magnificent crystalline shells. Although not overly aggressive, they will retreat into their shells when attacked. Draygonian Soldier: A member of the elite military force commanded by the evil Emperor Draygon. Draygonian Soldiers are skilled in melee combat, and should be dealt with cautiously at close range. Ice Anemone: A beautiful yet deadly creature that thrives in icy conditions. While incapable of attacking directly, any living thing that touches it will become frozen solid. Ice Golem: A large, lumbering being made mostly of ice and snow. It attacks by removing its own head and hurling it at its foes, and is capable of growing a new head in mere moments. It is unknown how it survives self-decapitation, or any relation to Chuck D. Head. Man-Eater Box: A crafty demon disguised as a simple treasure chest and more commonly known as a Mimic, the Man-Eater Box preys on greedy souls who would carelessly try to open it. It is also capable of adapting its disguise, should it find itself in another world. Red Jelly: A monster of the lowest level, Red Jellies are slow and weak, and do not provide much of a challenge. Despite their gelatinous nature, one simple stomp will dispatch them. About the only drawback to fighting them would be getting slime on one's clothes. Snow Wraith: The vengeful spirit of someone who lost their life among the cold mountain peaks- a common theme in global mythologies.. They tend to come in groups, relentlessly emerging from beneath the ground to ambush unwary travelers. When defeated, they break apart into blocks of ice, returning to their base elements. Spider Eye: A spider-like creature with a single, large eye. Spider Eyes are quick and nimble, and can cling to any surface, even walls and ceilings. COMMANDER KEEN SERIES: Dopefish: The second dumbest creature in the universe, this creature's thought patterns go "swim swim hungry, swim swim hungry." They'll eat anything alive and moving near them, though they prefer heroes. Sprite: Small underwater creatures which can fire energy blasts at you. CHRONO TRIGGER Blue Imp: Smallish azure enemies, the Blue Imps are native to the Middle Ages. Very base enemies, they aren't terribly strong, possessing almost no offensive abilities. In fact, they are so weak, the Coalition can stand atop their heads and toss them! Originally native to Truce Canyon, they seem to have migrated into MAGUS' castle. Flunky: A servant of MAGUS' that specializes in archery. The Flunky is a dead shot, capable of hitting an opponent from across the screen. Although it guards the castle well, a single stomp can destroy it. In addition, its arrows arc upwards! So use that to your advantage! Freelancer: Strange, bird-like knights that patrol MAGUS' Castle. They act as sentries, pacing back and forth, stopping occasionally to glance over their shoulders. Wonder what their afraid of? They carry katanas instead of lances, making their name a misnomer. Oddly, when defeated, they dematerialize. Hench: Henchmen of the dark wizard MAGUS, armored from head to toe. The Hench attacks by rolling into a ball and rolling at you. This is especially annoying on the stairwells that litter the castle. But its not like MARIO doesn't have experience jumping over things like that.... Beware of their punches! They can send you flying! Despite their armor, they can be stomped, though it takes multiple hits. Juggler: An annoying enemy if there ever was one. When Chrono and his party first encountered them, attacking them caused their defense to rise and their magic defense to lower. The opposite was true too. Now, they seem to have (thankfully!) lost that ability, but retain their offensive abilities. Tread carefully through their bullets. CONTRA SERIES Assault Trooper: An improvement upon the SOLDIERS (RED FALCON), the Assault Troopers are robotic troops created by RED FALCON to guard the Energy Zone and areas afterwards. Capable of running at a very past pace, the Assault Troopers improve upon the Soldiers' run and gun tactics. Linebacker: Originally posted as the guardian of the Energy Zone, the original Linebacker was killed during the first alien invasion. Since then, more Linebackers have been created. A Linebacker is a large soldier in special armor, capable of throwing razor-tipped discuses. *Gate Captain* Soldier (Red Falcon): A soldier in RED FALCON's army, they were the main force during the first alien invasion countered by Bill Rizer and Lance Bean. The soldiers, presumably aliens brought with Red Falcon, are very basic. They can run and gun, but that's about it. Turret Soldier: A SOLDER (RED FALCON) on a turret. Not much else to say about these guys. DONKEY KONG SERIES Klampon: A relative of the Klaptrap, the Klampon served under K. ROOL during his Kaptain phase. Larger and more vicious than their cousins, Klampons attack and rapidly chew their victims with their huge maw. They also have red markings on their hide, further differentiating them from Klaptraps. Strangely, the Klampons seem to have fallen through a warp into the forests of Canada. Kritter: The footsoldiers of the Kremling army, the Kritters bear no distinctive features and have no interesting abilities. One simple stomp on their heads from either Kong defeated them right and proper. They come in a variety of colors, and blue Kritters leapt after the Kongs. Much later, a Kritter named Krunch joined up with Diddy Kong to race. Afterwords, Krunch’s sweet leather jacket became all the rage. Zinger: A really big bee, the Zingers may or may not be in leagues with KING K. ROOL. Its not terribly clear. Regardless, the big bees are covered in spines that hurt like all out if you bump into them. They seem to favor the brambles high above Crocodile Isle, and that may be their natural habitat. Difficult to destory, their natural enemies include rhinos, giant snakes, and, best of all, frogs! DOOM SERIES Cacodemon: These pumpkin shaped evil spirits inhabit Hell. The float in the air, belch ball lightning and boast one heck of a big mouth. Despite looking fearsome, they’re easy to defeat: Stomp 'em or gun 'em. Makes no difference, just kill 'em! Imp: The troop for the hordes of hell, these leathery lucifers were among the most common foes the Doom Guy faced during the invasion of Mars by Hell. They aren't too difficult, and can be killed by little firepower. DUKE NUKEM SERIES Assault Enforcer: A large reptilian alien. Very quick, the Enforcer effectively wields a chaingun cannon that has apparently replaced one of its hands. Originally found solely in space, it is often considered a space faring replacement for the PIG COP. Pig Cop: A member of the Los Angeles Police Department mutated by aliens, the Pig Cops attack people with shotguns. Apparently a favorite of the aliens that mutated them, the Pig Cop has been in several invasions by the aliens. Their shotguns have less ammunition than a new shotgun, so don't depend on them! EVERSION SERIES The Claw: In the Fifth Eversion and lower, this heart attack inducing beings exist. Resembling blood red claws at the end of black arms, they leap from pits to snare prey. Their arms cannot hurt, however, and one can jump through them, avoiding the claws. Flying versions have been reported, but are quite rare.Unlike other beings, they seem to have no form in the Goomba (7th Eversion): In a world similar to the Mushroom Kingdom, a being quite similar to the GOOMBA exists. In fact, they are so similar, their Creator went as far as naming them Goombas. But in the lower Eversions, they change. They go from being pleasant beings to vicious creatures with mouths full of teeth and a single staring red eye. They lose their legs and crawl after prey. Despite their horrifying transformation, they retain their weakness to stomps, and a single leap will destroy them. *Goomba skin* FINAL FANTASY SERIES Forest Imp: They are proud creatures, proud of their clever group tactics. Despite this, they are among the weakest of the monsters. They walk around with dirty hands and beady eyes and warped senses of morality. They are the Forest Imps- dread beasts without number. And they are really, really weak. Ogre: Big, and dumb. That about sums up the Ogre. Armed with clubs, the Ogres attack anything that attacks them, or just generally displeases them. Although they are somewhat docile when unprovoked, they WILL attack you after repeatedly damaging them. Beware, they pack a punch! And how! GEARS OF WAR SERIES Berserker: Aside from their Queen, the Berserkers are the sole known female Locusts. Massive, violent beasts, the Berserkers single mindedly charge after anyone they see, breaking anything that gets in their way. They are the female equivelent to the DRONES, although this brings up some rather.. squicky ideas about the reproduction of Locusts. They are insanely durable- at one point, only laser strikes from sattelites were known to take them down! *Gate Captain* Boomer: Large, fat subspecies of DRONES, the Boomer is the slowest Locust- physically and intellectually. Not smart enough to think before leaping, the Boomers leap head first into danger. They are armed with a large grenade launcher called a Boomshot- from whence they get their name. Take cover and try to take them out from a distance. Drone: The most common species in the collective of races known as the Locust, the Drones make up the bulk of the Horde. Skilled in most kinds of weaponry, they can wield a great number of different weapons, including shotguns, sniper rifles and Lancers. Drones serve as the Infantry of the Horde, yet show little intelligence or creativity. The females of the species are the deadly BERSERKERS.. Lambent Wretch: Sometimes called Dark Wretches, they have been mutated by Imulsion. A Dark Wretch's sudden appearance is often accompanied by its bloodcurdling scream thought to drive those to near, temporarily deaf. They look similar to normal Wretches, save their black, bioluminescent skin. When defeated, they explode as a last ditch effort to kill. Wretch: A member of the Locust Horde residing on Sera that is hardly ever found alone. Wretches hunt in packs and cling to walls and ceilings making them a stealthy enemy. They can also be very loud and obnoxious by rushing right into combat with loud violent attacks. The wretches are weak alone by strength is found in great numbers. GHOSTS ‘N GOBLINS SERIES Demonic Anemone: A large anemone that grows in the depths of the oceans of the Demon Realm and the caves that spot them, the Demonic Anemones first troubled FIREBRAND long ago. Perhaps a natural prey of the BEHEMOTH, they can now be found within its ghastly corpse still lobbing their projectiles. What are those? Ghost (Ghosts and Goblins): Flying ghouls still clad in their burial shrouds, these restless spirits have been awoken from their eternal sleep by demons. Arthur has clashed with them many times in his career as a Knight. They aren't very harmful, as one attack will send them back to their slumber. Red Arremer: A mainstay of the demon armies ARTHUR has fought, the Red Arremers are large demons who tend to hover in the air and swoop at Arthur, making them difficult to hit. One Arremer in particular, FIREBRAND, has become an anti-hero in his own right. Skullfish: Another creature native to the Demon Realm's oceans, they too seem to have been prey for the BEHEMOTH. As the acids grew weaker inside the deceased Behemoth, the Skullfish could live without danger of being digested by a corpse. They now swim in its intestines, carefully weaving through the villi. Zombie (Ghosts and Goblins): These poor souls have been resurrected by some demonic force, often one ARTHUR is fighting. Their appearance is often marked by earthquakes and they sometimes arise still in their coffin. Why are they buried where they are? HALF-LIFE SERIES Headcrab: Alien life forms native to Xen, and unknown before that. These parasitic creatures suck their hosts head dry of nutrients. As a side effect, the hosts becomes a zombie. They have been known to be used as a particularly sadistic weapon, and, in one notable, case a pet. Turret (Portal): An Apeture Science manufactured turret, these are used when testing the ASHPD. Loaded with live rounds, they are quite dangerous and can lead to fatal injuries. The Turrets are equipped with a rudimentory AI based off of GLADOS', although their voice is more childish and inquisittive. As a result, they are quite creepy. They are easily defeated by being knocked over, since they can't right themselves. HALO SERIES Elite: Covenant name Sanghelli. Fierce, proud warriors, the Elites make up the main military force of the Covenant. Immensely intelligent, the Elite were the first race to join the Covenant. Recently, trouble with other species has lead many Elites to break off into separatist groups. Flood (Carrier Form): The form of the parasitic Flood that spreads the infection, they carry the Infection forms. Made up of bodies to damaged or unsuitable for combat, they can explode when damaged enough, spreading the infection. Flood (Combat Form): The Combat Form is a host that has been infected by the Flood. Converted into a soldier for the Flood, they retain enough rudimentary intelligence to wield weapons. They are more resilient than some other forms. Flood (Infection form): The smallest and most common form of the parasitic Flood. Carried by the CARRIER FORM, they are the means through which the Flood propagate themselves. Although relatively harmless in small numbers, they can be troublesome in large groups. Grunt: Covenant name Unggoy. These methane breathing life forms make up the bulk of the Covenant forces. Although small in stature and health, in large numbers they can be troublesome. In fact, they once rebelled due to mistreatment and causing large amount of damage to the JACKELs. Hunter: Covenant name Mgalekgolo. A unique hive entity made of thousands of worm like creatures called Lekgolo. The Hunters wear armor that protect the weak Lekgolo, making them tank-like. Often in pairs, a quick way to enrage a Hunter is to kill its mate. *Gate Captain* ICE CLIMBER SERIES Polar Bear: Puzzling polar bears wearing pink shorts and sun glasses for no discernible reason, these Polar Bears are native to Icicle Mountain, and were a thorn in the sides of the Ice Climbers during their veggie hunting adventures. They are capable of creating tremors that can stun you, and in some cases can even sink ice burgs! Topi (Seal): You monster! How could you club seals with a mallet?! Well, these seals push ice blocks to fill in gaps left by the Ice Climbers, who pounded them with mallets. They were changed for American audiences. Gee, I wonder why.... Topi (Yeti): From SEALs to yetis, these are what replaced them for American audiences. They still pushed ice blocks though. Better a yeti slayer than a seal clubber, I suppose. KID ICARUS SERIES Grim Reaper: Death himself? With baby reapers? Well, he might not be Death, but his amazing eye sight and annoying Reapettes more than make up for it. Upon seeing you, he'll let loose a terrifying shriek and sic a group of hard-to-dodge Reapettes at you. Take a page from your mentor Snake: Stealth is your best friend here. Snowman: Snow creatures native to the human world, they were first encounterd by the heroic cherub Pit during his rescue of the Goddess Palutena. They appear as less of friendly, top hatted snowmen and more of horrible albino aliens capable of throwing snowflakes that blend in rather well with the background. Attack with caution. KIRBY SERIES Bloober: These sentient cakes are native to Dreamland, a bad place to be native to if you're sentient food stuff. Appearing only a few times in the series, they reappear here. To defeat them, you have to first vacuum their frosting off, and then injure their tasty core. Gordo: Spiked creatures native to Dreamland, they have long been used by KING DEDEDE in his failed attempts to clobber KIRBY.They seem to be some sort of urchin- perhaps one native to Ripple Fields? They are nigh invincible, and are often used by Dreamlanders to guard things they don't want taken, such as nutritious Pep Brews. Despite their resemblence to urchins, they can float somehow- often in the same pattern over and over. Strangely, Gordos have also been seen in LINK'S dreams of Koholint Isle- just like WART, who also comes from a dream world... THE LEGEND OF ZELDA SERIES Octorok: A species of octopus native to Hyrule and its sister dimensions the Octorok attacks by spitting a seemingly endless supply of rocks at its prey. Originally found in the water, they seem to have evolved the ability to walk upon land as time went on. At one point having a perfect attendance award, they seem to have lost it since then. They are known to be a Hyaline delicacy. Rope: A species of snake native to Hyrule and its associated dimensions, Ropes have long been a thorn in the side of the Heroes of Legend. None to intelligent, the Ropes merely rush at their prey, or spit rocks at them. Although not very well known in comparison to other Hylian creatures, in the parrelel world of Holodrum, they have their own dungeon- Snake's Remains. Stalfos: The remains of a non-Kokiri who gets lost in the Lost Woods, they are skeletal soldiers usually in service to Ganon. Usually armed with swords, the Stalfos guard dungeons and other tomb like areas. Tektite: The bane of arahnophobes Hyrule over, Tektites are native to mountainous regions in Hyrule and its many, many parralel worlds. The beasties have low vitaity, but their erratic hopping can make them tough to hit- especially with a sword. MARIO SERIES Albatross: A large flying bird native to Sub-Con, the Albatross is used as a carrier by the 8-Bit Gang. They are most often used to transport BOB-OMBs into battle. During the Airship Invasion of the Eight Kingdoms, the unfortunate king of the Sky was transformed into an Albatross. The Angry Sun: How is the sun moving?! And why is it so angry? Better question, why can you kill it and not kill everyone alive? Gosh, the questions in the Mario series sure are numerous, aren't they? This angry guy will relentlessly chase you down unless you can knock it out. Are you a bad enough dude to kill the sun? Ant: A small insect native to Mario Land, MARIO encountered these creatures in the Micro Zone, where he was tiny. They are also found inside the Tree Zone, where they are encountered now. There exist several variations of them, including diggers and bazooka ants Autobomb: A large cannon on wheels, the Autobomb is a favorite of SHY GUYS. In between these things and OSTROS, the little guys sure do know how to get around, huh? The Autobomb rolls around and fires cannon balls at you whilst an enemy rides on it. After tossing the rider away, you can ride it. Don't expect it to fire though! Bee Larva: The larval form of the inhabitants of Tree Zone, these little guys look more like caterpillars than anything. Just like their all growed up forms, they can be knocked out with a simple stomp. Bee'zerk: These bees inhabit the inside of the Tree Zone. They're not nearly as friendly as the bees Mario met in his recent space adventure, and actually not as large either. The Bee'zerk's are actually normal sized bees; it's MARIO who is small. It's unknown how Mario shrinks down to their size, but chances are 'shrooms are involved. The Bee'zerks don't quite live up to their name and go down with one stomp. Beezo: A flying SHY GUY wielding a pitchfork, the Beezo fly around Sub-Con, attacking their enemies with their pitchforks. Like their land dwelling brethren, they can be ridden upon to reach other areas. A variety from the Mushroom Kingdom, called Shy Away, appeared during Smithy's invasion. They were excellent gardeners. Interestingly, ghostly Beezos called Ghoul Guys have appeared to LUIGI before. Birdo: Perhaps the most disturbing of all Mario enemies. Birdo is both a species and a singular of that species, like YOSHI (with whom he seems infatuated with). Yes, that's right. He. Birdo is a guy who fancies himself a lass, complete with bow. Originally native to Sub-Con, Birdo (In the singular) later reappeared to take part in the various sports in the Mushroom Kingdom. The species comes in different colors. Pink can only shoot eggs (Out of his mouth...), red can shoot fire and eggs, and green shoots only fire. *Gate Captain* Blooper: A sea dwelling (and occasionally land dwelling) squid from the Mushroom Kingdom, the Bloopers live throughout the Mushroom Sea. Swimming lazily through the water, they stalk their prey. On land, they have been known to spit ink out of their mouths. Oddly, there have been reports of a flying Blooper sub-species since one of MARIO and LUIGI's lesser known adventures. Lost, you might say. Bob-Omb: Walking, occasionally talking bombs with wind up-keys in them! Originally thought to be a native of the Dreamland of Sub-Con, they have since been revealed to populate the Mushroom Kingdom and its neighboring kingdoms. In fact, over the years, MARIO as befriended a great many of them, from the pink Bob-Omb Buddies to the sea-loving Admiral Bobbery. The Sub-Con natives are also known as simply Bombs, and possess no wind-up key. Boney Beetle: An undead variation of a BUZZY BEETLE, the Boney Beetle just won't die! To add to its annoyance, the Boney has spines on it that it can retract, so it’s not even safe to stomp them some of the time. Boo: Non-descript ghosts from the Mushroom Kingdom. Very shy, Boos will only attack when you're back is turned. Being undead, they are completely invincible to all attacks. Recently, (through therapy with Dr. Mario?) the Boos seem to have overcome their shyness and regularly participate in Mushroom Kingdom activities. Boomerang Bros: Boomerang wielding HAMMER BROS. Trained to use the ancient Australian weapon, they have become very good at using it. Other than the trajectory of their weapon, they're pretty much the same thing as their cousins. Bubble: A bouncing green ball of ectoplasm. What more do you need to know? Bullet Bill: Living ammunition used by the Koopa Troop. Bullet Bills are fired by Bullet Bill Blasters. They travel in a straight trajectory and can easily be dispatched by leaping on them. They can even be used to get that extra jump you might need to cross that pit! You know the one. Despite their fearsome appearance, being called Killer by some and being bullets, they can't hurt you if you jump on them! Bunbun: A flying bee enemy native to Sarasaland, Mario encountered the Bunbun in the desert like Birabuto Kingdom. Bunbun fly above Mario and drop spears at him. When stomped upon, they seem to die instantaneously, leaving only their exoskeleton behind. Buster Beetle: The strongest beetle in the world! Capable of grabbing ice blocks and chucking them far away, the Buster Beetle can turn the tables on the Coalition by using their tactics against them. But a simple stomp will take out even these mighty bugs. Wait for them to use up all their ammo! Buzzy Beetle: Similar to a KOOPA TROOPA, and even looking more like a turtle than a beetle, the Buzzy Beetle behaves exactly like the terrapin troops. Lazily passing back and forth, the Beetle can be used as a weapon once its defeated. The thing that separates them from Koopas, however, is their invulnerability to fire. Fire Flowers do absolutely no damage to the bugs, so don't even try it! Bwomp: This corpulent bee resides in the Tree Zone, like all of its bee kin. Its chubby wings can only make it hover. And hover it does! It hangs in wait for the Coalition to walk under it and then.... Boom! Like a Thwomp, it crashes down. Their immense immensity makes them invulnerable to most attacks. Chain Chomp: Savage dog-like creatures native to the Mushroom Kingdom. Most often found chained to posts in the ground, hence their name. They don't seem to have minds or anything. They're just like mean dogs on leashes. They have since been seen far and wide. LINK once encountered two in the dreamland of Koholint Island! Charging Chuck: Long before the Koopas joined in sports with Mario, these Koopas were jocks. Clad in (American) football padding, they charge relentlessly at you. They also come in versions that throw (American) footballs, throw baseballs at you, or dig using shovels and throw dirt at you. Why they have shovels is unknown. Cheep-Cheep: One of the most populous creatures in the Mushroom Kingdom, the Cheep-Cheep are fish with wings. Although, above water, the poor things can't fly. They flop around like a pathetic fish! Under water, they aren't to much of an annoyance. Just avoid 'em. Cowfish: The Cowfish begs many questions. What are they? Why are they in sap, let alone inside a tree? Why can Mario stomp them while swimming? The world may never know Dino-Torch: Dinosaurs with fire breath native to the Dinosaur Island, the Dino-Torch roams the hills and torches whoever bothers it. A simple stomp will take care of it though, flattening it like so many pancakes. Eerie: Odd ghosts from Dinosaur land. They appear to be dinosaurs too. Wait... Are they the ghosts of baby Yoshis?!?! Fang: A bat that tends to hang out on the ceiling in underground or otherwise dark locations. Is related to the Swooper, but is more laid back, preferring to drift lazily in the general direction of it's foes. Leaves a trail of dots in it's wake for some reason. Fighter Fly: First encountered by the Mario Bros. inside a sewer, the Fighter Flies can take two hits, much like a SIDESTEPPER. Unlike their crustacean counterparts, the Fighter Flies do not become angry when stuck. MARIO encountered them again in Sarasaland, this time just called Flies. Fire Bros: A rare type of HAMMER BROS., these turtles have learned to spit fire instead of throwing hammers. They are far more dangerous than their mallet wielding cousins. Although having an extended absence from MARIO's adventures, they have since returned, becoming a mainstay. They're a hit at Koopa barbeques! Fire Snake: A living chain of fire, the Fire Snake is native to deserts around the Mushroom Kingdom and surrounding kingdoms. The Fire Snake leaps from block to block, dragging its fire behind it. Because its made of fire, it is mostly invincible. Fishbones: The Dry Cheep Cheep, these are ghost fish that inhabit castles and dead places. Much like most other undead creatures, they are invulnerable to attacks. They are pretty run of the mill. They swim and make no real attempt to attack you. Let the dead rest, and they will let you rest. Flurry: An adorable snowman like creature, the Flurries (Not to be confused with the Rogueport native diva Flurrie! Seriously. Please don't confuse them.) are native to the icy regions of Sub-Con. The poor fellows have low traction despite where they live, causing them to go slippin' and slidin' every time they hit the ice. They sometimes even fall to their doom... Gao: A sphinx-like creature native to the Birabuto region of Sarasaland, the Gao fit in with the pyramids that litter the landscape. Living primarily inside a massive pyramid, the king of the Gaos, KING TOTOMESU, rules over them. Goomba: The main troops of King Bowser's Koopa Troop, these are dissidents of the Mushroom Kingdom. While some serve Bowser, most live peacefully in villages. Some say they are living chestnuts. Grubby: Don't tread on this grub! For whatever reason, this Bee Larva has grown spikes and, as the Mario Bros. have learned many times, are now invulnerable to stomping. Superballs defeated them the first time Mario met them, and now many more attacks can as well. Hammer Bros: Perhaps the elite and most feared of the Koopa Troop, these Koopas stand atop blocks and toss hammers at you, most often in duos.. They're habitual use of blocks can also be their greatest weakness however.... Recently, much like the BOOS, they have joined in during Mushroom Kingdom sporting activities. Honen: An undead form of the TORION, these enemies leap out of the water as opposed to simply attacking you underwater. They may be related to FISHBONES, or may be Fishbones themselves. Despite their undead status, a stomp on the head will send them to Davy Jones’s Locker for good. Hoopster: A ladybug that lives in Sub-Con, the Hoopster travels up and down the vines it calls home. Due to their large size, you can ride upon them without harm. You can also pick it up, but that’s not recommended when you’re riding on one! During BOWSER and the Koopa Kids invasion of the Seven Kingdoms, the King of Desert Hill was turned into a Hoopster. Jelectro: A small Jellyfish that glows, the Jelectro is most often seen as a living barrier underwater. Dozens of them, next to each other, invincible, forming living fences... No way around them but to avoid them. Joe: A shark with punching gloves! Native to the oceans surrounding Mario Land, the Joes swim back and forth, waiting for prey. It's unknown what they have boxing gloves for, especially considering they never even use them. Koopa: The main soldier in the Koopa Troop and the name sake, these are by far and large the most common enemy Mario faces. When jumped upon, they flip over and their shells can be used as projectiles. Watch out! They can hurt you too! Red Koopas are smart enough to not walk off cliffs, and yellow Koopas become invincible once they reenter their shells. Lakitu: Flying KOOPA wearing glasses/goggles, they travel around on their clouds, which are called Jugeman's Clouds. Originally, they threw SPINIES at Mario. Nowadays, the species make their occupation primarily as cameramen, using their fishing poles to hold cameras. One notable pair filmed MARIO's famous rescue of the 120 Power Stars. Lava Lotus: An exotic plant that lives underwater, it can spit fireballs from itself. How exactly can it shoot fireballs underwater? That just raises more questions! They have a land version, the VOLCANIC LOTUS. Unlike the other, the only way to avoid the Lava Lotus is to carefully swim around it. Mekabon: An odd robot found in the Muda region, they can use their heads as projectiles. Of course, their heads come back to them. Its unknown who-or what- made them, but they may be related to the UFO found at the beginning of the region. Their name, humoursly enough, means mechanical robot. Micro Goomba: A tiny, tiny GOOMBA inside a block, the Micro Goomba lies in wait for someone to draw near. Mostly found in great piles of blocks in deserts, they are effectively camouflaged. When their prey draws near, they pounce! A simple jump breaks the block, sending the tiny Goomba flying. Ninji: A black star-shaped creature that first appeared in Sub-Con. Ninjis jump up and down, trying to injure the Coalition. First thought to be only a dream. Ninji later appeared inside BOWSER's Castle on Dinosaur Island. Later still, Ninji were revealed to be native to Starborn Valley, where stars are born. They come in black and purple varieties.. Nipper Plants: An juvenile form in the Piranha Plant cycle, they grow from Nipper Spores. Invulnerable to attacks, they can't be defeated in any way. Often nefariously placed, they seem to have it out for Mario. Unlike their adult form, they grow in soil, not pipe. Noko Bombette: Also known as Nokobons. Originally a denizen of Sarasaland, they seem to have migrated to Mario's island Mario Land sometime. Originally believed to be robots, they have since been revealed as Koopa's with a bomb on its back. Watch out for the explosion. It can hurt you too! Ostro: A SHY GUY’s best friend! Flightless birds native to Sub-Con, Ostros cannot hurt the Coalition directly. Instead, they are used as transport by the Shy Guys. Quite friendly, they don't care who rides them. Please don't confuse them with BIRDO. He doesn't like it. Panser: Perhaps Sub-Con’s variation upon the PIRAHNA PLANT, the Panser is a type of plant that can shoot fireballs. There are three kinds of them: Red just sits there and shoots fireballs; green can move around and shoot fireballs and blue can move around and shoot three! Para-Beetle: A flying BUZZY BEETLE, the Para-Beetle soars through the Sky. It can't hurt you, but they can be used as platforms. They don't like this, as the weight of someone riding atop them causes them to sink, though. So keep that in mind. Pidget: A small bird flying on a flying carper, the Pidgets are native to Sub-Con. Appearing in the skies and occasionally diving, they can be pounced upon and thrown from their carpeted ride. After tossing them away, you can ride their carpets too! Certain parts of Sub-con are only accessible through this, so be sure to use it to your advantage! Oddly, the Pidgets of Dinosaur Island have been known to fire themselves from cannons, like BULLET BILLS. Piranha Plant: One of the most ubiquitous species in the Mushroom Kingdom, and a perennial thorn in MARIO's side since he was but a wee lad. The Piranha Plant, like its name would suggest, is a teethy plant. For some odd reason, they seem to live mostly in pipes. However, they won’t come out if you’re next to it. Well, most of them… The Plants grow from NIPPER PLANTS. Many types of the plants exist, such as a green variation found early in Mario's career, poisonous Putrid Piranhas, blazing Lava Piranhas... The Plants are invulnerable to most physical attacks due to their teeth, but everything else is fair game. Pionpi: An odd blue vampire creature, the Pionpi is an example of Chinese vampires- they're blue and they hop! Like most undead creatures MARIO has encountered, they are difficult to dispose of permently. Although projectiles will kill them for good, if they're stomped, they just get back up. Porcu-Puffer: A giant spiked fish that lurks just above the surface of water, it follows you throughout the level, making the water deadly... But you can spin jump off it! Porcupo: Purple porcupines that live in Sub-Con, the Porcupo meander back and forth, usually in groups. Due to their spiky nature, it isn't wise to jump on them. Pokey: A cactus with a maniacal face native to both Sub-Con and the Mushroom Kingdom. The Sub-Con varieties can be ridden for some odd reason, despite that you can see the spines! They are also green. The variation native to the Mushroom Kingdom is yellow, and can't be ridden upon. Both can be destroyed segment by segment. Oddly, the Mushroom Kingdom variant changed size depending on whether or not YOSHI was present. Also oddly, Pokeys seem to have recently grown flowers, although this doesn't show here. Rex: A tall dinosaur from the Dinosaur Islands, the Rex can be stomped upon to shrink it, like an accordion! After getting across the Donut Planes, they won't bother vacationer to much, though. A highly dangerous variation exists when a SHROOB infects a Rex. The dreaded Shroob Rex. Rip Van Fish: A Dutch Cheep-Cheep that love to sleep, the Rip Van Fish dozes lightly beneath the waves. When someone swims past it, though, it wakes up and gives chase! At least until the guy is out of range. Then it goes back to sleep. Rocky Wrench: Are they moles? Or turtles? No one seems quite sure exactly, but they serve as the mechanics in BOWSER's Airships. Hiding inside maintenance holes, they pop out as you pass, and throw wrenches at you. After a long absence, the Rockies returned in space, on the Dreadnaught.... Shroob: The Shroob are a creepy alien race from a creepy alien world. Their goal is to locate a new home for themselves by taking over another world that appeals to them. All Shroob are armed with at least a standard disruptor ray for self-defense. Shroob UFO: The standard attack vehicle for the Shroob Invasion force. Although small, these one-man saucer craft are quick and maneuverable, and possess an extraordinary amount of firepower. Shy Guy: One of the very first enemies Mario encountered, if not the first. Mario was but a wee baby when he and a Yoshi began their enmity towards the shy race. Clad in tunic and mask, they are native to either Yo'ster Island or Sub-Con. Exactly what is under their masks, and why they are so shy, is unknown. Perhaps some therapy with Dr. Mario is in order? Shy Fly: A tiny, shy fly, the Shy Fly is a spiky looking insect with a tendency to fly away when encountered. There is little speciel about them, as they don't attack and yield little reward. Both MARIO and WARIO have encountered them in seperatae adventure. Sidestepper: Amongst the very first enemies Mario ever encountered, the Sidesteppers were first encountered in sewers rumoured to be underneath Brooklyn, New York. The Sidesteppers could take two hits, but the first hit will only make them mad! Skeleton Bee: An undead variation of the Bee'zerk, the Skeleton Bee haunts the hives inside Tree Zone that were once its home. Much like a flying Dry Bones, the Skeleton Bee can reform itself once it is stomped into a sad little pile of bones. Snifit: A SHY GUY with a gas mask like facemask, the Snifits are capable of firing bullets from the nozzles. Some of these bullets, especially as used by Sub-Con Snifits, are actually solidified nightmares. The Snifits have since become mainstays of the Mushroom Kingdom. Lord Booster VII used several Snifits as his henchmen. Unlike the Shy Guys, there aren't many Snifit sub-species Spark: Perhaps the most generic enemy ever faced by the MARIO Bros., the Spark is a generic electrical spark with eyes. It travels around platforms without stopping. Things thrown at them can hurt them, but nothing else can. Spike: Also known as Gabon, the name of an African country, the Spikes appear as small lizard creatues capable of puking up spiked balls (Oww...?) and throwing them at you. When they hold the balls aloft, you can't stomp them, so be wary! Spiny; Simple spiked Koopas, these are thrown in egg form by Lakitus. Careful! Don't jump on them! They're called Spiny for a reason! Spiny Cheep-Cheep: A very rare kind of CHEEP-CHEEP, this obviously has spines. Since its underwater, it doesn't a terrible amount of difference since its underwater! Just avoid 'em like a normal Cheep. Stilt Guy: A SHY GUY on stilts. Chronologically the very first Shy Guy MARIO ever encountered as a baby with YOSHI, the Stilt Guys later appeared in Shy Guy's Toybox during GENERAL GUY' attack. Now that General Guy is in Subcon, the Stilt Guys have once again joined his army. A pounce on them makes them lose their stilts. Tesekuribo: These are the ghosts of Goombas. Ever wonder what happens after Mario crushes a Goomba 'neath his heel? Well, now you know. I hope you feel sorry for the Goomba families now. Despite their undead status, they can be crushed again. Where do ghosts go when they get a game over?*Goomba skin* Torpedo Ted: Nautical BULLET BILLs. they are fired from canons that use mechanical hands to launch them. Like Bills, they travel in straight lines. Unlike Bill, they cannot be stomped. So its wise to avoid them, and simply swim full speed ahead. Trouter: A fish with great leaping abilities, the Trouter leaps forth from rivers up to the heights of Sub-Con. Like most of the enemies native to their land, they can be ridden upon, making the long gaps across waterfalls easier. Tweeter: Another enemy showing Subcon's strange fascination with masks, the Tweeter is a strange bird creature that hops around. It can be surmised that despite their bird status, they can't fly. Not to be confused with the internet fad. Thwimp: The bite-sized version of a THWOMP! The Thwimps have yet to develop the odd floating powers Thwomps have, so the best they can do is hop around in small arcs. Not particularly dangerous, the Thwimps can be a pain when there are several of them intersecting. Thwomp: Exactly what a Thwomp is is a mystery. Some say they are stone ghosts; others the by product of Thwomp Volcano. Who can say, really? The most important thing about them is that they hang in the air, in wait of someone to squish. And when something walks under them.... Umbrelloid: In Japanese mythology, objects that come to life upon their hundreth birthday are called Tsukumogami (ninety-nine of ago spirit). Perhaps the most common of these are the Kasa Obake, or Kerakasa. These are umbrellas that spring to mischivious life. Umbrelloids are the Mushroom World's answer to that. But, don't things come to life there usually? Sigh. Another MARIO mystery. Urchin: A generic, giant sea urchin first found off the Coast of Dinosaur Island, the Urchin moves in a set path. It makes no attempt to hurt you, but watch out! Its spines are deadly. Once thought exclusive to Dinosaur Island, they were later found in space, of all places. Volcano Lotus: A land based relative of the LAVA LOTUS also known as a Volcano Plant (since it isn't a lotus), the Volcano Lotus spits fireballs like the Lava. Unlike the other, it is possible to spin jump off of them to avoid them. Be sure to use that! Yurarin: A large seahorse native to the Muda region of Sarasaland, the Yurarin, and their fire breathing cousin, the Yurarin Boo, leap out of the water to attack MARIO. They can be defeated by simply leaping atop them or with a Marine Pop torpedo. |

MEGAMAN SERIES Atomic Chicken: A chicken robot that resides in the same forest WOOD MAN is stationed in, the Atomic Chicken runs towards you, leaping shortly before reaching you. I guess it just wants to play a game of.... Chicken! Big Eye: Although only used in WILY's initial attempt at conquest, the idea of a large hopping robot was reused by Wily many times thereafter. A difficult enemy, the Big Eye does a great deal of damage and takes a lot of damage as well. This time around, Wily is reusing them as gate captains, to guard some of his Robot Masters. *Gate Captain* Big Snakey: A larger form of the PETITE SNAKEY, the Big Snakey is one of the stronger robots WILY has produced. Appearing mainly as a large snake head, the Big Snakey is seemingly built into the Snake Pit. Unlike its smaller counterpart, the Big Snakey can move the platforms that make up its body, making it more slithery. Bomb Flier: Another of WILY's robots that resemble BULLET BILLS, Bomb Fliers hide inside clouds as they soar through the sky. When struck once, their cloud cover dissipates, leaving the exposed bullet to hunt its target down. Bubuffoon: This bizarrely named robot seems to keep up the odd Olympic theme that started with the HAMMER JOE. They run and then pole vault. Perhaps more of WILY's strange repurposing? Blader: An odd, smiling robot head that floats around. Its only attack is trying bash you by flying into you. Not all that much to it. Cannon: A large cannon set up by Wily to protect the Robot Masters. Nope, can't say much else 'bout it. Crabbot: an easy to defeat enemy found in BUBBLE MAN'S stage, these are robotic crabs- although some say snails- that simply walk back and forth. Once defeated, they leave their shells behind. Like a KOOPA's shell, these can be used to defeat other enemies. Croaker: A large robot frog found in BUBBLE MAN's stage, the Croaker can spit baby frogs at you. Originally damaging upon contact, that seems to have changed with age. The ninja robot Shadow Man seems to have a fondness for them, as he has a Croaker-themed car and once rode a giant Croaker into combat. Dachoun: One of the most science fiction inspired robots in 20XX, the Dachoun is a large chicken walker-esque robot. It walks around and shoots lasers out of its optic panel, which is its weak spot. Humorously, Dachoun is based on the Japanese word for ostrich: dachou. It is my- OTACON's- favorite of WILY's robots. Dada: Art for breakfast lunch and tea! Sorry, wrong Dada. This is another uninspired robot from the year 20XX. Dadas are hopping robots. It's not a hobby horse either. Droppot: Flying robots in glass. They drop their heads as bombs then fly off. Flying Shell: Recon robots found it CUTMAN'S Castle. Similar to flying METS, they fly around and shoot at you when their shell is open. They shoot in an octangular arc. Giant Met: The first giant modification to the Mets, they first appear buried in Needleman's stage. Later, during the second half, the rise from the ground attack you. The only place they can be damaged in the + on their hard hat. Gilliam Knight: A knight robot with the legend of the werewolf in mind. When exposed to lunar rays, it transforms into a wolf type robot. As such, it is best to combat them indoors or in cloudy weather. Rumor has it he was designed to quest for the Holy Grail, even though he's only a model. Hot Dog: A large wolfen robot stationed in the same forest as Woodman. The hot dog was originally created to protect forests, but the fire extinguishing liquid was removed from its tail. Now it guards passages, breathing fire at the coalition. Joe: Originally a police bot created by Dr. Wily and Dr. Light off of Proto Man, the Joes were reprogrammed by Dr. Wily for nefarious purposes. Throughout his various attempts, Joes have been used in a variety of machines and colors. They almost always have their distinctive shield, based off of the Proto Shield. Lantern Fish: As its name would lead you to believe, this is a large robotic angler fish. Stationary, it attacks solely by letting SQURITs out at you. But don't angler fish usually eat shrimp...? Its only weak spot is the large antenna hanging from its head. M-445: Jellyfish robots that appear underwater. Modified versions of a group of robots that guarded Wily's Fortress during his first conquest, they are easy to destroy. I wonder if they have cousings on SR-388...? Mecha Monkey: A mecha monkey! Like real simians, it prefers the treetops to the ground. It hangs below the trees, waiting for you to pounce before springing up. Mecha Kero: A robotic frog enemy, the Mecha Kero hops at you. Lucky for you, and unlucky for the poor froggy, you can hop on it too! Met: A small hard hat shaped robot, this was presumably originally used for some sort of construction job. Dr. Wily reprogrammed them and hence they have been perhaps his favorite robot, appearing dozens of times in dozens of different ways. The only consistent thing the lil' dudes have is that they are invulnerable when hiding in their hats and that they shoot three bullets at once. Now, they can be picked up and used as guns! Mizzle: A missile that lurks in pits waiting for prey. The Mizzle can easily mess up a careful jump across, and there seems to be a large number of them in wait as one will replace another once its destroyed. Needle Harry: A hedgehog type robot covered in spines, Harry can curl itself up into a ball to protect itself. It can also shoot spines at you. I wonder if Wily had heard of Sonic before designing it.... Octopus Battery: It only has four arms and doesn't look like a battery. Why then, did Wily name this odd robot that? The Battery will cling to walls and slowly go up and down, shooting at you. Parasyu: Robotic parachutes that dive bomb in on you in Needleman's level. Because you encounter them on the RUSH jet, be careful not to take damage and fall off. Otherwise they aren't to dangerous. Petite Snakey: A smaller form of the BIG SNAKEY, the aptly named Petite Snakey is built into the bizarre Snake Pit where SNAKE MAN is stationed. Seemingly possessing no body of their own save the reptilian catwalks, they shoot projectiles at their prey's last position. Pipi: A mechanical bird that carries an egg filled with miniature forms of itself. Upon dropping the egg, it cracks open, releasing a torrent of mini mecha birds! When destroyed in a group, they originally yielded a large amount of treasure. Wily seems to have fixed that now, though. Picket Man: A construction robot originally created by Dr. Light and Dr. Wily to aid in construction and quarrying, the Picket Men appear to be variations of Mets, or vice verse. Unlike Mets, they are mobile and can throw pick axes as weapons. But, like their small cousins, they can use shields to protect themselves. Humorously, they are sometimes called Pickle Men. Picket man Bull: A PICKET MAN riding in a small bulldozer. They ride back and forth, blocking your progress. They can only be damaged by attack its head. Robo Rabbit: A mechanical rabbit. The Robo Rabbit hops around just like a real bunny, and can fire carrot blades as well. Its unknown weather or not they eat the carrot blades as well as throwing them. Shield Attacker: Another one of Dr. Wily's favorite robot types, the Shield Attacker has reoccurred in almost all of his conquests following his second. As its name would lead you to believe, the Shield Attacker is shield from attacks, specifically from the front. However, attacking from behind can destroy it. Skeleton Joe: A SNIPER JOE modified to resemble a skeleton, they can throw bones at you. IF they are not hit with a charged buster shot, they can reassemble themselves rather than being destroyed. Squirt: Small robot shrimp. They apparently live inside ANGLER FISH. Easy to defeat, they are best used as weapons by picking them up and throwing them at other enemies, including their very homes. Tabby: A large robotic cat that, like all kitties, loves playing with yarn balls. The difference here is that the yarn ball can hurt you on contact, and you can pick it up and throw it back at the cat. Top Fiend: A large robot that shoots tops out of its belly. You can jump on the tops and throw them back at the Fiend to damage it. Yambow: A dragonfly robot that hovers over and tries to attack. All in all, not much of a problem. But it was made by a German, and you know they make good stuff! METAL SLUG SEREIS Flying Tara: The main aerial vehicle of the Rebel Army, the Flying Tara is the result of their need for a fighter plane with ground attack abilities. Due to their focus on bombing enemies on the ground, they seem to have forgotten that they have a tail gun. It’s never used. M-15A Bradley: The Rebel Army had many direct combat vehicles, but lacked artillery units. Seeing this flaw, the engineers in the army came up with the M-15A "Bradley", an artillery vehicle equipped with large rocket launchers on a pivot to fire high and low. The Regular Army could easily destroy them, seeing as they have little offensive power up close. The Coalition can ride upon their rockets, Major King Kong style, and throw them back at them! R-Shobu: A helicopter used by the Rebel Army. The R-Shobu is a single-seat helicopter designed to assist armored vehicles, like the M15-A BRADLEY. Its a lightly armored vehicle, and can be knocked out of the sky without much effort. Rebel Army Soldier: The attacking grunts under GENERAL MORDEN’s Rebel Army. Some are simple sentries, although they're cowardly as all hell. Others take up firing positions at shoot at their opponents using high-powered rifles. Still others are grenadiers who lob explosive death from afar. METROID SERIES Geega: An insectoid creature native to Zebes, the Geega emerge en masse from Air Holes. Air Holes seem to have an unlimited amount of the species, and they cannot be permently defeated. The Bounty Hunter SAMUS was able to use the species to power her suit up. They seem to have rapidly evolved passed that quirk, though. Metaree: Cousin life forms to the SKREE, they are virtually the same. One notable difference is the development of their wings; now they can serve as armor. Most attacks will not damage them, though they are vulnerable to attacks directly below them. Another difference is that they will not explode. Nova: An odd heat loving creature native to the fiery Norfair section of Zebes. Although covered in fireproof wool, their hid is nevertheless covered in fire. They use this to their advantage, and kill their prey using their heat. They can crawl on floors, walls and ceilings. Ripper: Neither friend nor foe, these beetle like denizens of Zebes are perfectly content to just fly around in a straight line, back and forth. Their single mindedness points to the odd fact that they do not have brains. Due to their one track mind, they are easily frozen and used as platforms. Some areas of Zebes have been known to be inaccessible without the use of Rippers. Sidehopper: One of the most dangerous creatures native to the planet Zebes, the Sidehopper is second in strength only to the master of Brinstar. Like their name would lead one to believe, they hop around using powerful legs. They can somehow repel gravity, and latch onto ceilings. They can even leap from a ceiling and fall back onto it, Skree: Flying bat like creatures that are sometime known as Shriekbats, they nest on ceilings, in wait of prey. When prey comes close to them, they dive bomb them, spinning rapidly in a drill like motion. The drilling can cause them to drill into the ground. When damaged, they can explode, spreading shrapnel. Zeela: A boneless arthropod with its eyes on stalks. They crawl around rooms and can stick to walls and ceilings. Most have no ability to harm anything aside from running into them, although there was once a sub-species that could fire sparks from itself. MOTHER SERIES Bad Buffalo: As part of Legion's fusing of worlds, the Bad Buffalo from Eagleland have invaded Yellowstone Park! Once they begin stampeding, no force on Earth can stop them, and to get in their way is certain death. Hippolauncher: Made for King Porky’s birthday, this is the ultimate fusion of animal and machine. Nothing can be more ultimate than it. Right? *Gate Captain&* New Age Retro Hippy: Once, these gentle creatures wandered Eagleland freely. Then, GIYGAS’ evil influence corrupted them, causing the usually pacifistic Hippies to lash out at a group of heroes. They could brush their teeth so shiny you'd be baffled! They'd lie about your mother calling, and make you mad! Until the Universal Destroyer was defeated, these poor souls lie under his dominion. But wait... How exactly can one be new age AND retro at the same time? Pig Mask: The lead troop in King Porky's Pig Mask Army, these are men and women who signed up out of the promise of happiness. Some say they were also brainwashed into joining. The Pig Masks are mostly completely incompetent, though, so they fail abjectly at their goals. Deep down, they aren't bad people. They just wanted to be happy. Starman: Not much is known about the Starmen, save they serve GIEGUE, and later GIYGAS. They appear to be robotic, given their speech patterns, but even that is in question. They know PSI moves, but how could a robot know those? They are the elite of Giygas' guard, and often guard important locations. Beware PSI Beam! Watch out! They telepor’! Not to be confused with the item. Starman Jr.: His name is decieving- this STARMAN is stronger than the standard one! The first encountered by both Ninten and Ness ( In the Zoo and at the crater, respectivally), he served as a powerfull challanger. The Jr. fought by Ninten was an odd pink color, as are the ones fought by the Coalition. And while the Starman Jr. Ness and Buzz Buzz fought did not know it, the original knew the strikingly powerfull PK Beam- a very dangerous attack! One question though- why is it called Jr.? Because its fought first? *Gate Captain* MYSTICAL NINJA SERIES Drum Dragon: A member of the Peach Mountain Shoguns dressed like a festival dragon. It carries with it a large festival drum, that fires projectiles out the top when it is struck. The projectiles come out randomly, though; not even the drummer knows exactly where they will hit. Dumpling Scrubbers: Part of an automatic cleaning system designed to keep Oedo Castle's floors clean and polished. Once the cleaning cycle is activated, they will keep scrubbing away, sweeping up everything in their path, including people. It is said that their unique appearance is due to their creator being rather hungry when he designed them. Oedo Ninjas: While not actually mambers of the Peach Mountain Shoguns, this clan of diminutive ninjas functions like a mercenary group, hiring out their services to the highest bidder. The Shoguns have hired out the entire clan to assist them in their elaborate plans. Peach Mountain Scarecrow: An automaton built by the Peach Mountain Shoguns, dressed up to resemble a scarecrow of sorts. The Scarecrow is a defense unit, and will fire a spread of bullets at any intruders it detects. However it's biggest flaw is in that it's weapon is designed to eliminate moving targets, meaning that it's bullets are incapable of hitting someone standing still. Peach Mountain Shoguns: Led by the enigmatic man known as Spring Breeze Dancin', the Peach Mountain Shoguns are an infamous gang known for putting on complex and elaborate performances. All of the gang's members make themselves up to look festive, like toys, dolls, festival icons, etc., and carry out their missions in a flashy, attention-grabbing fashion. Their goal is to turn all of Edo into one gigantic stage, from which they can display their extravagant performances to the entire world. NINJA GAIDEN SERIES Attack Dog: A dog trained to attack on behalf of JAQUIO'S minions. It lunges at you and seems to be wearing something. Not to much else here, folks. The Barbarian: Some know him as the Executioner of South America. The natives fear him, and he uses the Brazilian rain forest as his hide out. He is one of the Malice Four, JAQUIO'S most trusted henchmen. They call him the Barbarian, and he earned that name well. Biker: A leather clad biker in service to the Wicked Demon King JAQUIO, the Bikers wield baseballs bats rather badly. Slow moving and weak, the Bikers were easily dispatched by RYU then and the Coalition now. Brown Eagle: Perhaps one of the most infuriating enemies in gaming history, the Brown Eagle is native to peaks and similar regions, it swoops at its prey during crucial leaps, often knocking them into abysses below. They are infamous for this behavior. RETRO SERIES Doh Ship: An alien ship under the command of the "Dimension Controlling Fort Doh", these geometric ships are but a sampling of the Moi mastermind's armada that was sent to stop the Vaus from stopping Doh. Now they plague the reality known as "Doh's Dimension". They are as easy as GOOMBAs. Donkey Kong (Atari 2600): A bizarre, imperfect döppleganger of the real DONKEY KONG, these odd creatures look like they're straight out of a bygone era made with faux wood paneling. Like the first Donkey Kong, they stand and throw barrels at you. Their barrels are distinctly yellow. Scorpion: These odd looking fellows are amongst the oldest enemies in the land. So old are they, they only have two frames! They were a menace to Pitfall Harry back in the day, and they are still a menace today. Sneaker: Once a thorn in Fast Eddie’s side, the Sneakers are living shoes. This in particular seems to be a guardian Sneaker. They towered over the regular Sneakers, protecting the uppermost level of wherever they were, keeping you from progressing. Once all items had been collected, they would revert to the form seen here, a pallete swap of the blue Sneakers. *Goomba skin* The Space Invaders: Invaders! Possibly from space! These iconic alien insects float around in space or in the air, flying in perfect rank and file. They seem to have one strategy and one alone: Drop down, increase speed and reverse direction! One simple shot blows them back to Nintendoo 64. SONIC SERIES Butterdroid: A small butterfly robot found on the Floating Island, Butterdroids are among the smallest robots built by ROBOTNIK. They are often found in groups of two or three. They possess no combat capabilities at all. Buzzbomb: Bee like robots created by DR. ROBOTNIK, they are among the first enemies SONIC fought in the Green Hill Zone. They fly in the air, occasionally stopping to fire lasers at enemies. The concept of flying bee robots has since been reused many times, usually with the same design and different paint. Chopper: One of the first Badniks ever. The third to be exact! This robotic piranha was first found in the Green Hill Zone, and later in Bridge Zone. It jumps through bridges to bite Sonic. It is powered by an animal trapped inside. Cluckoid: Another robot showing ROBOTNIK's fascination with chickens, the Cluckoid were stationed originally in the Mushroom Hill Zone of the Floating Island. Able to suck in large amounts of air and expel them in gale-force winds- particularly annoying when you are stuck in weeds! The Cluckoids are stationary, and resemble weather vanes. Crabmeat: Another of Dr. Robotnik's first Badniks, this robotic crab resides in Green Hill Zone. It doesn't do much aside from trying to walk into you although some claim it is a notorious trickster (Nobody believes them). Much like the others, it is powered by a probably uncomfortable animal. Dragonfly: This Badnik has a rather on the point name. Its a large robot shaped like, well, a dragonfly. Its weakpoint is its head- touching the long, serrated tail will damage you. Mad Mole: A mole-type robot, the Mad Moles hid underneat the Mushroom Hill Zone in small hatches. They wielded large mushrooms that they threw- when hit, SONIC was knocked back with stunning force. Interestingly, the Flying Battery Zone was piloted by a repainted Mad Mole. Yadorin: Another example of an early Badnik, this is a robotic Hermit Crab created by DR. EGGMAN, and powered by small animals. Eggman seemed to have wised up to his enemies' tactics, as this model has spikes that prevent jumping on it- it can only be damaged from the front.
