This level seems really awesome so far. I don't know how I could contribute (since I can't really code or anything), but I could try building the level if all the resources get completed.
Once I get confirmation that the Lifts, Oil Drums, Snapjaw and the animated conveyor belt tiles have been coded, I'll PM you with the level sketch.

i can sprite but i might not be needed anymore >.<. also id like to suggest a Green Snapjaw. why because there were 2 different types. tho in DK94 it was with a bow but thats beside the point... anywho what i was gunna suggest was that the one snapjaw acts like a claptrap(only walking and going down vine*not refering to claptrap*) the green/bow could be more aggressive bye lunging at the player like the squirrel but it moves. so basically walks like the moose and when player is near leaps at them like the squirrel. there i said it

We're just going to stick with the red Snapjaws.

One thing I should mention is that the Snapjaws should interact with Mega Man style ladder collision, too; because that's what will be used for the level.

Back before ipbfree crashed, I had a level written that was sort of like this one. I wish I had actually saved any of the level ideas that I wrote, because it probably would have helped with this one.

How is this level going along anyways?
It's been nearly a month since any news on this happened.

Sorry, just a bit curious that's all - despite the necropost.
And yes, I currently have a stock lighting ball as an avatar - live with it, I'm lazy.

Skins WIP by VeteranPortal:
Retro Luigi - Luigi sprited as he was in SMB2/SMB3, NES style. Complete as of V0.41, JUST have to upload it now and share with the world.
Retro Link - Link sprited as he was in Zelda II, with powerups coming from as if Zelda II was like SMB3 . Completion - 70%, Normal, Boomerang, Bow and Cloud Link Complete. Classic and Deku Link Largely Complete, Bomb Link on Hold for now, Now it's down to Zero Link or Arbiter Link. Due to plain lack of energy and Dev plans to update Link this skin will be on Indefinate Hiatus. My sincere apologies to everyone anticipating this skin.
??? - TBA of commencement. Currently due to lack of time and motivation. Plus V0.5 is a ways off so I can't even get the sprite layout. Hint: It's from an old Compile Game back in the 80's yes, that's a vague hint.

It's been nearly a month since any news on this happened.
I don't know. My work on this level is finished. I have yet to hear about anyone volunteering to code the enemies or stage objects; and those are required before the level can be built.

EvilMariobot sent me the sketches for Kong-struction Site and I've begun building the first room. It's mostly playable, with only a handful of placeholder sprites here and there. Once I'm done I'll send it to someone willing to code up those objects.

I felt the background is out of place, so I frankensprited one for the stage with 3 separate layers. Here, I hope it's usefull. I used the city environment of Battle Clash on the SNES.

Looks like there are two candidates for the level's soundtrack: the one from Super Smash Brothers and the one from Dance Dance Revolution. How about we take a vote?

I personally vote on the one from Super Smash Brothers, as it is based on the dominant soundtrack from the original Donkey Kong.

Alright, the level is tiled and all available objects are in place. If anyone wants to take up the coding work just let me know.

For reference the level still needs:
-Both kinds of oil drums (cycling and constant)
-lift tracks
-blue bricks skinned as barrels
-skinned conveyer belts (I just used the available ones for now)
-snapjaws
-the boss and boss room

I think that should be everything. There was talk about skinning the red coins to look like Pauline's stuff but I'm not sure if we're still doing that.

There was talk about skinning the red coins to look like Pauline's stuff but I'm not sure if we're still doing that.
I see no reason why we wouldn't. Also, you did skin the Sparks to look like the DK Jr. ones, right?
