I finished doing my job for this level, took me a while. Here's a video [utube]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y0v927nD5xQ[/utube] Finlander made a top tier level in here, it's excellent, and also the biggest level MKF has, just like it was suggested several times, and it will be compensated by the fact that W9 is the world with the littlest number of levels next to W5. Zebes really makes justice to the Metroid franchise now. You can spend a lot of time exploring this monster, it has dozens of paths, secrets, shortcuts, etc. Btw I finished coding the space pirates, added a lot of secret areas, fixed all the warps, added sound effects to the enemies, fixed other various glitches I found while testing, added the Lightning Gun, a couple more paths, etc., but it's done now. |

Eff yes. Finally, a huge and wonderful level that does proper justice to the Metroidvania franchise itself. You've got some good talent. I look forward to seeing more of your stuff. |

Hang on a minute, I think the Covenant Grunt's plasma grenade has a new sprite... Also, I think maybe the Space Pirates should have their death screams from the Prime Trilogy. |

Wow, I wonder how many times I'll have to play this level to find everything . . . or if I'll ever be able to tell if I have. Could you perhaps mute or fade out/fade in the BGM when the Jingle plays? They don't sound very good together. An assist item in a level?! Am I forgetting something, or is this the first time we've seen this? Oh, and are the Red Keys limited-use or not? It seems like they sometimes have a number (albeit one that never goes down) and sometimes don't. |

This one looks awesome. Since you wrote that Obreck coded something else I assume that the boss for this stage (Kraid) is already coded and implemented. I tell you I am looking forward to this monstrosity. I've got a couple of questions thoudh: - How many exits will this stage has? This is the PERFECT stage for having several exits (like 3 or 4 exits). At least there should be two since this underlines its explorative character. - How many different coloured keys are there? Blue, red and yellow? - During the video you obtained a bird (forgot its name) on a Chozo statue. Will you actually need it to cross a pit in order to get to a new area? That would be awesome and really clever level design! - Will the key cards be the only things you'll need to find on the statues in order to progress? |

1. Two. One from Kraid, one from SECRETY SORCRET. The aforementioned SECRETY SORCRET exit isn't in the game yet, though, for various reasons. Mostly because Ridley's not in yet. 2. Yeah, blue, red and yellow. 3. No, I'm pretty sure that's just a bonus. The level doesn't even have pits, unless Del did something that I don't know of. It might come in handy at a later level. Free birds! 4. Yeah. Anyways, nice job on those finishing touches, Del! It now looks amazing. |

I think I've just found my newest favorite level. Kudos to Finlander, Del and anybody else who put in a lot of effort into this masterpeice of a level. My only qualm is the loud victory fanfare when you pick up an important item. However I must sound like a broken record, as you are aware of it as everyone else has raised it. Otherwise Astounding work guys, you've made this reactorite very happy. |
|
And yes, I currently have a stock lighting ball as an avatar - live with it, I'm lazy. Skins WIP by VeteranPortal: Retro Luigi - Luigi sprited as he was in SMB2/SMB3, NES style. Complete as of V0.41, JUST have to upload it now and share with the world. Retro Link - Link sprited as he was in Zelda II, with powerups coming from as if Zelda II was like SMB3 . Completion - 70%, Normal, Boomerang, Bow and Cloud Link Complete. Classic and Deku Link Largely Complete, Bomb Link on Hold for now, Now it's down to Zero Link or Arbiter Link. Due to plain lack of energy and Dev plans to update Link this skin will be on Indefinate Hiatus. My sincere apologies to everyone anticipating this skin. ??? - TBA of commencement. Currently due to lack of time and motivation. Plus V0.5 is a ways off so I can't even get the sprite layout. Hint: It's from an old Compile Game back in the 80's yes, that's a vague hint. No you don't need beat to clear anything, though it's a nice idea but I dunno, I doubt most people would even know what it does and would just try jumping recklessly into pits (yes some are they weird). There are more Chozo statues with other rare goodies I only showed a couple. There's at least 1 secret exit planned but it's not done yet. Space Pirates do throw their limbs and regenerate them, I saw it in some super metroid video. And yeah the keys are infinite though I don't know why does the red one show a 1 on its sprite, must be some glitch with the HUD and I don't know where its code is, gonna take a look. Though I fixed the yellow key, it wasn't recording in the checkpoints. |

I'm instantly going to record this stage blindly when v0.5 comes out. I love how it's also got a mixture of other World 9 elements in it, including the Gradius points and the Laser from Contra. The enemies from Halo aren't bad either. But otherwise just pure Metroid at its best in MKF. If Ridley is actually going to make an appearance in this stage...I'm going to enjoy every minute of this stage (as long as I don't get gnawed on too much by Metroids, lol). |

This is excellent work. You guys did great and I will definitely spam this level constantly when 0.5 is release. You'll probably see 5-10 different videos up on youtube by me of this level lol I wonder if Samus is done yet :o

Wasn't this level supposed to use Super Metroid music in order to save space and whatnot? Anywho, great job Finlander. |

Shouldn't make much difference; how much larger could GBA music be? |

Having just played through the Zebes Expedition in v.04, i have to say this new level vastly improves on what was there before. It really looks to be just like the original metroid more so than the SNES, at least as far level design. Although maybe its not, and has more surprises in store. I'm excited for this one. |

I think he means using Super Metroid music in Nintendo's SPC format for this level. Edited by Cap'n Coconuts, Jul 16 2011, 11:09 AM.

Yeah tha's exactly what I mean. I think it would be more efficient if we replaced the tracks with the compressed SNES Super Metroid ones. |

I know...
...and this is what I mean. Call me crazy, but personally, I prefer the Zero Mission music to Super Metroid's. |

Could be time for a poll. I also favor Zero Mission's music over Super Metroid's because of the extra notes. Plus, there isn't true music for Kraid's Lair in Super Metroid, because the song that plays just before his battle plays before any major boss (besides Mother Brain). |
