Trained well enough to know how to follow orders the strong built Brown and white spotted mixed horse would pull forwards, dragging the cart behind him. Passing the corners and finally through the gate, the group would be on their way, rolling along the smoothed out dirt roads. It wouldn't take long as the Gelding quickened his pace, soon outdistancing most of the buildings heading down the road past a last outstanding cottage on the edge of town at a comfortable trot. How the group would pass the time until the sun began to climb down from its perch in the sky would be up to them. As the sun fell and the moon rose the group of travellers would stop to rest for the night. Their current surroundings were still that of the plains. Moderate grasses and random other assortment of plants dotted the area. The cart was pulled up to a bush, someone probably tying the horse to it. The longer they lingered the more may have taken notice of a sweet smell, though very very faint. It was probably coming from one of the flowers nearby, their heads folded up for the night. After helping with the loading Viola stayed quiet for most of the trip, not feeling like bickering with Nothing or speaking with the man from the church, although she presumed he wouldn't want to speak with her anyway. Once they stopped for the night she went to sit on the ground, looking around there wasn't much around except for the plants, and other from a faint smell there didn't seem to be much of interest here but was as good a place as any to spend the night. Those thoughts aside Viola would look to the sky, wondering if tomorrow would be more interesting than today. |

Nothing would set about gathering dried grasses and begin digging out a hole in the ground. Filling the hole with the grasses he would begin striking a knife against a nearby rock. Sending the sparks from the collision of flint and steel into the grasses he would seek to make a fire. After he had got it settled he would wander over the bush seeing if there were any stray branches he could use as fuel. Soon enough however he was starting to feel more than a little light headed from the sweet scent all around them. Something...wasn't quite right. |

As Viola sat starring at her surroundings Nothing made himself useful in going after a fire. In waiting the faint smell would only linger, not getting stronger, but not going away either. It seemed the closed flowers around them still output the same smell they had during the day, one that would grow much stonger when the morning broke as their petals unfurled and their receptors were exposed to the wind. For now though the group would grow drowsy, possibly struggling before at last the welcoming dreams embraced them in their darkness. Upon awakening in the morning they would find the fire had outed itself and that the flowers were open. The horse had wandered to the end of its rope, avoiding the patch of flowers it had been standing by the night before, instead chewing on the grasses where it stood. |

Dante had spent most of the ride in the back of the wagon writing. He would often switch to other books as if he was looking something up before returning to his own to continue. When they settled for the night he took a small moment to sketch the flowers that were not to far from the camp, and check to see if he had encountered such a breed before. Making sure to note their interesting fragrance. Dante slept fitfully at best waking often and normal sharply to nothing, and little more then cold sweats or chills. When he awoke in the morning Dante would take time to lay out a small oiled cloth and light a candle against the morning sun. A brief and barren alter of sorts and he bowed his head muttering gently under his breath. Dante found little rest in even the most comfortable of situations these days, and the solace of a shot meditation was welcome to him. Snuffing the candle with his bare hands he replaced the wares in his back and withdrew his journal again approaching the opened flowers to made a new sketch of them in their blooming state and writing down some notes. Dante didn't fail to notice the steeds avoidance and made note of it in his book. He was not some common beast to be scared by the scent of a bloom, and his curiosity was much stronger. Laying his metal capped stall at his feet he checked the stems for thorns or fruits or other growth to help him figure the type or purpose of this plant. Even if this was a breed commonly encountered personal study would be valuable for his own notes and methods. |

As the group was preparing for its leave once more the adult partnering male had decided that he was going to investigate the plants that had disturbed the horse. They were slightly bigger flowers than normal, a good 4 inches across at the top yet still smaller. The pink buds gave off their fragrance though over the night the smell had dampened almost disappearing completely as the morning had grown still. However in his investigations, Dante's disturbance has aroused the smell again, a very faint sweet smell. These plants were definitely very fresh, most likely newly seeded. His touching fingers caused the flowers to twitch as if being tickled. He could pull them up but it wouldn't be recommended, not that he would know unless someone knew what species of flower this was. Maybe they were endangered, maybe they were poisonous. Either way the cart was ready and the horse was wanting to leave. |

As Dante began caressing the flowers Nothings eyes would widen. The large flowers. The sweet scent. The twitching. "Get away from them!" an unnatural sense of urgency and unease in his voice. Hopping into the cart he would implore Viola to take them away. "I knew something was wrong with this area. The flowers. They're Mandragora. If we pull them up or disturb them too much then they'll begin screaming. After that we'll either pass out or lose all sense of reason. QUICKLY! We can't risk being here any longer." Only once they were far away would Nothing breathe a sigh of relief. Although Mandragora roots were quite valuable, dealing with them especially in the numbers they were in back there, would have been an incredibly arduous process. Assuming Viola managed to keep her stamina up, Nothing estimated they would arrive at the impact site either at the end of this day, or the beginning of the next. |

When Viola woke up in the morning the first thing she did was to get some distance away from the boy and man and stretched before doing her usual morning excercise. At first she didn't pay much attention to the two until she heard Nothing speak out, presumeably to the man from the church, according to the child wizard the flowers were actually mandragoras. After that Nothing went on to add that if they disturbed them too much the plant girls would start screaming, Viola wasn't bothered as much as the kid seemed to be as she was pretty sure the plants couldn't scream unless their head was poking out of the dirt. Putting those thoughts aside Viola went to get the horse back to the cart, taking a bit more time that one would normally expect due to the horse not wanting to be near the mandragoras but after a bit she got it to the right place, she then took a few more moments to make sure the horse was properly attached to the cart. After that was done Viola got on the cart as well, if the man of the churche wasn't already on the cart she would ask him to get a move on otherwise she would get the horse moving. (Darn, its been so long since last time... >.<) |

Dante gave the two of them a side glance as he was treated like some novice by the child. It was a remarkably thick patch for Mandragoras. That in itself was off, but Dante had no use for the plant personally and collecting it would be too long a process for him to be interested in under taking them. Dante made little effort to hurry him self in his sketching and note taking as he detailed the structures of the plant, and the flowers. Notes in the margins about the scent, and the independent motion that they were making. Dante had many questions to ask, and not nearly enough information to make a theory. He placed his leather bound note book away, and retreated one with the emblem of the church on it looking for information about the Mandragoras. "Sonic magic... Hmmmmm." The information wasn't that useful. According to what was the excepted view. Mandragoras were demonic plants that should be burned out of their hiding spots, and disposed of. The roots had medical properties, but unauthorized use or collection was forbidden. He closed the book with a sigh, and rubbed the bridge of his nose as the lizardwoman was telling him to hurry up. He looked at the cluster of plants..... Harmless. They were far enough away from human settlements and displayed no aggressive reactions on their own that it would not be required for him to remove them... He did make note of their location in his personal map, and with one last look at them his curiosity hardly sated he got into the wagon. "You have very low expectations of others." He said to the young man. Nothing was what he recalled that he went by. "Ripping up any local flora is foolish, Mandragora or not." He glanced over his glasses at him. "What do you know of these.... Monsters." He finished almost tentatively. Dante's eyes were sharp even if his curiosity got the better of him many times. "Why would someone like you know anything of such things." He pressed his mouth a tight line, and for once the bit of charcoal that he's been using was still, and his full focus turned to his traveling companions. Human male, clearly involved with monsters, not likely the lizardwoman. No possessive or even warm interactions between them, but enough history so facilitate working together, or.... His mind continued to roll the situation over. Dante's interest in the fallen star, and what he could do with it had caused him to leave himself open to how troublesome this situation could be if his views opposed the others. A member of the feared Church he was willing to bet that their interest in his goals was as limited as his in theirs. He would need to insure that he paid more attention to them. They were working together as long as it meant reaching the star..... once they got there? |

It would be automatically assumed that Nothing may have had a comment or two towards the bigger bodies male but non the less they still had to get going. * * * * * As the group would get closer to the destination that was predetermined they'd find the ground to be getting rockier as they moved into more rough territory. When they'd get up closer... There would be an obvious sight of a large crater. Several people were scrambling over it, others had shovels and were trying to re-even out the land as it cut through a major 'highway' of sorts. If they had looked into the hole, the meteorite would be no where to be found. Perhaps they would need to ask one of the workers where they put it. There was one man in particular, farmer type, over seeing the whole work project. He would probably be their best bet. |
