The woman looked down on the slightly shorter man... She had at least 4-5 inches on him to say none the less. Her expression still held, a smile pulling up on her face as he stood. This was very good. Perhaps this healing magic could be put to better use than regular medical practices. However he came to mention the price.. Which wasn't really a price at all. This confused her to a small degree. She was used to giving out, not exactly receiving. Lifting the strung bag that was still in her hand she raised an eyebrow in slight concern. "Are you sure? I was just going to scribe them. If someone else needs the pages in the future, since there seems to be not too many because as you said, scholars tended to disregard them as mere fantasy..." Her voice trailed off, the body shuddering before she perked back up. That was an odd feeling. Anyways.. To continue. "I assure you, this is going to become a common topic. Others may want this information." She tilted her head curiously, having recovered from whatever had just gone on to cause the shuddering. "Well.. Either way, I can't just take them." The bags bounced together slightly as she lifted them again. "What is the price of your remaining Doctor's bills?" The woman paused thinking to herself for a moment before perking, the distant expression fading. "And then I have realized that I have not even properly introduced myself. My name is Animela Kunti. My father Seikou is also a Scholar like yourself though more of a Traveler and Documenter than an Archivist." |

He looked at her, taken aback at the offer she made. "The..The doctor bills? I...I couldn't have you pay that all off yourself. We had to sell off a good deal of my belongings to even cover a third" He said, holding onto Dhalia's side as he stood up, weight on both legs for the first time in many weeks. he was also very confused. What did this woman know of people wanting to learn more of wonderland? He'd not heard anything in the local rumor mill about it himself, though he had not been more than a short distance from the shanty for a fairly long time now. "Animela, if that is the case, at least allow me to do the work of scribing the notes for your personal copy, if you plan to pay so generously." |

"Mumble mumble mumble..." The raven on her shoulder hunkered itself down, tail feathers draping down her arm as she pressed her face into the side of Animela's cowl. The girl simple rose a hand, stroking through the soft feathers before making an answer to the male. "If your bills were so expensive for so little progress that you still couldn't move on your own then that tells me you've been dealing with a few scam artists who knew they couldn't treat you but tried to anyways." She stated looking back down to her bag, fishing through it until a much smaller bag, one with four knots to its string, was found to be pulled up from the depths of the leather bound bag. "I have no real need for money. I live a lifestyle independent from it. However I've accumulated a bit unintentionally by selling off the furrs from my hunts that I don't need after putting them through a tanning process that leads to a soft skin and very soft fur still attached. I've found that I prefer my meat fresher these days so while the rest still gets turned into Jerky if I'm not near a town, the rest also gets sold off. There is a reason I didn't want to show my bags much around the market. The damn stall owners are nosy." The hand left the bird to open the smaller bag, picking out a single piece of platinum raising it up to observe the rainbow iridescent silver. 'I go by the offer by typically I get one gold for every fur I sell off from the average sized deer. 30 silver from a large rabbit due to its wanton of the softer fur. Go at one or the other every two days. Or both every day for all of last summer while I was hunting meat for the local church.... ' Her eyes flickered making quick calculations. "Based on averages, I've made around 2 Platinum, 3 gold, 10 silver in the past year from furs and skins alone. This doesn't include the spring in which I spent learning to tan my own hides and develop my own way of doing so accidentally." The piece was dropped back into the bag, eyes glancing down at it she wasn't really talking to him anymore by the time she started spitting out numbers. She was more or less still making her calculations, speaking her thoughts. "But I rarely use any of it beyond Copper and Silver pieces for things I can't normally get without it like Ink for writing. So it just builds but the system works. Then there's the extra I made in meats but I can't be sure exactly how much I've made in both fresh and jerky... I've been doing it for a while... " She settled going quiet. 'I'm not exactly sure how much I have beyond the 4 Platinum in this bag. Haven't really bothered counting the smaller pieces... Or even these. There's just fewer of these ones. which is easy to count with a single glance.' "Hmmn..." The Golden Brown orbs drifted back up to the male in waiting ears flicking having realized she'd been speaking parts of it out loud. "I-I..." Her face flushed in the stammer, a beak poking into her face, nibbling at her cheek before her head turned away, the red being willed to fade. "While it isn't all that much, I enjoy helping where I can. It's one of the reasons why, despite how he treated me for years, that I helped Nothing in his travels after I found him entrapped by an Alraune all those years ago. I was at least doing some good for someone who needed it. He may still have acted like an old man every once in a while but he was still much nicer then. An excellent speaking partner as well when out and about." "It is all but Nothing." |

Botg the scholar and the goblins went bug eyed as she said how much she had made in the last year alone. It was almost mind boggling to him. His coin purse rarely had better than silver coins within it, even at the best of times. "I, well, my chirugeon costs came to about six Gold, eight Silver and 9 Coppers." he said, biting his lip a bit. "But I can;t ask you to pay all that...as much as it would help...It would not be right of me to given the work I've rendered for you." he said, feeling Dhalia squeeze at his arm rather emphatically, seeming a bit less enthused about his refusal to accept the sizable sum of coin. |

The Anubis tilted her head to the side curiously. That number didn't seem all that bad. She dropped the 4 knotted Platinum pouch into her satchel as well as the 2 knotted one, keeping the 3 knotted bag out for herself. Considering the hundred to one ratio for each coin up it wouldn't take much to cover what he had required. He may have taken claim to it being such a large amount but in reality to her that was a little under two weeks pay. She furrowed her brow in a bit of confusion. She wasn't really one for money but it seemed his work didn't make as much as it should. Perhaps he was undercharging or wasn't getting enough customers... Or the living expenses drained his pocket faster than it could fill it. Either way, she dug her hands into the small pouch, pulling up a couple pieces. "I can do one gold piece per page." She offered in a causal manner, counting and dropping three pieces into one hand. "I can give a forth if you allow one of your ladies to answer my question from earlier as to what my Ebony Paperweight is for since you sent the one who seemed to be ready to answer my question away before she could go beyond darting around the topic." She paused in thought as if trying to figure something after knocking the next one into her hand. "A fifth and sixth if you'll keep in correspondence with me with any new information found. You won't need a location. The Raven with the white feet... Peri I think they call him there, can usually find me from anywhere. Galadal was one of his egg mates and had the same talent before losing the ability to fly long distances. Both were housed within the Everton carrier services building with the other birds. Talk to the owner, he's 3 copper a round trip flight but he always gets to me. I can send the needed pieces in the leather coin pocket they attach to the opposite foot. " |

His jaw hung open a bit at the offer, and he wanted to refuse it, but holding onto him, Dhalia squeezed with aching force. She might have been one of the sweetest and shyest of her sisters, but when money was involved, especially to this degree, coin came to the forefront of her mind as much as it would her sisters. He winced and quickly nodded his head at the proposition. ”Y-yes that sounds fine by me. I’ll be sure that I do so, and send you whatever information I can when you need.” He said, he himself almost beguiled by the amount of money that was being offered to them. For this job alone. “Um, I’m sure that one of the girls would be happy to talk to you about that when you are leaving as well.” he said, nodding his head to the several heads that were peering in on the exchange. |

The Anubis would end up giggling to herself, something that hadn't been done in quite some time. She felt.... Bubbly. His reaction amused her. Something had been stirred. A glint was added to the eye, a bit of life being brought back into them, having been lost from long ago. Perhaps... The Golden brown orbs glanced upwards. The Raven flapped her wings, hopping from a shoulder onto her head snuggling down in between her ears. Of course. "While I do have a habit of running into Colleagues at a constant, it is most likely that the next time we see each other in person I will not look the same." She leaned over, placing the 6 coins on the nearby table before straightening herself, tugging on her satchel, then sat down. "This may be good, this may be bad. Either way, in the view of those on-looking, I am not here and I was never here unless the scholar Seikou asks for me." She stated, gloved hands folding into her lap. "I'd also like to apologize for the troubles my boy has caused you. The Amazons warned me he would make a disobedient 'husband' though outside of their village I make no such claims. Saying so now would probably piss him off. I feel that I am partially to blame for his actions though. I made a few wrong choices in my words, was all flustered in the moment. Anger makes you stupid. Ended up Angering him, he flew off in a huff and now I feel that his anger may be dampening his logical skills. It also doesn't help that his body is still that of a child and the physical brain still isn't completely mature. I should have calmed myself before speaking for this all could have been avoided." Animela gave off a warm smile though embarrassed with the words she had stated. But it was at least the truth. In the law of the Amazon he was technically her husband even if she hadn't treated him as such outside of the village and she did indeed feel responsible for his current course of actions. |

The scholar nodded as the coins were dropped on the counter, that sum itself almost enough to cover his and the goblin's debts clean from the board. "Yes, of course, not a word of your arrival or departure to anyone." he said, as he stood, listening to her. When the subject turned to that of the young magus, he frowned a bit, but acquiesced to her words. "Him being around might have been a trying experience, but I can't deny that he at least tried to help in his own....odd ways." He said, as he looked to the pages. "If you give me just an hour or two, I can have the pages completely redone for you to be on your way. As for keeping in contact, whatever questions you need to ask, I'm sure you have your ways of sending them." He said, with the goblin's help. already being helped over to a small impromptu writing desk they had set for him in the corner. |

The woman nodded, relaxing back into the chair she had taken. "Of course." The mermaid, having been ignored in her babbling for a while now, now had attention turned to, verbally catching up with the old friend in the process. Some of the more... secretive details left for later due to present company. The last time she'd seen this woman it had been winter and she'd been staying at the Vampire's place. Her personal story had started here, flowing through into the death of the Vampires husband, their leave, off into adventure, the saving of Nothing's ass(The boy she had been traveling with) through various trials by the Amazon people by claim of husband then proving she was human enough to own him. Then it took another turn, couple of pretty rowdy adventures, splits in the winter while he stayed with his Vampy mistress before the final meet up the spring before the last which had caused her the gain of the Bird when it was taken hold of by a ghoul after trying to deliver her the letter asking her to come for the building of his tower. She later moved a couple miles downriver closer to a pro-human town where a guise was used to interact successfully where information was collected, friends were made, the community was helped by the church actually acting like a church for their people, a soup kitchen held to feed everyone in which she helped provide for so the community could enjoy their wealth together. During the time she had been working on finding the differences between the current and very old versions of the bible, showing various notes to the blue haired girl. She eventually had stopped going to town when her morphing magic stopped working after a visit from the boy which ended badly causing her disguise to stop being able to be used and she eventually left that winter for a couple other adventures and ended up here. The story had been broken down, interjected at times by the mermaid's own recollections and comments as they conversated, Ani, more aware of interested ears while the mermaid... not so concerned. |
