8th of Summer, Year 605

So Much... Water... So Much.. Heat...

The robe bound woman leaned over the railings of the boat, ears twitching beneath the cowl over her head. Why was she still wearing this Nun garb? Draped head to toe in the black material aside from the whitened material that fell about her shoulders, even her furred hands were gloved. It could probably account for most of her overheating despite the sun beating down overhead. The weather was at least nice even if she wasn't really dressed for it.

Yet, she was on her way to Nikuyokushima, the one place nearly guaranteed to be monster friendly so why was she wearing this? You could knock this all up to one really bad night. The Anubis had been spending the night in the harbor town of Mooringfields when she'd come across an old friend of hers who proceeded to take her to a bar. A drink or two later and while she still remembered every moment that had occurred, the mind had become clouded in its judgement. A strange occurrence involving an Orc, a Human girl, and a Gyoubu Danuki, the Canine had ended up losing her clothing and had to default to her Nun-like wear. Luckily she hadn't managed to lose anything else.

Galadal currently sat on the railing besides her, head bobbing repeatedly as if trying to figure out what the Anubis had been looking at. The woman looked up at the Raven, moving a hand to stroke at the feathers. At least the bird wasn't doing too badly though feeding would be in order soon enough. Her attention turned back downwards into the water, ears flicking beneath the Black and white cap.

While they were halfway to their destination it was really heating up... and they'd still quite a long distance to go.

The male slowly stepped closer to the ships edge, looking out over the railing whilst raising the side of his hand to his forehead. Saluting nothing in particular in a vain attempt to block the sunlight from his eyes, but only cringed as the water below mirrored the sun among the waves, making the surface of the water shimmer and glow. This made him sigh as he couldn't see their destination due to the brightness and heat stifling his black clothing, which he began to regret wearing at a time like this.

Slowly, the male turns around, pressing his back and center to the railing, leaning against it as he moves his sleeve across his forehead, wiping at a couple beads of sweat that fall from his dark locks down his pale, almost ivory face.

"I'm going to have to make different clothing for days like this."

He stated this quietly to himself in an annoyed mutter but shrugs off the feeling quickly as his attention then turns to a female and pet at his left. Looking to them both he tilted his head as he sensed something off about her, something almost ominous that drew his curiosity forward above caution. He looked forward as to not seem like he was staring at her, glancing over a few times at her form to sate his curiosity as best he can without being noticed.

Unsure of whether he should come forward to speak to her, he instead pushes himself from the railing and slowly walks down the deck in her direction, slowing quite a bit as he walked by her backside, narrowed eyes scanning her form, questioning whether to simply walk up next to her and introduce himself.

Eyes... Eyes... It's almost as if she could sense them glancing and moving away and looking back once more. It made her fur prickle... Alert even.

And now the footsteps. An ear twitched slightly with each connection of his shoes upon the wood, each coming closer and slightly louder the further he came. Even with the sounds of the Ocean, no matter how quiet the man tried to be, he wouldn't be able to escape her amenable hearing. The raven puffed herself up at his approach letting out a loud squawk to which was quieted by the gloved hand moving over her beak. "...you..!... you!" The small black feathered head was batted and pressed downwards.

Then the cowl turned towards him slowly, the Light brown... almost golden irises starring at him almost curiously. What was he doing? He had been looking at her and had come this way? Well.. He could want to talk could be the best guess. Considering the past 24 hours putting her in a not so good mood, the hands clenched at the ill-gotten memories, face turning back towards the water. Her voice remained steady... Calm despite the brief shaking which quickly subsided. "Sir, is there something I can help you with?"

The young man slows in his steps looking down to the floorboards before him realizing now that she must've been more than aware of his glances and studying of her form. He froze after hearing her voice for the first time, unsure what to say right away before replying in a surprisingly low but gentle voice to her question.

"Oh, forgive me I came out to get some fresh air and was looking for company but, I didn't know if you wanted to be bothered."

His glance now turned toward her again with a smile before closing his eyes in a kind manner, purple hazed eyes opening as he then looked to the bird that to his hidden surprise had attempted to talk. With a few steps he leans his back along the railing next to her now but on the opposite side of the bird before commenting again further on what he said before.

"You seem rather troubled honestly, so I assumed you wanted to be alone as well."

He chose to go quiet again wondering how she would reply to his slight lie, though he remained calm as he could feel the ominous aura about her stronger now, making the hair on the nape of his neck stand one end, though doesn't cause fear. Just more questions rising to the surface of his mind about the young lady. Who is she? Where had she come from and where is she going? Hoping to find answers he remained at her side now in a seemingly relaxed lean against the railing, listening for an answer through the quiet sounds of waves rushing along and against the ships lower deck.

The Anubis perked slightly, the man moving to her other side. She turned to face him once more, a bit more curiously, less wary than she had just been. "Oh n-no I'm fine. Just waiting for us to get there is all. It's rather hot... If I didn't know that I'd drown I'd consider jumping in. Although..." She bite her lip glancing down at the shoes for just the seconds before bringing her eyes back towards his face. This new colour thing was still a bit odd though it had now been over a year. Despite the Dark Purple eyes being shown to her so similar to her old ones... A rare colour to begin with... She'd not have made a note of it. To her they simply showed up as a Deep Blue, a side effect of the Deuteranopia colourblindness. But it was at least an improvement from her former monochrome scene.

The female shook her head, the cloth sliding back and forth over her shoulders, shaking off the earlier thoughts. No.. no... That wasn't right. "I don't mind being 'bothered' if that's how you're going to put it. A bit of talk may help to pass the time even if only briefly." She nodded in conclusion, eyes slowly closing, almost sighing though she had caught herself before it could come.

He listened intently to her replies, listening carefully whilst watching her expressions and motions, realizing almost all to easy that there was indeed something she was hiding or something that was bothering her other than the heat and boredom of the long journey. Closing his eyes then looking up in the opposite direction of the sun he spoke again softly.

"I see. I agree though, not much to do on a journey other than talk but I'm traveling alone, so it gets pretty lonely and rather tiring at times."

His eyes track over to her once more, turning his head, looking first to her bird then back at her with a smile, questioning once more to continue the first conversation he had for quite some time now.

"Where may I ask are you traveling to, and for what pray tell? If it's not too intrusive to ask that is."

He looked a little concerned for a moment in fear that he might have overstepped too far in his questions to where she'd shrug him away. Rubbing the back of his head with I light chuckle to show his true amnesty about the question, he'd smile still despite itching to find out what she was truly hiding.

"I... I know what you mean by that. It's just been me and Galadal here for quite some time. For about about a year and a half starting in the winter. I ended up receiving her the next spring." The comment was made, the bird deciding nestle down into the railing, beak and head prodding until it was let to bury itself beneath her hand causing the Anubis to crack a slight smile, gently rubbing, the Raven making her own comment. "Mumble mumble mumble..."

"Mhmm.. Mumble mumble... While she might not be one for a conversationalist, Ravens can be quite intelligent. She's been slowly picking up more phrases though I do admit she's got a few favorites. Tends to use them at odd times but others are quite appropriate for at least what I'm currently thinking." Her thumb moves rubbing at the small beak, looking back up at the male. "I admit, it's been a bit lonely just her and I but with the way things are, I'm quite fine with that." Unseen ears twitched going silent for the moment until the next question was thrown her way. This wasn't going too bad at least.

"No, I don't mind. I ended up getting a letter from my father who is currently in Yami no Tengoku apparently. I'd been looking for him for a while... Hadn't seen him in quite some time either. I'm not sure if I'll be able to recognize his face. Bit of a Traveling Scholar I guess, Goes by the name of Seikou Kunti. I don't know much about him other than he's been a lot of places and apparently some towns knew more about him than I did." She frowns slightly before looking away.

He chuckles a little at her first comment about the raven named Galadal at her side, not in any way a demeaning type of laugh, but moreso because he finds it interesting that it would be able to speak as she says it could. After answering his question however he remained quiet in contemplation over the name given to him of her father, trying to remember if he had heard of it before. After a few moments of silent thought he comes up with nothing, unable to remember whether he had heard the name before or not.

"I see, thats interesting though about Galadal, I've never seen nor heard of a raven being able to speak at all. Also, I'm sorry to hear that you haven't been able to speak or see your father. I myself am about the same, I never knew my father so..."

He goes silent again looking to the side this time remembering a little of his own dark past, closing his eyes he'd shrug off the bitter memories before smiling and looking over to Galadal slowly leaning over and placing his chin upon his arm resting on the rail as though trying to discern how well it can truly talk, raising a brow to see if it would react.

"Hello there Galadal, hope your enjoying the boat ride so far too?"

"I didn't mean it like actually speaking. Many types of birds including Ravens and even more commonly known, Parrots, can learn to pick up phrases and use them. Gal's just picked up quite a few." The woman tried to warn but the man had continued on. Perhaps she shouldn't be so soft spoken... Going elsewise though wasn't really in her nature. "Well I admit it has been since before a time I had forgotten long ago. A child really. I... Look a lot different than I did then. Things happen you know?"

The goes quiet watching him try and interact, a few simple words being spoken from the male's mouth. Hearing words directed at her however, the Raven slowly pulled its head out from the Anubis's hand cocking her head at him, turning to the side to better angle on his view. A low squawk came in reply before the low croaked voice rang again. "It's hot!.. It's... hot!..." The bird paused for a moment, almost thinking before cocking her head in the other direction, beak facing Animela as the other eye was turned to catch him. "No fish... for.. you." Galadal ruffled her feathers, sitting down plainly, head pulling into her fluffed up body. "Mumble Mumble mumble..."

Animela chuckled, stroking into the back feathers to play with them. "She can understand you just fine and she has a small sense of how to use the phrases. The tricky part is getting people to understand what she means when she says them. Sometimes they don't make sense at all but I assume those are just her wanting to hear herself or to experiment with the voice. I told her to shut up once and she told me No. I was confused but I'm still learning myself. I hadn't realized that maybe she was smarter than I thought."

He claps his hands together after the raven ceases it's talking, laughing heartily with a smile, quite impressed by its ability to talk in the first place. Having listened to Ani's words however made him clear his throat and go more straight faced, focusing more on her now he merely placed his fist to his lips whilst he cleared his throat before placing his palm upon his chest with a nodding motion.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean..."

He went silent feeling like the conversation may have taken a darker turn, with quick thinking he picked up what she had said and tried to show a kindness that he hadn't shown many people, speaking not only from experiencing the hope of his reply, but also sincerely hoping that someone who might have went through the same pains might have a better chance and outcome than he did. Speaking with a concerned look he'd frown only slightly, looking directly into her eyes to show his altruistic nature deep down.

"Hey, I'm sure you'll be able to see him soon now and make up for lost time. You'll probably be recognized by him right away as I'm sure you'll recognize him at a first glance as well. Even if it has been a long time."

He spoke in a reassuring fashion, hoping to change the darker feel of the conversation to a lighter one before it ended abruptly due to a bitter topic. Without thinking the male almost reaches out wanting to give a pat to her shoulder to give greater meaning to his words with action, but stops short, holding his hands together in front of himself.
