And of course after she'd scooted away the male had in return moved back towards her. Wait.. the... Male. Forgetting her previous thought, an ear would flick her head tilting. "We haven't even bothered to introduce ourselves yet I've already told you my father's name. How rude of me." She stopped her foot's movement coming to a stop, the bird on top of her head flapping its wings in annoyance. "My name is Animela, same Surname as my Father. Most people just have a habit of calling me Ani though." The girl shook her head a little, watching as he took out the things for fishing. "Fish? I... I'm not much of a cook beyond dehydrating and attempted heating without hurting myself, I will admit to that. Most of what I eat is usually raw. I only used to cook the meats when I was traveling with a young boy. He wasn't fond of raw meats but often was too busy to cook it himself. So I made a few attempts. Usually went for a light browning since charcoal really tastes gross in my opinion. I'm a bit better at it than I was but I still prefer to not cook myself. I don't really like fire." She flushed looking away. In towns, most women usually bragged of their cooking skills and how it satisfied their husbands. She on the otherhand was afraid of an open flame and would rarely tackle the matter unless needed. It almost made her a little ashamed of herself in the right truth but fear is fear. |

He suddenly ceases his movement back into the bag in order to find a small block of wood to work with, eyes widening at her statement about introductions. He'd look down then pull the block of wood out, placing it on the wooden deck before pressing a hand to his face, almost laughing at his disregard. He continues to listen however as she speaks of her abilities or non existant ones when it comes to culinary arts. He shakes his head after she finishes speaking. "I am so very sorry, I completely got lost in our conversation, then this happened so it slipped my mind. My name is Grimm with two M's." He pulls out a small sharpened knife and chipper before getting to work on the wood in silence for a moment, forcing the chipper to break the small block in half first, separating a piece large enough to make a simple hook before speaking again. "Also, theres nothing wrong with having trouble cooking when you have a disliking to fire. I don't mind it all that much, and I've learned to cook quite well since I'm the same as the friend you mentioned. I'm not the fondest of raw meat, but I'll eat certain kinds raw. Theres no shame in not being able to cook though, especially if you don't do it often. When I first started I burned everything, even salads." He lets out a hearty laugh remembering back to his first time cooking for his mom when she was sick in bed. Luckily she wasn't sick enough to be unable to walk otherwise the house probably would've burned down by the time he was done making her porridge. |

The Anubis chuckled slightly at his responses while allowing herself to calm down and relax a little. He was... Fishing... Or at least going to. That seemed interesting enough. On top of it he was making the rod and pole from the items in his bag. But would there even be any fish near enough to the boat to find anything? They would find out soon enough, that curiosity would be sated then. The girl's eyes closed in listening to him, ears flicking at the sounds of the trickling waters splashing up against the sides of the boat in its stagnant position. Well he knew how to cook, better than she could say in the least. He must have lived by himself for a while at least. Men typically didn't bother with learning unless they were really curious or were forced to. At least in her memory anyways. Her eyes popped open with the last statement turning to look at him in confusion. "You burnt Salads? That's not something you cook, that's something you prepare. The lettuce isn't even supposed to touch heat or it'll wilt." At least that was one thing she knew. Cooking was one thing, preparation was another. |

He continued working on his hook after he finished laughing at himself before hearing her words, smiling and blushing a little, rubbing the back of his head in both embarrassment as well as the thought that he was making her smile and take her mind off of their current predicament, even if only for a little bit. "Hahaha. Well, lets say I was attempting to cook cabbage, spinach, or carrots and not bring up the broccoli, lettuce, and celery." He spoke true as to which ones he succeeded in cooking and which were utter failures. Silently he thought of the past more for a few moments before asking out of curiousity as well as thinking how despite his traveling, he isn't really trying to reach any destination or goal in reality, but hopes she doesn't find that out. "So when we arrive, about how far is the place where you say your father is residing? I've never been this way before so.." Edited by Azuregrimm, Sep 29 2015, 02:25 PM.

"Supposedly he's staying in an Inn nearer to the center of Yami run by a Jurougumo. Supposed to be under the name of 'Syrichi's Auberge'. So I'm going to have to look for it. We're heading for the nearest port along the coast line but Yami's one town over. Not too far of a walk to say the least. I could probably run there myself in 15 minutes or less. I've been in the area... Before..." She trailed off, skin prickling at her last memory of the area. It had been.. quite interesting... An Intimate moment shared in the Autumn before her celibacy took a turn from choice to a matter of trying to do the right thing. Back when she was a Werewolf. She flushed in her remembrance, staying quiet as she looked back down into the water, slowly chewing. It had been a wonderful night but she had to go back to the boy in the end. The next time she'd saw the man he'd picked up a mate.. Ironic for her case since it was an Anubis he'd found. She looked upwards in her thoughts. He probably wouldn't recognize her if they ever met again... She still wore his pendent too. It was a wonder how he was doing these days... |

His brow raises as he looks to her with a little confusion listening to her trail off then notices the blush, thinking as to what the cause might be but shrugs it off a little, not wanting to poke for information when he could tell it would be inappropriate, but wonders if its because of a possible danger within the area. After he finishes carving the hook within a few moments after her reply, he speaks in curiousity. I see, well...I don't really have anywhere to go nor a destination so... He'd flush a little, wondering himself why he was feeling bashful about asking. Perhaps it was because of how long it has been since he ever desired having a companion to tag along with in his travels. Most of which were none to pleasing to be around in the first place. Was it because he longed for the idea of traveling with someone he actually enjoyed talking to or spending time with? Maybe it was a more deeper reason that he couldn't understand yet, such as the reason he couldn't touch her, and why he felt her presence was more dark, despite the now obvious truth that she isn't anything less than kind and gentle. Regardless he continued his question. "Would you mind if I tagged along? I mean...at least until you reach your destination?" He finished the last part with slight hesitation, disliking the thought of putting a set time on when he would have to part ways with her. Edited by Azuregrimm, Sep 29 2015, 03:44 PM.

"Ah, typical wanderer. I used to do the same thing, then I had a few goals pushed into my head that I now need to complete. Just means I've got a little more direction." Animela would allow herself to admit to this though she'd taken to refusing to look at him. More thoughts were popping up... Less hers the more it continued. She was silently starring into the water seeming almost captivated though one would never have been able tell that starring into the depths below... Despite the shallower water it would still be above her head. There was fear... Masked in a stone set face. Then his question popped up, her expression breaking, ears raising in concern. "I... I suppose so. You'll get bored soon enough I guess. I had a mermaid following me around for a little while... more or less 3 days at the maximum. She ran off so I didn't bother to go and find her. It would have been a waste of time... To chase another when they simply didn't want to be there anymore." The ears lowered from their 90 degree point upwards tilting back a few degrees as she relaxed again. Yes... He could follow her. He'd eventually run off anyways if he stuck around any longer. If he didn't she could just slip away. Best not to bring along a temptation. He should leave when she reached the inn... Or at least assumed he would. |

After listing to her speak, her words bring both joy and a slight sadness from him, unsure what would have caused the mermaid to leave. Regardless he felt a strong desire to prove her wrong, that he would prefer to stay actually longer by her side, but didn't want to say it as it seemed odd alone to think. Why was he drawn to her, and why did he choose to go with her when he was more than certain she could manage on her own. "I see, I'm sorry to hear about the mermaid but, I don't see how I would get bored. Heh, frankly I enjoy being around you, if thats not too odd to say. I've never been able to talk to a complete stranger soo easily and..." He trailed off flushing at the cheeks a little, feeling he had already said some awkward things passed what he had wanted to say, hoping she didn't find him weird. To quickly attempt saving himself from embarrassment, he quickly rises to his feet after looping the hook with twine, moving to the edge of the ship next to her, blushing as he speaks in a stammer moments after finishing his previous statement. "W-Well then, I'll see if I can't catch us some grub." |

"Please don't apologize to me." An ear twitched with the request still looking down. "She simply found something more interesting to do. She may have even intended to come back and I ended up leaving her behind. Either way, she is gone now. So are many others that I've met in my travels." The Anubis slowly blinked, mentally flipping through the words in a quiet self repeat. One ear would pull backwards, rotating to almost face the other direction. A few cracking sounds were heard, the boat tilting to the side slightly.. almost repeatedly. Gloved hands gripped into the railings to hold still as this continued. ""Nyrrgh... what now? |

He sighed in slight relief, glad to hear she wasn't made awkward by his words, but also feels bad that it caused her to dredge up a bad memory. Desiring to apologize but hearing her say not to makes him remain silent, looking to the waters edge before he too hears the sounds she heard. "Mm! What was that?" He looked around with a nervous glance toward the side that tilted downward toward the water on the opposite end of where they stood. Thoughts raced through his mind before looking to Ani with subtle concern. |
