"Do we really have to go there, pops?!"

The bridge of the ship echoed a quite childish, whiny question. The shuffle of feet soon followed, and Bei was stuck standing without an answer, staring at the backs of the crew who refused to put up with her whining. These were orders, and they would follow them, despite whoever disagreed. Bei stumbled forward and grasped the back of Captain Steele's shirt, tugging him back a bit despite his obviously bulky stature. he definitely had been a seasoned war veteran. She could see his scars. He turned around at the annoyance, looking at her with a slightly sympathetic expression.

"Sorry, but orders are orders. We are to return to China for now and await further orders from the Domain."

He nodded his head before turning back to the direction of his quarters, fixing his shirt as he'd strode down the hall. He was surprisingly conscious of himself. Sighing to herself, Bei dragged each of her heavy feet back down the corridor to her barracks. They had just been finished with all the commotion at Marseilles, and even picked up a new person. But why didn't it feel refreshing any more? Passing by Jan's door, she stopped and stared at the plate that held his name engraved in simple, roman font. Her hand raised instinctively as if to knock, but she hesitated and snapped back to her senses, biting her bottom lip lightly.

The hydraulics of her quarters was a short-lived sound, and she'd hoped she hadn't disturbed the new fighter that now receded left to her own room. Plopping down on the bed, her other new addition squeaked and weaseled it's way on top of the shelf nearest her head, looking down at her with beady, onyx-colored eyes. It was cute, she'd continued to thought. Raising a curled index finger, she softly rubbed the side of it under the Red Panda's chin, causing it to grin in almost a fox-like manner. This creature was whom she now referred to as 'Mei.' A twin, of sorts. A little sibling, even.

"Mei-Mei...Must I really return to Master Jia.....and my father?"

Jade eyes closed behind porcelain lids, and the world seemed black. A hazy cloud peaked up against the black canvas of her mind, each cloud holding it's own hue. they swirled and mixed much like the Aurora Borealis she'd heard of in books, but each of these pastels merged to form silhouettes of people; Even going so far as to detail every little facial feature. It was her and her father, Xiang Nu. She stood in stance, one fist balled. her hair was boy-short at this time, and her body showed no signs of feminine growth. She was the perfect androgynous being at that time....

"Fu Qin (Father), are you sure you want me to do this...?"

She had spoke nervously, looking at the pottery and wood stacked in front of her. The clouds were still, until the father's silhouette nodded. She sprung from her feet, and the clouds mimicking the target shattered in an instant, fading into the black canvas. Bei's eye shot open from her lucid dream, looking to the now faded lights and the sleeping animal. It was only her at this moment. She cautiously removed her clothes, stepping as quietly as she could against the floor, pushing a long shirt over her head and some socks on her feet. These were things she'd sneaked into Jan and Armand's room for specifically. She felt a bit more comfortable like this. Her eyes wandered to the now properly bandaged leg, feeling at the bandages blindly. Why was she so reckless?

Wandering down the hall and out to the intersection of hallways, she could spot a clear pane, looking out it to see the lush greenery of her home, Shangri-la. Her heart skipped and all time stood still. This was it. She had to do it, and clear her head of all these thoughts....She couldn't be here otherwise. Uninterested in changing back, she rushed back to the room and clicked her tongue against the roof of her mouth. Mei-Mei sprung up from the shelf and scurried up her leg without another sound.

That was when she escaped for the second time.

Dawn broke as the crew members of the Flawless Victory began their more so tedious day. It was all a waiting game until they were given proper instruction, and so most of the crew members had crawled out from their steel prison to breathe some fresh air and take to some of the local delicacies. Captain Steele sat in his chair as per usual, folding his arms over his lap. Pressing a button upon his panel, he paged Jan, hoping to get the sleepyhead roused from slumber. An exhausted voice grumbled from the other side of the line, and Captain Steele couldn't help but laugh. It was hard to believe this kid was Japan's Fighter.

"Jan. Steele here. Are you awake?"

"Huhwhano--- wait, what's up?"

"Just letting you know, we've arrived in China and are awaiting further instructions."

"....you woke me up for that? Seriously?"

"Sadly, yes. Oh, and Bei's missing...again."

"....FUCK."

And so, yet again Jan Ishikawa was sent running, trying to find someone who liked disappearing.

Bare toes slipped between and over dew-laced blades of grass as the soft morning breeze blew them, and her long shirt, about in it's wake. A bit of blood dotted the center of her bandages due to her injury from the previous afternoon. She was pretty numbed, knowing physical pain all too well after all she'd been through with her father. Step by step she was approaching what was a tiny shadow of a building all too familiar. This wasn't the temple of her employment and previous living, but rather, the start of it all. She could see the tile walkway being scrubbed by many a' monk dressed in burnt orange robes, on hand and knee to clean the tiles diligently. Trying to keep herself inconspicuous for the time being, she weaseled towards the right side of the temple, her attention slowly turning to the creature nuzzling against her cheek. The red panda, Mei Mei was semi-unaware of the situation that was before Bei Lie Nu. She had run from home, abandoned her father, and made no communication with him. Let alone the fact he'd been trying to find her all this time.

And look how she was dressed. A bit flustered for a moment, she pushed at her shirt, urging it to magically become longer if at all possible. To no avail. She cursed the slenderness of those boys before moving on, pulling her slightly wounded self up the half-broken steps at the back of the temple, of which she'd known of since her child. Xiang still didn't fix them, had he...? Sneaking into the building beside the stairs, she searched for the drawer which contained extra monk robes. If she could at least find some pants...

It took Jan a while to make the trek to Yunnan province in God Gundam, but nonetheless it was done. The sights that greeted him were reminiscent of the more ancient roots of China, the farming towns and the state of dress, even the buildings. It all bespoke the ancient culture that rested in front of him. There was no doubt in his mind that this was Bei's home, that she was somewhere across this wide span of land. Why? Because she'd lived here all her life. Specifically, at the temple... which he didn't know how to get to from where he was. He'd have to ask one of the locals somehow. His destination, Shangri-La, wasn't all that far away - but the language barrier needed to be crossed first, again.

And how he hated this particular barrier - it had landed him in trouble more than once. Jan wasn't looking forward to doing this.

A few chinese peddlers lined the streets of the nearly ancient farming town. They stared at the oddly dressed male, Jan Ishikawa, but went about their business despite him. Chickens danced around the silhouette of the armed male, unaware of the danger he could pose to their existence. Good thing Jan didn't particularly hate chickens.

Bei's fingers clasped a pair of loose pants from the nearly emptied drawer, slipping them on despite being nearly unable to see. She had bumped her elbow into the corner of the drawer in her attempt, but that sort of pain didn't matter much, if at all. Pushing her shoulder against what she thought was the doorway in front of her face, she stumbled out into the sunlight once more, squinting her eyes as they'd adjusted. Though, she landed herself in quite the predicament. The monks stared at her in turn, some a bit apathetic, others completely shocked.

"....Uh oh."

Was all she could utter, before the monks had her surrounded. A towering, yet slender figure approached from inside of the main hall's depths. As the steps got louder, Bei could do not but lower her head and place her left hand over her balled right; A greeting to the person she'd not seen in years. Xiang Nu.

The man himself wasn't much old looking at all, as you'd expect from some sort of monk. In fact, he was quite the opposite. Fine lines textured his youthful face, but amber colored eyes peeked out from between his lids. A head of raven-colored hair, obviously un-kept and unshaven, bushed out from his skull. It was pretty even though, brushing up right above his thin eyebrows, and only being so long as to barely touch the scruff of his neck. The brows furrowed as he started to recognize the silhouette. His own daughter dared to show her face after leaving him, leaving his legacy.

"You obviously have alot of explaining to do, Bei Lie Nu."

This wasn't the first time he'd had to do this. In fact, Jan had felt exactly the same as he had last time, struggling to communicate with the people around him. But the common person didn't speak with their fists the way the monks had. No, he had to resort to sign language, and even then it was strained a best - but signing the character for mountain worked. That, funnily enough, was one of Bei's techniques. Irony upon ironies that he was the one using it here and now.

Ugh. She was so dead... when he found her.
