Welcome to OMGpads. It's easy to feel isolated when you're being ripped off from a student accommodation provider (especially at the stage in your life you're trying to prove your independence!).
Some student accommodation companies take advantage of this by taking your money and not providing the service you deserve. You may know people, or yourself been subjected to:

- Unfair damage charges for things like furniture (which are often not even replaced with the charge you pay).
- Being ignored for callouts, such as reporting faulty equipment and nobody coming out for weeks of even months.
- Deposits taken away with no explanation as to why.
- Cold and/or damp rooms, again with no means of effort to improve them.
- Rats or other infestations that some accommodations charge YOU for them to be rid of (sometimes charging you regardless of effectiveness).
- Terrible communication, with lack of response, and more frustratingly, them not remembering your previous complaints that still haven't been dealt with.

These common issues, and many others, are why OMGpads has been created; to give you the voice to warn others of your experiences. It also helps you avoid making the same mistakes again. However, this won't work unless you invite your friends to join (especially any you know have had bad experience with student accommodation before!)
