Hi there! Welcome to Natura. We trust you'll enjoy your stay.

Simply put, Natura is a player-driven roleplay with very few restrictions - especially during this opening phase as we build the world of Natura with the help of you, the players. Here at Natura we try to make the only limit your imagination. The role of the board's staff is to provide you with the basis of the world to interact with. The stars of the show are you, the roleplayers.

For now, we're obeying a couple of simple common courtesy rules:

1) Trolling, flaming and generally a bad sport and/or unfriendly to people is bad. To quote nerd royalty Wil Wheaton, Don't Be A Dick. If you don't want it done or said to you, don't do it to others. The two founders of the site made this place to get away from toxic people. So, let's keep it nice and friendly.

2) Every character should have a profile. If you intend to write them, we need a point of reference. We'll discuss the limitations on characters elsewhere.

3) Meta-gaming (the act of using out-of-character knowledge in-character) and god-moding (playing your character stronger than they are, writing other characters as your own and forcing them to do unsavoury things, having things they shouldn't have, and generally constantly dodging/ignoring attacks) is expressly forbidden. You may be immortal (yes, it happens here). But you're at least going to get hit.

3b) We really don't care what you do in a planned roleplay. If two friends have a plotted adventure, they can do whatever they like as long as it doesn't negatively affect other people's roleplaying. So, as long as something is planned, we really don't care if you do have the invincible villain. Just don't inflict it on others without their permission!

Natura was created for the sole purpose of friends coming together and writing to their hearts content. That's it. That's why we specifically omitted any competition aspect; we've found that unfortunately some people take it too seriously, it creates bad feelings, and entire sites can be destroyed because of it. It's also for this reason that Natura is not intended to be a large site. It's supposed to stay small and intimate. If it gets big, great! The intent of the site is for it to really be by invitation only. If someone randomly happens to find it and wants to join, then we're not going to turn them away, but I would rather it be a network of friends. So, please! If you have friends that are interested in Pokemon and adventures, invite them over! We are always willing to meet new people.

We're also employing a roleplay style that some of you may be familiar with, and some of you may not. You do not need to be 'modded' here. Anyone who's familiar with a competitive game style roleplay is familiar with this: The player posts, then waits for a moderator to come along and say what happens. This is not a thing here. You and a group of your friends write your own story with your own characters and make your own adventure. Or, you can even write a stand alone piece if you'd like! However, if someone really wants an adventure controlled by other people, then you guys can certainly do that too!

There's also no specific post length or literacy requirement. I mean, you need to know how to write... but you don't have to write Game of Thrones or anything. I know this isn't a big deal to some people, but I wanted to ease any fears about it right off the bat.

Basically, the sky is the limit here. Do what makes you happy, be excellent to each other, and make a good story!
