Characters and Pokémon

In general, here at Natura we are extremely open to the kinds of characters you wish to play. In keeping with our few restrictions theme, we only have a few rules when it comes to creating and maintaining your characters.

1) For your characters, we allow the following: Superpowers, Pokémorphs, magic, aliens, characters from alternate universes... you get the idea. If you'd like, you can even just be a Pokémon. Essentially, anything goes. However, if you're going to do something crazy, please note it in your character profile.

2) You may have as many characters as you like.

3) All characters must have a profile. This can be one long post for all of your characters, a separate thread for each - whatever you want to do. This must be placed in the Trainer Database.

4) We do not require regulation of Pokémon levels and movesets. The only requirement is that you list your available Pokémon in your profile; you may optionally list their movepools and a level, if you would like people to have an idea as to the relative strength of your Pokémon. Really, this rule is so that when you reference a Pokémon by name, someone can go look and see who you're talking about.

5) Items are not required to be listed. They're plot devices; use them logically and within reason at your own need.

As you can see, we're not very 'game mechanics' about the whole thing. Just be reasonable, respect our fellow roleplayers, don't ridiculously powerplay (pulling out a million rare candies from hammerspace) and you should be okay.

If you are transferring a character from another setting, great! Please provide a link to the character for the staff to have a quick glance at and you can transfer all your stuff over for free, including legendaries and what have you. We don't have a problem with that whatsoever.

Pokémon

As previously stated, you don't need to list levels and movesets at all for Pokémon! However, for those of us who like to keep these things listed, here's some things to consider. Pokemon cannot grow above level 100. A Pokémon would know every move in its level up movepool up to their current level. There is no limit on how many Technical Machines a Pokémon may know, and Hidden Machines don't exist on Natura. Any Pokémon that's large enough to carry a person may do so, whether it's through the land, sea, or air.

For capturing a Pokémon, that's all up to the roleplayer themselves. Make it as easy or as difficult as you like. Just don't easily capture a flock of hydreigon and descend upon a city to wreck havoc. Again, don't be a jerk.

Starting Out In Natura

No matter where you come from (if you're a Naturan, from another world, whatever), everyone will have access to the same basic starting kit from Professor Hawthorn's laboratory. She provides all new trainers over the age of eighteen with five Poké Balls for catching new Pokémon, a Pokédex, a PokéBrace (a wrist-mounted device that serves as your smartphone plus tablet all in one) and a starter Pokémon that may be from any of the six generations' fire, water or grass starters. She will also hand out a backpack and a Secret Base Node, which lets you place down a secret base and have a place to stay on the road, courtesy of AgrariTech.

You don't have to take any of these things, though! You could also start roleplaying with a character who's already been out in the world for a while. Maybe their starter has evolved? Maybe they've caught more pokemon? There's no limit on what kind of character you can start with, if you have ideas or want to do something specific.
