"Alex! Run!"

"Where? This thing is going to blow any second, we're out of time!"

"Alex!"

----

Kalen rubbed her eyes. It was too early for these sorts of dreams. Generally, when she dreamed about boys, it didn't involve my dialogue. She ran a hand through her blonde hair and fumbled around in the dark for her glasses. It must've been 6 AM. It was still dark in her apartment. She sat up in her bed, and stretched, letting out a yawn as her eyes adjusted to the lack of light. Within an instant, however, she was blinded. An explosion of white light erupted all around her filling her apartment. She shielded her eyes with a pillow, a surprised yelp escaping from her lips. Almost immediately, the light died with a soft thump, then a loud metallic bang, followed by a vary humanoid groan and a swear. She crept up, pulling her thin nightdress tightly around her, and snatching up a lamp from her bed table. Someone had failed getting into her laundry room and she was going to make him pay for it. Though that didn't explain what felt like a flash grenade, however.

Alex rubbed his head, groaning, laying against a washing machine. It had all happened so quickly. His eyes squeezed shut, then open again. He was in a laundry room? Where in the world had he ended up? and how did he even get there? It made no sense. One minute he was battling with the Legend Hunters underground, the next he was in what looked like an apartment. Ruby! His hand flew to his felt, and he heard an ached creak. His shoulder was popped out of it's socket. He ignored it for a moment, feeling the cool capsule of the pokeball at his belt. Ruby was with him. Good. He had about half a second to look up when he shouted in pain and a sharp blow cracked him across the skull.

"OW! What in the hell? Who? Quit that, that hurts!" He managed to stammer.

"Shut up you thief!"

"I'm not a thief, I swear! I don't even know where I am!" The beating ceased and he looked up, his eyes finally focused through the dull throbbing in his head. It was a woman. She was younger than he, barely 18, but extremely well developed. In fact that was confusing, because he didn't think he'd ever seen a human being quite like her before. She was medium height, a slim, yet healthy frame, and short blonde hair. Unfortunately for him, her curves were accentuated with how little she wore. Indeed, it looked like she'd either just gotten up from rest, or was about to retire. "Sheesh, lady...The hells did you get an arm like that from?" He asked, just shaking his throbbing head.

Kalen blinked down at him. "So you're not a thief or burglar. Then why are you in my house?" She brandished the lamp threateningly. "This is your house?" The man held up both of his arms in surrender. "I'm sorry! I didn't have any control over what happened...I'm not even sure what happened, for that matter...Can you uh...tell me where I am?" He seemed sincere, and extremely confused. "My apartment. 1221 Sapphire street, third floor. Who the fuck are you?"

"Alexander...Cruz..." Alex tried to smile, then coughed, wiping blood from his mouth. Apparently that stunt he'd pulled back at the prison had backfired just a little. "Alexander?" "Just call me Alex. And you?"

"Kalen. Kalen Black." She answered curtly, not trusting him, very aware of his stares. "And you have no idea how you ended up in my laundry room?"

At this, Alex shook his head, then winced. "Flash of light, this keystone glowed. Big Mega Stone started glowing too, then I blacked out."

"Keystone...Mega Stone?"

"Never heard of them? You have Pokemon right?"

"I don't, no."

Alex looked bewildered. "Aren't you old enough?" The woman nodded. "I am now, just turned 18 today." The older man looked confused still. "The legal age to train Pokemon is 11." Now it was Kalen's turn to look confused. "Uh...No? Why would you give an 11 year old that kind of responsibility? You nuts?"

Alex had to admit she had a point. But if that was the case, then where was he? "Sapphire Street? What city?"

"Natura Central." And there it was. He wasn't in Opeddeka anymore. It was just like when he'd left the Legacy region the first time, though this didn't seem to involve Celebi.

"Na...tura...Oh...fuck." He tried to stand, winced then fell back, panting. "So, this is going to sound crazy, but I'm not from here. I'm from another...world? Thing?"

Kalen didn't look surprised. Indeed, legends of Celebi travelling through time, as well as Palkia and Dialga rending dimensions and space were not at all unheard of. "Well, welcome to Natura, I guess. You okay? You looked pretty bad off." This was an understatement. Alex's clothes, which were already worn from years of continued use, were ragged and frayed beyond repair. His long blue coat was ripped in several places, the lower half of it torn off entirely. The only thing that seemed to be in one piece was a dark blue cloth that seemed to function as a scarf of mask.

"I'll live. I think. I just need to get off this floor."

Kalen cracked a ghost of a smiled and allowed use of her arm, helping him to her bed and allowing him to sit.

((So, this is entirely open, if anyone's feeling bored. Feel free to knock on the apartment door, or wait until something exciting happens and jump in :D))

Whereas a certain individual had only recently woke up with a rather disturbing flash of light, Malcom had been up for about two hours already. For some reason, today was a particularly popular day for some folks in terms of visiting Hawthorn's lab: Three birthdays, two anniversaries, and five other scheduled appointments. He already completed one appointment already, but since he was the one that drew the short straw, he was the one that had to be in to help out at such an awful hour of the morning. Still, he supposed seeing so many smiling faces made it worth it. Kind of.

He began to dial a phone number, constantly looking up at the piece of paper in front of him as he dialed it in. Once completed, the number changed into a name: "Kalen Black." He then pushed the green button, signalling the device on his arm to call Ms. Black to remind her about her appointment later that morning. He hoped he was not disturbing her sleep overmuch--but it was a very important day for her. Today, according to his records, she turned Eighteen, which was the date of legal acquisition and training of Pokemon. Which meant that, yes, it would be her first time at the lab and she would need to be brought up to speed on everything about how to become a successful Pokemon Trainer--including a lecture, instructions, outfitting and gearing, and--the most important part--selecting her first Pokemon Companion. The nursery was already rousing the young Pokemon from their own slumber, getting them ready for the new trainers to walk in and pick one that they connected with the most. All in all, a very, very exciting day for a brand new trainer, but for Malcom, it was a day of saying the exact same things he had said last week, the exact same routine, the exact same procedure--the first few times one did this, it was quite exciting for themselves. But now it was turning into routine, one that got in the way of his own Pokemon research. He did not fault those that came in to start their own epic journey; he just wished it was not such an involved process.

"Hello, Miss Kalen Black?" He said once the line picked up on the other side.

A panel on the wall buzzed, blinking a soft green, over and over. Kalen was mid sentence when she jumped, started, holding up a hand to Alex to be silent. "Hello? This is Kalen."

Alex blinked at her, then leaned back against her bed, feeling his muscles ache and stretch. He glanced out the open window at the metropolis sprawling below them. The level of technology here was far past Opeddeka. His own land paled in comparison. He cracked his shoulder back into place with a sickening crunch, causing Kalen, who was still standing near her communication device on the wall, to glance at him with a sharp "Shut the fuck up" look.

"Oh that's right! That is today!" Her expression brightened. "Of course! I'll be right over, for sure. Should only be a few minutes, I don't live far. Thank you too." With a beep she cut the line and glared at Alex. "Okay so, I'm going to Professor Hawkthorne's lab. I'm sure you're familiar with the procedure. What I'm not going to do, however, is leave you in my apartment alone. You're coming with me."

Alex sighed. "Fine, fine." "Good." She added shortly, before disappearing into a closet and coming back fully dressed. Alex had to admit she had a sense of style about her. She had adored a rather low cut pink top, covering most of it with a black leather jacket. Her jeans were simple, and she covered her feet with sneakers. She adjusted her glasses. "Alright. You're going to look like a homeless guy, but whatever..." She grinned at him. "C'mon, I'm in a hurry!"

Alex had to agree, it was an exciting event. He still remembered his own journey's beginning. She hadn't been kidding, it wasn't a long walk, maybe a block away. He gazed at the various buildings, people and Pokemon. Some he recognized, but most he didn't. Kalen just about skipped ahead of him. The building was large and clearly adorned as a laboratory.

"So Hawthorne is the lead professor here?" Kalen nodded to him. "I see, got any idea who you're going to choose?" At this, Kalen just winked and motioned him to follow her into the building. "Excuse me! I'm Kalen Black! I'm here to see Professor Hawthorne!"

"Yes, Miss Black, my name is Malcom Tian, one of Hawthorn's aides. I'm calling to remind you of our appointment today at the laboratory, since you are now of age to acquire and begin training your very own Pokemon!"

"Oh that's right! That is today!" She said on the other end of the line. She seemed to be quite excited at the prospect, which forced a smile upon Malcom's face, despite the fact that he could not see hers. "Of course! I'll be right over, for sure. Should only be a few minutes, I don't live far."

"Very well, Miss Black. See you soo--" he said, getting cut off by the sound of his phone emanating that long, deep tone that signified that the call had been ended. He chuckled a little as he turned the phone off on his own PokeBrace. "That was quick. I wonder just how fast she'll get here..." he mused to himself for a moment before he gathered up his papers and went to the equipment room, mostly to double-check that her allotment of starter equipment was ready.

Soon enough, there was a commotion at the front desk, a rather unassuming woman at the desk looking up at Kalen from behind a pair of small spectacles. "Kalen Black? Yes, they're expecting you inside," the woman said, pointing past the door to the left--which happened to open just now.

Opening the door was a rather lanky individual. Black hair seemed to sprout from his head like wild grass, spreading out in seemingly every direction--either from being unkept or just impossible to groom. A set of thin-frame glasses adorned his head, which he seemed to adjust at constant, and a modest pair of kakhis and a button up shirt adorned his body. Add in the hideous purple tie, the lab coat, and a pair of non-slip black shoes, and the guy before Alex and Kalen was the definition of a typical aide. He held a file under one arm and a cup of coffee in the opposite hand.

"Ah, Miss Black! You're right on time. Please, come in, come in--bring your friend too! This is a momentous occasion," he said with an honest--if tired-looking--smile on his face. He led the pair into the main Atrium of the Laboratory, a huge and open room, the walls lined with various divisions and computers. He led the pair to his personal desk--which happened to be in the furthest corner of the Atrium--and invited them to sit down.

"You must be excited. Today marks a very important occasion for all youths in Natura City--the day you can begin your own adventure in our world. You're probably eager to get started, so let's not waste time, eh?" He said, bringing out an item from a bin beside them marked 'Miss Kalen Black' with today's date written upon it. "As a beginner trainer, you will need three very important pieces of equipment--the first, is this," he said, handing her a device about the size of a small book, the device sporting a fold-out panel and a large series of keys and a back-mounted camera. "This is known as a Pokedex. You may have seen it before--not only does it catalog and explain each Pokemon you can encounter, but it will also gather scientific data on Pokemon you have seen or captured. It is an invaluable tool for those that wish to go out, travel, and adventure--but it will also transmit information to us here based on your findings. While we support you in your endeavors out in the world, you will also be providing us with critical information about the world we live in--a very symbiotic relationship, wouldn't you say?"

Kalen's eyes were wide with excitement behind her glasses and she nodded. "Of course. The research and development of pokemon-based equipment, as well as the study of habitats, ecology..." She rattled off, ticking them off on her fingers as she ranted excitedly about the scientific relationship between Trainer and researcher. Alex had to admit, he was impressed. So she was a really hot 18 year-old nerd. That was a rare combination. He shook his head and ran a finger down the single, solitary pokeball on his belt.

"He's here. He's definitely here. Do we move forward with the plan?"

"We don't have a choice. We need to gauge his battle strength compared to ours, and make appropriate adjustments."

"Very well."

As Kalen spoke to Malcom, one of the glass windows above them shattered, raining debris and glass down on the unfortunate labworkers. A Figure, clad in black and dark blue burst through the newly created hole, and pointed a finger at the Professor's aide. "Sorry to interrupt, Mister Tian, you've got something of ours, and we would appreciate it, if you returned it to us!" The figure, was obviously male, medium height and build, completely covered in dark clothing, with only his piercing hazel eyes visible, along with a badge with tiny silver lettering. 'LH'.

Alex recognized the lettering in an instant, and without hesitation, that single, solitary pokeball was in his hand. "Are you serious? How did you guys even get here?" He realized as soon as he'd opened his mouth, that it was a stupid question.

"You guys might want to get out of the way..." Alex cautioned to both Kalen and Malcom.

Malcom was about to continue on with the discussion, the explanation of other pieces of equipment she would be receiving, that is, until the window above them shattered, forcing him to cover his head with one hand and knee towards the ground, surprised and shocked by the sudden rupture of the glass above. When he looked up, he was surprised to see a cloaked figure in black, who seemingly came in through the broken window.

Kalen's friend stepped forward, apparently knowledgeable on who this newcomer was--not to mention, he seemed to be prepared to confront the individual. "Here, take this!" Malcom said, tossing Kalen a Pokeball from the box with her name upon it. He had made a preliminary selection of starter Pokemon based on her personality and file, but it was not a permanent selection--she could certainly change it throughout the day, of course. But for now, having a Pokemon to protect her was better than nothing at all!

"There's a button on the front! Press it to release the Pokemon so it can protect you!" Malcom said, standing up and standing his ground despite his nerdy appearance. He raised a pair of fingers to his mouth and let out a whistling sound, and from above, a pair of Bird Pokemon descended and landed upon his shoulder: A Pidgey and a Pidove. These were likely his Pokemon that he had at the moment for his own protection.

"This is the only time I ask, sir!" Malcom said, pointing a finger at the cloaked man. "Vacate the premises immediately! You're not invited here!"

The man eyed Malcom and smiled. Looks like it was working, as Alex had stepped forward. "Out of my way, kid. You have no idea what we want here. We're not after you, for once..." This was a lie, the intruder knew that. But Alex did not.

Alex had to stifle a smile at the Pidgey and the Pidove. He was pleased that even here, Professor's aides were not strangers to battle. "Leave it to me." He offered, his finger carassing the release button on the pokeball in his hand.

Kalen caught the pokeball, squeezing it to her chest before opening as instructed. The Pokemon that appeared made her eyes light up with glee. It was small and blue, a large fin on it's head and fin like structures on it's cheeks. She recognized it as a Mudkip.

The intruder sighed. His bait had only half worked, apparently he'd have to fight all of them to get to Alex. So be it. With a flash, he released his own pokemon, a shaggy, canine, clad in black fur. A Mightyena. Before he could issue a command, his target stepped forward.

"You fuckers need to get back to where you came from." Alex said in barely above a whisper, hurtling the pokeball he had been holding. It opened, a large, lizardlike pokemon materializing in front of Mightyena. Kalen would recognize it as a Charizard. This Charizard, however, looked different. It's scales were a shining ruby-red, instead of orange and it wore a black necklace, with a fiery orange stone set in the center. "It's showtime, Ruby." Alex said, patting his partner on the wingtip. "Mega-Evolve!" He tapped his wrist, and Kalen could see a similar bracelet on the man's arm, a stone set into the center of that, as well. The Charizard, called Ruby was engulfed in pink light, which swirled and crackled like electricity around the pokemon, before erupting outward and revealing Ruby's altered appearance. It's body was still a shining red, but it's horns had given way to one longer horn, arching backwards. It's forelimbs had sprouted membranes and it's wingspan had increased. The flame on it's tail burned white-hot.

"Mega Charizard Y!" Alex nodded at Ruby. "These guys are bad news. They steal Pokemon, and Pokemon related technology, so watch it." Alex called to Malcom.

"A mega evolution!?" Malcom said aloud, startled by the apparent evolution of the Charizard named 'Ruby'. "Amazing--I've only seen it on videos before, but to see it in real life--" He said, cutting himself off as he took a step back. This was no time to gloss over the scientific results here; a serious battle was about to take place, and it looked like Malcom and Kalen were very much out of their league. But what choice did they have?

"Miss Black, we should probably let your friend handle this--but keep your Pokemon close!" He said, stepping around the fight about to take place and looking behind him at the fire exit. Those other aides that had been at the lab already were fleeing out of it, leaving the place a lot more empty than previous--which was good. The more people were here, the more chances of someone getting hurt.

"Wait, they steal Pokemon and tech?" Malcom said, incredulous. "Distasteful... we can't just leave you alone against something like that! What if he tries to steal yours?" Malcom protested, his bird Pokemon preparing to enter the fray. He then turned towards Kalen.

"Pokemon battles like this are where trainers pit their Pokemon against one another. Whoever comes out on top is the victor. They can also be used to settle disputes like this," he said, looking back over at fight unfolding before them. "Each Pokemon has different strengths and weaknesses--in order to win, you have to be aware of them!"

Kalen nodded, frozen. She had expected Alex to be some sort of bum, a low life. But here he was, in a partnership with a powerful, noble and regal pokemon. She had to admit, Ruby was absolutely beautiful, especially in his Mega-Evolved state. She clutched the little Mudkip to her chest, almost cuddling it. Pokemon thieves weren't uncommon, she knew that, but to encounter one so quickly?

Ruby roared and flapped his wings. "Try not to smash everything, big guy. Subdue Mightyena as best you can. Flamethrower!" Alex's quiet demeanor changed as he gave his order. He stood tall, comfortable, as if he'd battled many, many times. Ruby open his jaws and released a narrow torrent of flame, which Mightyena narrowly avoided.

"Crunch!" the intruder countered.

"Wing Attack, let's go!" Alex ordered.

Mightyena's fangs extended as it lunged for Charizard, who met it's charge with one of it's massive outstretched wings. Mightyena yelped and sprawled backwards.

"Ruby, Dragon Rage." The man commanded. Ruby's maw began to glow with blue energy and with a howling snarl, released a burst of power, striking the savage Pokemon in the side. Another yelp, and Mightyena lay defeated.

"Tch. That wasn't even a challenge." Alex called to the intruder. The black-clad man seemed unperturbed, recalling his unconscious pokemon with a shrug. "We're not done here. We'll be back." Without another word, he leapt high into the air, clearing the broken window, and was out. Shouts and cries could be heard as he made his escape down the street and into an alley.

Alex swore, then turned to Malcom. "Sorry about that. I tried not to trash your workplace..." He sighed, then glanced at the still staring Kalen, then returned his gaze to Malcom. "You're a Pokemon researcher, what do you know about Mega Evolution?"

Ruby's transformation shimmered as it wore off.

"Th--that was amazing! I've never seen a Charizard move so quickly--!" Malcom said, unable to suppress his relief and joy at seeing Kalen's friend succeed in warding off the intruder. He walked closer towards the man, waving for Kalen to join them.

"Mega Evolutions? They're rather unknown for us at the moment--we know they're some sort of transformation that unlocks the hidden potential and strengths of a Pokemon. It's theorized that only the strongest of Pokemon have Mega Evolutions, but there are those that argue that there could be a stone for virtually every type of Pokemon in existence--they just have to be found. On the scientific level, the closest we've come is the hypothesis that a properly tuned stone will unlock a Pokemon's hidden Chromosome--" Malcom started going off on a scientific tangent, likely going into some very obscure fields of science, a lot of which he likely did not fully grasp himself. After a few more moments, he paused to actually breathe--he hadn't realized he had been holding it this whole time.

"I'm thankful you were able to secure the lab again. I'm sure things will be back to normal here soon..." He said, looking rather regretful at Kalen's big day being interrupted like that. "We can continue with the lecture if you'd like, miss, but I'll understand if you wish to reschedule with..." at that moment, a look of surprise came over his face and he looked over at the gentleman.

"Say, I never caught your name."

Alex nodded, actually comprehending some of what Malcom said."I see. I'm uh..Alex. Alex Cruz I am...or was a Pokemon Breeder. You see I'm...not from around here. And a Mega Stone is reason I ended up in...Natura, is it?" He glanced at Kalen, who nodded.

"I was hoping you could shed some light on it for me. I'm from...I guess what could be akin to another world? It's called Opedekka. Big place, not as big as this though, this is enormous." He motioned towards the surrounding building. "I know it sounds crazy. It is kind of crazy. That guy was part of a gang that apparently chased me all the way here. I was at their base, they had this giant Mega Stone, they thought they could force all of the Pokemon under their control to Mega Evolve with it. Well it backfired, went haywire and the next thing I know, I woke up in her apartment." He finished with a shrug, giving Ruby a scratch on the wing.

"Opedekka...?" Malcom asked, shamelessly butchering the pronunciation of the word. "I'm afraid I've never heard of that world before, but we have had reports of individuals hailing from planets and worlds different from our own," he said before offering the pair a seat again at his desk--which he had to flip back right-side up after Ruby's rather strong wing atack--before sitting down himself.

"See, it is theorized--not confirmed--that the world of Natura acts as a 'nexus' world for others within our dimensional 'district' if you will. What affects Natura can affect other worlds connected to it--kind of like a bridge, if that makes any sense. Anyway, we've been getting more and more reports of people ending up in our world lately, and some of them do relate to the Mega Evolution stones. Needless to say, this new information has quite a few existing theories on Mega Evolutions in flux," he said before looking back over at Kalen.

"My apologies, where were we before this whole madness began?"

Kalen had been just staring, first at Alex, then at Ruby, then back at Alex. Now she was currently fixated on the Charizard again. She jumped as Malcom addressed her, realizing she was still holding that Mudkip. "Er, what? Oh! Yeah. Pokemon related things..." She said, in a spacy voice, shaking her head slowly then focused on the aide.

Alex nodded, quietly. "I wouldn't mind it, if you found anything else out, if you'd inform me. Maybe I can figure out how to get back home or something." He added.

Kalen held up Mudkip. "Can I keep him?" She asked, smiling at the little blue fish she had seemed to have taken a liking to.

Malcom chuckled a little, looking upon the young woman with the Mudkip in her arms. "Of course you can! You can even give him a nickname," he said, nodding to Kalen before looking back towards Malcom.

"Rest assured, our research is progressing on looking into the Mega Evolution stones, but unfortunately, what few pieces we have is making our progress slow and painstaking. Still, I have no doubt we'll make a breakthrough eventually," he said, keeping the time window of 'eventually' quite vague on purpose--he really had no idea how long it would take to figure out this particular mystery.

He then snapped his fingers, reached into the box beside him, and retrieved another device. "This, Miss Kalen, is called a PokeBrace. You can strap it to your arm like I have here," he said, showering her his own PokeBrace underneath his sleeve. "It will function as a personal, miniature computer as well as a communication device so you can speak to your friends, loved ones, and contacts from virtually anywhere on Natura. This device is also what actually does the information transmission from you PokeDex. The PokeDex collects the information, sends it to the PokeBrace, and then the PokeBrace sends it to us at earliest convenience--typically, whenever you enter a building such as a Pokemon Center, where the signal is strongest," he said before handing it over to her.

"Finally, we have this," he said, retrieving something about the size of a vehicle steering wheel. "This is a Home Base Module. It will allow you to create your own pocket dimension for hide outs and a place to rest while travelling, as well as storage space. It makes having to find a campsite much easier," he said, handing it over to her. "Its power is limited, however, so you won't be able to use it constantly--it's only really designed for one person in mind, and not for overly long periods. So please keep that in mind."

Alex gave a slight sigh and nodded. Kalen on the other hand, taps the Mudkip on the head and said. "Cyan." Her newest partner squeaked it's approval. She accepted the PokeBrace and Pokedex, stowing them both into a pouch on her waist. "Okay! So. All of this stuff is automatic, that's kind of nice." She hefted the Home Base Module, then handed it to Alex without a second thought, who huffed and rolled his eyes.

"Thanks Mister Malcom, I really appreciate this." She cuddled Cyan again. Alex chuckled and smiled. "Yeah, sorry about your lab." He scratched the back of his head. "Malcom Tian right? I'm sure I'll hear from you and your lab again. I'm hoping you guys are my ticket home."

"Not a problem, for both of you," Malcom said before nodding. He then reached into the box one last time and retrieved the last item from within. "Last, but not least, there's this--a backpack to help carry everything you've just acquired, if needed. Inside are five Pokeballs--devices to help you catch more Pokemon. Most trainers only carry four to six Pokemon with them at all times, while the rest of their friends are either stored digitally at this facility's storage system--alternately, you can keep them at home for safe keeping as well," he explained.

"Being a Pokemon trainer, your life will be met with rather unexpected surprises and challenges--it is through your bond with Pokemon that you can overcome them and explore the world for the richness within it. Each major city has a Pokemon Center and a shopping center to outfit yourself with new gear and supplies for your journey. Remember, an ounce of preparation is worth a pound of cure, so don't try to be too hasty," he prattled on for a moment before shaking his head. "Ah, but you seem like a pretty smart girl--you probably know all about that. We have a workshop just down the hall that can explain the greater intricacies of caring for Pokemon, survival skills, and not least of all, Pokemon battling. The world is full of wild and dangerous Pokemon out there, so refining your battling skills can be quite crucial to your very survival. A lot of people use Pokemon to help with chores, tasks, and defense, but never forget that they're also your best friends--cherish them with all of your being," he said before nodding once more and standing up to offer them both a handshake. "Any other questions?" He asked, adjusting his glasses with his other hand.

Kalen shook her head. "No, thank you. I appreciate everything you've done. I'm sure we'll be back to visit. And I'm sure Alex here has a lot to teach me."

"We...?" Alex trailed off. "Uh. I was uh..going to stay here. I've got to get back to my own world."

Kalen gave him a look. "Nope. You're coming with me. You attract trouble like a magnet, I can already tell, and I'm not leaving you with Mister Tian. You'll cause no end of grief."

Alex sighed. "You've got to be joking. Look kid, Pokemon journey's are extravagant. You don't need me slowing you down."

Kalen insisted. "You broke into my house, nearly cracked my washing machine, just about ruined my birthday and are now planning on ditching me. Good job."

He groaned. "The hell did you learn to talk like that?" He shook his head, dismissing it. "Fine. Just to keep an eye on you. I suppose Ruby will be glad for the company." He glanced at the Charizard who roared, pleased. "Thanks again, Malcom, I appreciate the insight you've given me. I'll get in contact with you if I know more. I used to be a Pokemon Breeder, who knows, maybe I can help you figure out what Mega Evolution is all about."

Malcom smiled warmly. "I'm glad to hear it. If you need assistance, we're here to provide you with it. I wish you two the best of luck," he said before looking over at Malcom, cringing at the tongue lashing he just received.

"The more Breeders we can get to help, the better. Demand for beginner Pokemon is quite high these days, so we need as many helping hands as possible. And don't worry--if there's an answer locked away in Mega Evolutions, I'm confident we'll find it," he said before waving them goodbye.

"Take care out there--and have fun!"
