Natura has long been a pull for many lost interdimensional travelers; some willing and others not so much. Because of this, it has a great mingling of many different cultures and ideas, many of which make no sense in the context of the bare history of the planet. The solstice was a normal thing to celebrate, as it happened to the planet every year, since the beginning of time. At a few points, travelers from other worlds had brought their holidays and traditions, some with many days of celebration, others with only one. They all shared the theme of family and love, and over time the entire month of December became something of a holiday on the planet of Natura. It was something of a different event in the southern hemisphere, but in the north it was a celebration of ice, of family, and of camaraderie. And besides; since when has anyone needed a reason to party? The largest northern-hemisphere celebration happened in Clearmeadow, a sprawling town of large properties and lush flat land. It got cold, but not unbearably cold. It was called the Ice Festival, and the entire town was turned into a winter wonderland for a few weeks around the winter solstice. It naturally snowed at times, but ice sculptors built great castles and other structures of ice, to be admired and even used throughout the event. There was hot food and drink, games and activities, shows and music, everything a large event could possibly have. People and pokemon alike came from all corners of the world to participate, and everyone was welcome here. During the day, the ice sculptures glistened and glittered, and by night the candles and lights made it as bright as day. The town was busy almost constantly through these couple of weeks, whether it be day or night, most people coming and going only for a few days, but some dedicated individuals staying the entire duration. So, there was the invitation. Everyone knew of the festival, and if you didn't, you could be sure that someone would tell you! Howdy folks! I figured it'd be a good/fun idea to have something of a holiday event thread for us. Sometimes it's hard to have our characters meet, so this gives us all a chance to mingle and whatnot. I'm also totally in favor of something significant happening! (Hitura had mentioned in chat about having our 'bad guys' team try to steal some kind of event prize, or something, and I think that'd be fun! But I did not specifically plan anything because I wanted to allow freedom) This may get big and chaotic, but I think if we keep posting order, that it'll be fine. If two people want to go back and fourth, you can make a side thread so the main thread order doesn't get weird! My own characters will be showing up at some point, but I wanted to get the opener up first. |

The grounds of the town was coated with a good dusting of powder, and the outer edges and flat areas that weren't home to the ice sculptures were covered in a thicker layer of snow to play in. At the moment, only a few children were playing as night started to fall, most having run inside for food or hot chocolate. Most of the adults walked past without giving it more then a few seconds' glance, but a traveler stopped to look over what people had built. She wasn't bundled as warmly as everyone else, only in a hooded sweatshirt with the hood up, and a pair of pants and boots, in varying shades of brown and gray. Her face wasn't too terribly easy to see, but she wasn't being crazy about trying to hide it either. Getting a good look, she definitely wasn't human, instead cat like with bright, warm eyes. Her tail waved uncovered behind her, gray-tan with darker stripes. You act like you've never seen a snowman before, an umbreon coiled around her legs, sitting on one of her boots and looking up at her. The voice was soft and mental; the physical air didn't stir at all, but still anyone close by could have heard him. Tsrazura the khajiit looked down at her pokemon after some consideration, "Not a lot of children in the snowier towns, if Tsrazura remembers correctly." There's not any rules saying you have to be a kid to build things out of the snow, the dark type replied, tilting his head. The cat woman shrugged, "People too busy worrying about living?" There are times I'm surprised the word fun exists where you came from. Hey, let's go build something! the umbreon bounded into the deeper snow, past the abomasnow making it snow more heavily in this area. Tsrazura shook her head and followed after. I'll definitely throw my other characters in at some point, but Tsrazura here is the one I want to meet the most people, heh. Edited by Steel Cerberus, Dec 1 2014, 10:52 PM.

Molly took in a deep breath as she walked among the various stalls of the festival. She loved the crisp, chilled smell of ice and snow. Winter was always her favorite time of year. She could thoroughly enjoy it as well thanks to her thick fur and fire element of her breed. The winter festival was the best thing about winter. There were so many people from all over the world, giving the opportunity to try exotic cuisine. She loved the various types of food served at the festival. There was the classic fair food that one could only get during a festive occasion, but there was also the food that you'd possibly only ever get to try once in your life without traveling. She always made it a point to try everything, yet watch her intake since she had a weight class to maintain. One of the best things about the festivals though, was being able to hang out with the other wrestlers without competition, showboating, or hostility. They could all hang out, have fun, talk, and be friends without the pressure of being in the ring against each other. At least until the alcohol came in the picture and barroom brawls and wrestling matches started up. She avoided that bit. But the absolute best thing about the ice festival? The sculptures. They ranged in sizes from tiny trinket sized intricate works of art to towering castles in which events were held inside. The work and detail and time that went into each one was staggering and just fascinating. She stared up at the castle with a smile on her muzzle. This years was definitely a work of art and exquisite beauty. The time at the festival wasn't always fun and games though. This year, the owners of the farm decided to set up a stall. They were selling Gogoat and Mareep wool items. The fleece was carefully bred to be soft and warm, perfect for winter clothing. What better place to sell winter items than a winter festival? Except she wasn't the one selling them... She was the guard dog. With a sigh she made her way back to the stall, her break was over. She would have to miss out on the day's events to play watch dog for the night. Why couldn't they just bring the wares inside like normal people?! Edited by HituraCaprion, Dec 1 2014, 10:58 PM.

Well, the teleport pad back at the laboratory was at least functioning. It left his fur feeling like it was standing on end, every time he touched something causing a spark of static electricity, but here he was all the same--at this festival. He had heard about the renown 'Ice Festival' from some of the other Pokemon that lived with Hitura, remarking upon how much fun it had been the last time they went. Normally, he would not be feeling overly sociable, but Growl decided that, for right now, it would probably do him some good to at least get out of the lab for awhile and walk amongst some other people--what were the chances that he'd be ran out of the festival anyway? It seemed this place was a lot more tolerable of people like... him. Speaking of which, Growl stood upright, his person a blend of humanoid structure and Pokemon fur, looking like an anthropomorphic Growlithe, the result of an experiment gone horribly wrong. Originally, he had been able to switch between a human form and a Pokemon form--which brought him no end of grief, of course--but after the accident, he was stuck in between those forms. He felt like an absolute freak at times, but with his unbuttoned vest and jeans upon his body, he at least felt like a person for the time being. His breath misted a little in front of him as he breathed, smelling the air and all the new, different scents that tried to assault his senses. Already, he could sift out the smells of different foods and flowers, but the hard part was trying to distinguish the different scents of each individual person--hence why he came at this particular hour, so he could get used to the scents of the environment on their own before he had to deal with the billion unique scents of the people attending the event. One scent did get his attention though, being particularly powerful--someone at least human sized. He didn't think anyone would be awake at the moment--wait, no, two, three people were nearby. He took towards the strongest of the scents, letting his nose lead him down the cobblestone path--that was obviously covered in snow. He closed his eyes in order to focus more on his nose, letting it lead him along as he drew closer and closer towards the source of the scent and-- Bop. He rubbed his nose a little, unwittingly bumping into someone as he tried to follow the scent--which was quite strong now. "W--whoops." =============== "Fine night." "Of course it is. It is the Ice Festival--they always bring out the more luxurious pieces of eye candy." "So when does this all go down?" "Soon, soon, be patient. We would not want our quarry to know of our presence yet." Near the whole festivities--or at least, what ones were present at this hour--a set of five figures loomed from their vantage point on a tall hill, their forms obscured by the foliage they were resting behind, their dark uniforms blending in with the environment and aging night. Their clothes were plain, save for a 'V' upon their shoulders, encompassing a small rose symbol within it. Each of them wore dark hats to shroud their gender and form, but they all seemed to be turned towards their leader. His hair ran down to below his shoulders, tickling his shoulder blades, his heavily-tanned skin almost making his skin seem like an extension of his dark clothing, but his ice-blue eyes seemed to pierce through the dark like magic. A confident smirk was on his face as he looked over at the area set aside for the festival, as if toying around with how to set a mouse within such a maze. "Trust me--we'll move soon." |

Tempest didn't travel this far north, or in general, terribly often. New places had new people and new disasters, and she was quite content with the life she was leading now in nice, familiar Ironwald. Still, there were only so many times that the other people in town could hype up the famous Ice Festival before she just had to give it a look, just the once. The fact that her new, strange friend had perked up slightly at the idea of a winter festival had made her decide that this year would be the year, and so they'd left the Iron Archipelago behind and headed for Clearmeadow. Said friend wasn't here at the moment, instead fetching warm food and drinks for them--she'd insisted on being the one to fetch them, too, so that Tempest could get a head start on enjoying herself--which left her alone with Firestorm as she wove her way through the ice sculptures. Tempest was in her absol form, for no other reason that it'd felt like an 'absol' day. There was a black scarf around her neck and Firestorm was lazing about on her back, the fennekin's soft fur and high body temperature keeping said back nice and toasty, not that Tempest needed it much in this form. She looked around at the frozen artwork, feeling admiration and a bit of giddiness at the sights, not that it showed much; Tempest always looked grim and grave, even when she was having fun. Still, there were things bothering her. For one thing, she had this vague sense of foreboding that she knew was her clairvoyance trying to tell her something. Deadly and dangerous things came with much better clarity, which meant that whatever kept hanging over her likely wasn't too bad, but it was a feeling much like the much-hated 'I've forgotten something and don't know what it is,' only many times worse. Tempest passed the sculptures by with no protest from her passenger, and made her way to the thicker snow, where children were playing. Firestorm snorted slightly and curled up on her trainer's back as if to say 'no way are you getting me to play in that cold stuff,' which gave her the urge to shake vigorously and drop her into the snow as her own way of saying 'then find another ride.' She resisted this impulse just long enough to be distracted by it by the sight of an umbreon bounding through the nearby snow with someone humanoid in tow, and, curious, she started to trot in that direction, her large, clawed paws acting a bit like natural snowshoes. Kate was whistling cheerily as she headed through the town, looking around with quite a lot of enjoyment. The tune was fairly recognizable as Carol of the Bells, but slightly off key; this last little detail had gotten her evicted from the company of her traveling companion. Well, that and the fact that she wanted to explore the full crush of people and he hadn't. It wasn't really a carnival if you weren't having to elbow your way through a crowd to get a steaming cup of hot cocoa and some cinnamon almonds. They hadn't been here overly long, especially not once they'd finally found their way out of the sprawling jungle they'd arrived in. It was a bit of a surprise to realize how close to Giftmas it was; it was slightly less surprising to learn that this world had similar celebrations of many kinds. Every single person they spoke with had made subtle - or not so subtle - hints that if they were new, the Ice Festival was the place to be this time of year. Not having anything better to do, it seemed like a good idea to follow local advice in the end. At least, that had been Kate's opinion, and she usually won her arguments. So here they were. Kate had already gotten her nuts, and was debating the merits of getting a cup of hot mulled cider instead of cocoa when she rounded a corner and came to a dead stop. "Nice!" The blonde admired the way the castle glittered in the light before heading to see what it looked like from the inside. Cider could wait. Elsewhere, another figure wove nimbly through the crowd, a cup of hot mulled wine in one hand. Someone surely wasn't happy about that, but Lex didn't care. Her moonshine somehow hadn't made the trip with them to this new place, so he'd have to deal. Fair was fair, and it was cold anyhow. The cup was as much a hand-warmer as a drink, really. Bundled up in a camo hunting jacket and one of those furry warm Russian-style hats, it was even harder than usual to tell what gender Lex was, which was how she liked it. Virus was with Draco, wherever the dragon had got off to, plastered to his warm hide rather grumpily. Snakes and cold didn't mix well. Didn't mean Lex was alone, though. A largish badger-like creature was draped over her shoulders like a bizarre stole or something. Neither she nor the linoone particularly cared what looks they got over it, though. Ziggy had snarfed down most of the elephant ear she'd bought and both of them had had enough of crowds, so were headed out towards the fringes of the festival, getting out of the crowds. "Wonder where that boy got off to. Eh, I suppose this is his kinda place anyhow, so I shouldn't be surprised. He'll turn up somewhere, I'm sure." Lex considered, then slouched off in a random direction, shoving her free hand in a pocket. Might as well see what sort of trouble they might manage to find until the rest of the party caught up. The umbreon bounded through the snow to find a fresh patch, leaping into a drift and making snow fly everywhere. Tzrazura had fallen behind, having stopped to look at the abomasnow, and the flakes of snow coming out of its body and swirling into a storm in the sky before falling down. The pokemon smelled of pine and cold, she noticed, and took a second to watch and breathe in the smell. "Vul? Krildokvul?" she looked over at the last place she had seen the umbreon, and he poked his head out of the drift when he heard his name. Yes? Come here, let's make something, Vul waved his paws, gesturing her over to him. You just grab the snow and pack it together and make something with it. It's like sculpting, I guess. To demonstrate, Krildokvul pawed a pile of snow together and patted it down to make a little pyramid. But, you know... better. A snowman is pretty easy, it's just three balls and shove things onto it. Tsrazura thought about it, eyes roaming around until a thought struck her, and she crouched down to start pulling the snow together into a ball. The dark type next to her wagged his tail, watching her until he got bored and looked around instead. He noticed the absol looking at him, looking her over quickly before looking away again, onto something else. As Lex was walking around, a snowball suddenly whizzed past her head. It came dangerously close, sure, but still missed completely. When Lex turned to deliver righteous justice, it turned out to be just Khaos. He also had a cup of something warm in one hand, and was actually looking a little annoyed for once. What? You were actually aiming for her this time? Oh what a shame. Besides dude, she'd punch you in the junk if you actually managed to get her with a snowball. I'm saving your life here, calm down. Don't give me that look. "I decided I was going to make bad decisions too," Khaos said to Lex instead, walking up next to her and holding up the cup. At least this time it tasted so much better then the moonshine. Khaos was pretty alright with drinking, he just didn't like it when it tasted like jet fuel. His logic was just that if he teased Lex, maybe she'd never drink too much ever again. He was all bundled up too, though the majority of it was covered by a gray cloak with a fur-like ruff for the collar. He had his own thick jacket and pants, and a beanie on his own head with a fuzzy bobble on the top, the tips of his hair curling around the edges. The boy looked pretty damn pleased; he may have been pleased at himself, or pleased at the event, or pleased at anything else at all. Maybe he was just really happy to be spending time with Lex. Elsewhere, Draco was wandering around the stalls among the food and other vendors. He had obtained a long scarf at some point, wrapped it around Virus, and then let Virus coil around his neck and hide under his wings for warmth. "How about a hat?" the dragon rumbled, tilting his head towards her as he walked down the aisle on all fours. The fire dragon didn't mind the grass snake coiling around him like this, but he wanted to make sure she stayed warm. |

"You know what I love most about festivals like this?" Guru looked up at his trainer, who was appraising a mince pie even as he'd asked the question. The catering? The Alakazam asked dryly. Alex tilted his head in thought. "Well, I was going to say spending the occasion with loved ones like you and Steely, but now that you bring it up? Sure, let's go with the catering." Steely had mentioned the festival when telling him about the culture and traditions of Natura, so naturally they had chosen to hop over to Clearmeadow and check out the winter wonderland. And what a setting it was - the organisers had done a wonderful job of capturing the spirit of the winter solstice. It didn't hurt that there were any number of stalls where one could get themed food and drink. Alex planned to sample every one of them before the day was out. "Take this mince pie for example." He held the festive treat in front of him, as if he was in an infomercial. "Whoever made this has clearly taken the time to perfect the presentation. The pastry is perfectly crimped, the powdered sugar is in a nice even layer on top, and..." Alex took a bite that almost exactly bisected the pie, making a point of savouring the flavour before swallowing. "Moist, but firm. You can tell that the ingredients are fresh, too. This pie was baked this morning at the latest. Delicious." Sounds like you and the pie should get a room. "Funny." When Steely returned from wherever she was, she would find Alex had selected a few choice snacks and was holding them on a plate for her. Or rather, Guru was levitating the plate. Alex had no spare hands. Mince pies and everything. |

Suddenly, something bumped into her. She stopped so she didn't plow whatever it was over and glanced down. She cocked a brow as her left ear flattened and right ear perked up in curiosity. This was quite curious, most anthromorphs didn't walk blindly around. "Careful pup, ya'll could hurt yerself or someone else." Her warning was light hearted, mostly afraid of him getting bowled over by someone of her size. She put her hands on his shoulders to steady him and step away. She flashed him a smile. "There we go. Not much of a hair out of place Ah reckon." |

"I--" Growl started to say, looking up at the person that had steadied him from falling down on his rear end. It looked like he was talking to a large version of himself except, well--she was obviously a woman from what he could tell. "Wait, what? Pup?" He repeated, his brow furrowing a little at the comment. "I'm not a pup..." He muttered a little bashfully before looking up at her again. Her smile was rather disarming, really... "Sorry about that. Er... name's Growl, miss," he said, looking her up and down a moment before making sure to hold out a hand for a shake. She was rather pretty, and honestly, he had not even considered the possibility of finding more like himself. He figured he was the only freak around, but he did not say that aloud. |

Tempest stopped in her tracks when the umbreon looked at her, though the lack of any reaction from him left her unsure whether she should keep heading that way. It wasn't a rejection, but it wasn't an invitation, either. She took a few more steps, then paused again, and it was then that Firestorm twitched an ear and uncurled enough to see what was up. Instantly realizing what was going on when she saw the umbreon and humanoid lady in the snow, she uncurled fully and crawled up onto Tempest's head, carefully avoiding the blade. *Hey! You two!* The fennekin's voice was similar to Vul's, projected outward telepathically and much like a verbal voice in its range of the being picked up. *My dorky friend here wants to play with you! Can she?* Satisfied with her bit of unrequested assistance regarding her trainer's inability to be confidently social outside of her hometown, hopped back down onto Tempest's shoulders, which was when Tempest gave a vigorous shake and dumped her fennekin into the snowdrift. Firestorm shook her head furiously upon righting herself and sneezing the snowflakes from her nose, then glared at the absol who had yet to change expression. "Don't call the person giving you a ride 'dorky,'" she said flatly. Unlike Firestorm, Tempest could speak the common tongue verbally, no matter which form she took. Ah, the Festival. Had to love this time of year, all about celebration and togetherness and all that other warm and fuzzy stuff. Abbie didn't head this way every winter, but she every few years she just had to see what Clearmeadow had put together this time. Of course, there were drawbacks, like the fact that Strike hated cold and they tended to frown on riding a motorcycle around the ice sculptures, and so she was without her grovyle, who was pouting in his pokeball, and her little rotom, Thunder, had to settle for inhabiting her PokeBrace instead of her bike as Abbie strolled her way through the winter wonderland. There was also the fact that she actually had to wear sensible clothing for winter, which meant no showing off the extensive tattoos for all to see, but her clothes were still all black, so she took that limitation in stride, simply enjoying the artwork all around her and basking in the friendly atmosphere. It was after she'd darted into an impressive ice castle and had been admiring it for a while that she heard someone else walking in. Abbie looked over her shoulder and, when she caught sight of blonde woman at the entrance, she perked up and turned around fully. "Pretty cool, huh?" she commented, cracking a lopsided smile that showed one of her sharp eye-teeth. "Even bigger than last year's." |

Kate paused just outside the palace, looking up at the spires as she munched the last few nuts out of their paper cone. Still, as impressive as it was, she hadn't seen what it all looked like from the inside like she wanted to. Cold as it was, there was little likelihood that the ice would melt and crack under the stress, after all. Still, it was an amazing piece of work, concerns of being squashed or no, and quite a lot of frozen water. Her head was still turned more ceiling-ward over into the building as she entered slowly, so she didn't immediately realize that she wasn't alone in there. However, when Abbie spoke, she looked down with a blink, "Whups, sorry didn't know anyone was in here!" The blonde smiled brightly at the lopsided grin and laughed at her comment. "Wasn't here last year, so I can't compare, but that does make me wonder if there's some sort of compensation going on..." Her yellow-green eyes sparkled with mischief as her smile invited the other woman to share in the joke. "Name's Kate. Katelyn Summers, really, but call me Kate. Everyone does. People said that this was the place to be this time of year, so here we are. Can't really argue. Didn't have anything near as impressive as this back home." She shoved the empty nut cone into a pocket of her light green parka and offered a hand with a nod. "It's nice to get a chance to meet someone...been traveling a lot lately, I fear and we're strangers around here." Even if some people she knew were going to be anti-social, Kate wasn't about to miss the chance to chat up some locals. Lex blinked as something whizzed past her ear, stopping dead in her tracks as Ziggy jerked his head up with a startled bark and looked behind her, then wiggled happily at the sight of who was behind them. "..." Lex stood there for a moment or three, staring at the remains of the snowball. "Someone is so fucking glad that missed." She pivoted about on one heel, careful not to spill a drop of her drink, green eyes glittering in anticipation of letting someone have it for daring to take aim at her. The green haired hacker deflated slightly, however, as she recognized the culprit. Khaos wasn't nearly as much fun to let have what-for, after all. "Oh, it's just you. I swear sometimes you have a death wish, boy." She didn't sound actually disappointed as she spoke, however. For Lex, really, that's actually almost affectionate. And the twitch of her mouth as she tried to keep a smirk off her face didn't help the effect any. She laughed outright as he held up his own drink however. "Bah, that's not a bad decision ever. You just don't know what you're missing. Hopefully now you'll come around to the right way of thinking." She grinned as she raised her glass in a slight toast. "Either that or I'm just good at corrupting people. Whatever works. Cheers!" She took a sip, since chugging a hot drink is never a good idea. She took a glance around again and headed off in a new direction at random. "This is your kind of party, though, isn't it? What do you recommend we do now?" Lex was game to let Khaos change where they were headed, though. It was almost as if she was just happy to be spending time with him for the moment herself. But this is Lex we're talking about. Can't be. And off with Draco, Virus the serperior was plastered as tightly to Draco's furnace hide as possible, looking sulky. "I don't see why Lex couldn't just recall me and not make me deal with all this cold..." she grumbled as she hunched (or did her best as far as a snake can) up on his back. Virus accepted the hat with a huff, shifting her scarf around her coils with a sigh. "And then she abandons me anyhow... at least you didn't do that, for which I appreciate. I'd be an icicle otherwise, no thanks to her." Maybe it was payback for the mistletoe incident... Edited by Darth Eevee, Jan 21 2015, 07:14 PM.

The Dog in the Machine
|
Tsrazura was patting the large ball on the ground nice and smooth when she heard the voice. Both cat and moon-dog looked up together, and Krildokvul wagged his tail when the little fire fox proposed the question. Sure! Vul sprung from where he was sitting, hopping through the snow to circle and absol and fennekin. His behavior before hadn't meant to be seen as unfriendly (not that it was), but there were just so many people around to see. He hopped closer to Firestorm when she was dumped into the snow, pawing playfully at the small fox. We're building a snow thing. The khajiit was watching, still crouched where she was patting the side of the big snow sphere. Her tail was tucked around under her and by her feet, so nobody else stepped on it, and her bright cat eyes seemed to flicker a little at them. Her severe big-cat look softened when she smiled as well as her not-human-face could. "Tsrazura always welcomes new faces." Khaos only gave Lex his normal sheepish smile as he closed the distance between them, reaching to give Ziggy a scritch on the top of the head. "As long as it never becomes a habit," he mumbled in response to the whole drinking conversation. Still, he raised his hand and tapped his cup against hers, taking a sip when she did. It made a pleasant warm feeling down to his tummy, and on some level he knew at some point he'd stop caring anymore, though he hoped he was smart enough to not let it come to that. "Iunno," Khaos fell into step walking next to her as they strolled around the outer edge. Today, he didn't have his sunglasses on, and his bright yellow eyes merrily as he looked around. "Part of me wants to just... run full tilt through the snow and play in it, but that's also the furry and four-legged part," his voice dropped low at the last part, so only she could hear. "Hungry?" he suggested instead, gesturing his head over where they could see steam and smoke rising. Draco had been given a bit of money too, and dug it out of the pouch around his neck with his mega stone, handing it to the vendor and taking the knitted hat. He gently placed it on Virus' head, tying the 'ear' flap cords under her chin so it would stay on. At least he had some sense of fashion; it was a nice arrangement of various shades of green. "Oh, I'll make sure I keep you warm! I wonder if like, we could just get a giant sock for you..." the dragon sat up, adjusting so his tail was helping to warm his friend, and he helped her stay in place with her wings. Draco and Virus, best completely platonic friends. "I think that's your third cup of wine, my lady." "...is it only the third?" The woman next to Steely sighed, but showed no signs of irritation of exasperation. Elora hadn't known Steely as long as the rest of her friends had, but she was very quick to just accept how she was. There was far more to it than that, but that was another story for another day. "...is Alex going to say anything about it?" Steely sipped at her drink, keeping steady with her cane in her other hand. It was weird; the cold weather generally would have made her knees hurt, but she didn't have actual knees that could ache anymore. Still, a ghost of the feeling persisted, despite being bundled and scarved and wearing layers. Some things never changed; she hated the cold. The scarf she was wearing now wasn't her old blue and silver one, but a black and silver one with a three headed dog crest stitched onto the largest stretch of black at one of the ends. Elora her new were-manectric friend had gotten it at some point, and Steely had decided to wear it. Less at the were-mon's insistence, and more because Steely knew she'd be damn freezing even more without it. "Eh, he never has. He never says anything about anything," Steely mumbled, shrugging. They'd gotten separated from Alex because they'd lost Windy in the event somewhere... which seemed impossible, but the tall warrior had wandered away at some point. For the moment, Steely had given up on finding her; she was an adult, and she always managed to find them eventually. Now, they were looking for Alex again, and had ended up wandering through the non-food vendors. Steely was looking at the stands as they passed, but came to a jerky, sudden stop when something caught her eye. "...I must have it." The pair of them caught up to Alex again as he was among the food and drink, sampling all of the everything. She seemed a little surprised at the tray offered to her, squinting at it until she selected one of the treats that wasn't mincemeat or anything else she didn't recognize. "Oi, close your eyes." Steely waited until Alex did, pulling a scarf from an inside pocket of her coat and carefully putting it around his neck. It was black and bright pink of all colors, stripes alternating. Elora laughed a little at the sight, holding Steely's drink, "Haha, you're right, it does suit him somehow." The blonde looked pleased, taking her drink back and nibbling at the pot pie. She looked at Elora after a few seconds, "Hey Lori, didn't you say something about there being music?' "Yeah, there's a band around here somewhere. Wanna go see?" Steely glanced at Alex to see what he thought. Yes I did google it but I've never had it before, so I know she sure as hell hasn't either. |

Ah, there they are. Alex looked over to where Guru was motioning, and sure enough, there was Steely making her way through the crowd to where he was. With her was one of her Natura friends - Elora, was it? They'd only been introduced recently, but it seemed as though she and Alex would get on just fine. Then again, he had that impression about pretty much everyone. Suspicion and distrust weren't reactions that Alex had very often, primarily because it took considerable effort to be suspicious about someone, and he was far too lazy for all that nonsense. Steely's present for him... well, it was something, alright. When he opened his eyes to find a broken ribbon of hot pink draped around his neck, he chuckled to himself and shook his head. "This... actually looks good." He conceded, smiling down at the two women. Yes, it really complements your eyes. Guru deadpanned, nibbling on a gingerbread cookie. Alex rolled his eyes, levitating over a plate of fruit-infused confectionery that looked to still be on fire. With a quick puff, the fire extinguished, and he popped the seasonal treat into his mouth. "Figgy pudding." He explained once he'd swallowed. "They soak it in brandy and set it on fire before serving." Although given Steely's reaction to the mince pie, he suspected that she may not be as enthusiastic about it as he was. But hey, music! "You know me, I'm always up for entertainment. Lead the way." |
