A couple of days ago I saw a shiny pidgey, and although I already had a pidgeot was extremely eager to catch it. Unfortunately, I wasn't paying complete attention to the game and by the time I was going to catch it one of my pokemon had already killed it. I know it's my fault for not paying attention, but is there anyway we could make the shiny pokemon immune to your pokemon's attacks so that this doesn't happen? Seeing shinies are rare, and this would be an awesome addition to PTD's wonderful ideas. |

They're already auto-red barred, that's already making things pretty generous. Really the only things that differentiates someone money grinding and shiny hunting is that the shiny hunter needs to pay attention. If shinies were given super high defence or outright made invincible (which could be bad as it'd 'force' people to catch shinies in order to not lose candies, although I dunno why someone wouldn't want to catch a shiny), then people could almost completely ignore the game and still get shinies/money as long as they glance at the game every now and then. As the game is already really easy, I don't think making it even easier by doing so is necessary. |

You dont have to make it invincible but making it to where your level 36 shiny golem doesnt kill it in one hit before you can see it would be nice. |

The easy cure for that is don't put your max level golem near the entrance, especially if you're hunting at an early level. The issue with just cranking up the defence is that down the road we're going to have even higher leveled pokemon, and anything that can stand up to a lvl 100 golem for more than a split second is going to be pretty much impossible to kill using our current leveled pokemon, so they can't really cater to over-leveled pokemon. Although I don't think they should (based on my earlier post) they could make the def boosted relative to the expected level (i.e. if the average pokemon at VF2 is lvl 10, give shinies the defence of a lvl 20), but that doesn't really help you if you're going back with lvl 36+ pokemon, as you'd still be murdering them quite quickly. (Not to mention since shinies are supposed to have normal stats, it'd be odd for them to be extra strong before you captured them, but go back to normal stats when you caught them.) |

Or when a shiny comes on screen it makes a bing noise and u can pay attention. (keep in mind you can just click on ur pkmn or the pokeball to pause it in place) Although this might be hard for people who dont like using volume (like me) |

maybe making them have a speed reduction or slight defense boost would be a good way - I just loaded up route 5 and on like wave 3 or something I saw a shiny meowth but killed it before I realised that it was there, so I think something needs to be done. |

Look, in the real games, shinies were NO different from other Pokemon other than the different color scheme and the sparkle. And like Mystic said, they have a full red life bar, which is more than generous. Now, I know this isn't an exact replica of Red/Blue, but giving them higher Defence/Speed/etc. would kinda go over the limit. You know what I mean? |

In Red/Blue we had time to carefully pick which pokemon we wanted to use, and which moves we wanted to use. This game gets pretty intense sometimes, and it's hard to keep up with it all. Just something with a little warning or something would be nice. Do you know what I mean? |

First, Sam increased the rate of shinies from about 1/9000 in the real games to 1/1000. With the immense increase in the Pokemon that appear in this game, that means shinies are ridiculously more common than in the real games. Then, he made them instantly catchable without needing to lower their life. In the real games, there's a chance of any shiny you see fleeing from battle as soon as you see them. In the games, you've gotta lower their life without killing them, hope they don't flee, and make sure you've got a Pokeball good enough to catch it. And even with these conditions, unless you play an insane amount, you're likely to only see a few shinies throughout the game. I think Sam has been more than generous enough in the shiny area. Yes, some kind of warning would make it easier, but would that make everyone satisfied? Would higher defense for shinies make everyone satisfied? Would invincibility for shinies make everyone satisfied? How about if all the shinies in the game were just given away to everyone? Sam has already made shinies almost too easy to catch. At least with the way it is, it forces you to actually pay attention to the game in order to catch them. Do you know what I'm saying? |

I'm probably in the minority, but I almost preferred when shinies were nearly impossible to catch. I used to not care at all about them because I just figured I had no hope of catching them. Now, I have an insane need to get all of them. |
